I booked a room online for work. I booked a smoking room and did not receive what I asked for. I received a call the night before my stay telling me they no longer had smoking rooms at this hotel. I find it to be in very poor taste to conduct business in this manner. I booked my reservation earlier in the month and they call me the night before my reservation to tell me I can't have the room I requested because they were changing policies. Plus, IHG/Holiday Inn has a policy of canceling by 6:00 pm the night before or face a charge to my credit card. I received my call after 6pm the night before the stay. Needless to say I will not stay at Holiday Inn Express in Kirksville,MO if this is the way they conduct business. I travel to this location once a month for work and stay overnight. I took a slap in the face yet again when I found out that my coworkers were upgraded to suites on the same stay, and they were not affected by the smoking ban at the hotel. By the way I am an IHG Rewards Club Member, as well. I see how far that got me.

I had a great time at this hotel. The staff were amazing, the breakfast was great and mattress was very very comfortable! I will definitely be staying again and will recommend this hotel to everyone!

I have been staying at this motel for years during the deer season. I know that they fill up because of the hunters. You offer breakfast. I understand that getting the hot food s ready earlier than normal could represent a problem. However having the cold items , hot coffee, fruit, cereals, milk and yogurt available should not be a chore. Quite disappointed this year. I always have 2 or 3 rooms rented for 2 to 4 nights each weekend of the season. Hope you can get your act together. It wasn't a problem in the past.

We happened to be there due to a family emergency that would evolve into a funeral before we were able to leave.
Laura, at the front desk, and others on the staff, worked tirelessly to get us not only a second room for other family, but to extend both rooms through the next week.
Not a big deal you might say, but the end of our first week was also the opening day of deer season. Every motel for over a hundred miles was booked up and sold out. Yet, they worked until they could not only keep us in the motel, but we did not have to move rooms.
Thanks for everything. We will never stay at another mote when we are in Kirksvillel.

Shortly after arriving in our hotel room the toilet broke and could not be used. The front desk clerk showed very little lack of concern that we were on the 3rd floor and if we wanted to use a toilet, we had to go down to the 1st floor and use a public restroom. The lack of communication between the maintenance worker at the hotel and the front desk was miserable. He couldn't be located and the front desk couldn't offer a time that he could repair it. There were no other rooms available in the hotel that night so we were stuck. After 4 hours of waiting AND we had already gone to bed for the night, he finally showed up with parts to repair it. What did we get for our inconvenience?? We were offered a WHOPPING 10% off of our bill. WOW, sad, they were already overpriced for being located in a very small town.
