Stayed here before mainly due to location and ability to use points but would not "pay to stay" here. Bathroom tiles shift indicating a need for replacement; dark grout makes it look unclean. Bath tub to side panels have spaces that look to be harboring dark mold. Bedroom clean and neat. Relocate cigarette smoking receptable to the end of the sidewalk away from the front door. This is unsightly and stinks for non-smokers having to walk through the smokers to enter.

We stayed there because our babysitter did not want us to drive 2 hours after partying.
We found everything to be the best overnite experience ever.

This particular Express really does need some maintenance and renovation. The heat system in the room was very noisy and woke us up each time it came on. The bathroom really, really needs renovation. There was mold around the tub. The mattress was not very comfortable but the comforter and linens were great. The rooms are looking quite "tired" and could use some renovation. THE STAFF WAS GREAT!!

Asst Mgr was very pleasant and helpful. I needed directions to the place I needed to go to and he gave me
directions how to get there. The ice machine was out of order on the third floor, he came up and got ice for us.

We were awakened in the middle of the night to the sound of water dripping from the ceiling in our bathroom. When we called the front desk, they attempted to contact the room above us, without success. But they immediately made arrangements to move us to a suite on another floor and comped us for that night.
They were very apologetic for the inconvenience and minimized its impact on our stay.
I have done a lot of business travel over the years and the bed was as comfortable as any I have found in my travels.
We were well pleased with the stay in every aspect and plan to stay there again at Thanksgiving next year for a fifth consecutive year!

The entire hotel staff were attentive and responsive to my requests. The room was BIG and comfortable. Housekeeping kept the room spotless. The breakfast had something for everyone - with biscuits and gravy to more healthy fare like yogurt and fruit and oatmeal. The front desk staff were knowledgable of the area and gave me great tips on shopping and dinning. I did not expect the hotel to be so nice. The manager was also very helpful with my check out.

A local friend always makes our reservations to the Holiday Inn Express in Kinston, (which is why our confirmation number doesn't match our name in your records). There was a mix-up on November 1 when we checked in, and the room we were supposed to have, and got the key to, and started to unpack in, was already occupied! We skiddadled out of there mighty fast, ran downstairs and got another room, no problem. BUT my husband had inadvertently left his cell phone in the first room, so assumed he had it when we checked out of the second room, because there was nothing left on any counters. When he was looking for his phone in the airport on November 2nd, it was no where to be found! He nearly had a fit so when we reached Austin, we called the only places we figured it could be, but no success. EXCEPT the young man at the front desk of your hotel said he could not be sure our phone was found because the executive housekeeper was not on the premises and he didn't want to say for sure. He advised us to call back the next day and that is when we got Ms. Tenecia at the front desk. It's a long story but she figured out the phone had been left in the first room, and then she found it and then she shipped it back to us and was sweet and helpful every step of the way. Many thanks to her and your other great staff for a happy ending to this story.
