My buddy and I were riding our motorcycles to Nashville. We spent the first night here. They were very biker friendly and we enjoyed the stay.

I was provided excellent service at the front desk - the breakfast was hot, and plenty of it - and the room was very clean. Would recommend this location to everyone!

Interesting visit. Our room was not marked with a room number, so hard to find. The person who checked us in listed us as no shows, so we had to insist on paying when we tried to check out. The room was across from the elevator and there was a noisy crowd in the hotel, so it was difficult to sleep. Whatever they use to clean the rooms leaves a very strong odor.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DJ1982 Double check to make sure there are rooms available
I use this hotel once a month for business. I call in advance to make a reservation and without hesitation they inform me that there is no rooms available. But what they don't know is that I have my iPad out and it clearly shows that there are multiple rooms to choose from. Why??? Otherwise this is the best hotel to stay at in town.

The room was barely adequit and I feel I was overcharged for the room that was called a Kitchenett. A sink in the sitting area does not make a Kitchenett. I was charged almost triple compared to a hotel across the street. I would only stay at a Holliday Inn express again if you were to compensate me the room.

The motel was fine and the staff was excellent.
I do think it was grossly overpriced for the location. The room rate compares with bigger cities like Kansas City and Omaha.
I enjoyed my stay but I doubt I will ever return because of price

Exceptional staff eager to help made this a better than usual stay. Rooms were comfortable, with plenty of space and quiet. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us -- answer questions and even check to make sure the drug store was still open to meet our needs.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Assurance Platium Status Doesn't Mean Much @ Kirksville Holiday Inn Express
Generaly, when I arrive at a International Hotel Group property there is recognition for Priority Club Platinum level status. Not so much at the Holiday Inn Express @ Kirksville.

Our daughter is a freshman at Truman State University, so we make rather frequent trips to Kirksville. This Holiday Inn is our favorite hotel in Kirksville. We also enjoy staying at the cabins at 1000 Hills State Park from time to time, but it's so nice staying at the Holiday Inn and being close to campus and our daughter's dorm.
Each staff member we've ever encountered has been very friendly and helpful. The property is in like-new condition and maintained quite well.
It would be nice to have a small refrigerator and/or microwave in the room, but that is completely not necessary.

I've stay at this location twice, once in late Sept and once in mid January for a total of 9 nights. Upon entering my room on the second trip, i noticed there was no remote for the television. The front desk had one ready waiting for me as i returned from grabbing a bite to eat.
Both times I have stayed the front desk have recognized me as a pc member but not as a Platinum member as most HI Express do, and of course, neither time was I upgraded. I find the rooms basic but clean. I believe this is the first time I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express where none of the standard rooms have a microwave or a fridge. I did speak with them about it and they offered to bring up a fridge. Soda/beer and leftover pizza stays cold in the car in January, so not a huge deal but it would be nice to see them step up to par and have them standard like other HI Express locations.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ToddC73 Great stay-good staff
The staff could use some hospitality training. Their personal appearance was not in line with other facilities, but their attitude was great. A little polish and they are in line with the rest. The facility is starting to get a little tired looking.

It is just down the street from Truman State University where I needed to go for a meeting. The hotel is easily accessible and is across the street from a very good Italian restaurant.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by dladell Uncomfortable beds and irritable desk help
Our first stay in August, we noticed the beds were uncomfortable, but thought maybe it was just the one in our room because Hotel was clean. On this stay, we stayed incompletely different room on 2nd floor. our priority rewards was not listed with our room so when we mentioned this, the lady at the desk argued that we didin't have priority rewards and it was listed anywhere. Eventually she found it and said she would resolve the problem. We did not received the 10,000 extra points even though our reservation was for over 2 consecutive nights. Today, "laura" called me and told me we had been charged from last night also. I asked her why and she stated reservations were made for last night and thru this weekend also. I explained there was no way we would have made reservations for last night and that somehow they must have double booked our stay accidently as we were there last friday and left on Monday to come back to Texas and would not have made reservations again this soon. She argued with me and told me we would be charged anyway. She said she made the reservation on 9/30/12 with me, but I never call at all - not for last week or this week. My husband made reservation. I checked with him to see if he had in any way called twice. He had not. Laura eventually said they would drop the charge for last night and take the reservation off. She was very unfriendly. On a good note, maids are friendly. Dining area is clean and nice. Hotel is clean and has easy access. However the beds are very uncomfortable and although we plan several trips to Kirskville during the next 2-4 years - our stay with your hotel as well as the conversation on the phone today with front desk was one which makes people decide to try another hotel and that is our current plan. One should not have to argue with the front desk to be sure your rewards are attached to your bill and I think the reservation made Laura for us twice - one accidently I am sure - should not have to be argued about.
