Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Thin walls The hallways were dirty and smelled of cigarette smoke. I was awakened at midnight by the shower next door. It was so loud I thought it was the shower in my room :( I stay at a lot of Holiday Inns and am generally satisfied, but this one was a definite disappointment. July 26, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I had hoped for Great staff that is very courteous. They make you feel very welcome. But they just couldn't make up for the very unattractive building. I've stayed at many Holiday Inn Express motels and I'm used to crisp updated rooms if not nearly new. The rooms in this motel are relatively small in comparison to other HI Express I've stayed at. This motel looks like it was converted from a another brand or it is the oldest one I've seen on the east coast. The 70s tile in the bath and low ceiling give away it's actual age. It was peak season, but the price was over the top for that age of a motel. Speaking of peak seasons, I should have realized something was wrong when this motel had a high # of vacancies while the rest of the Outer Banks motels were full. I hate to say this because of the great staff, but I would not go back. July 26, 2014

I thought I might be offered an upgrade or something. For the price I paid for this room, management could have upgraded my wife and I without losing money. July 24, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed We were in the Outer Banks for my son's beach wedding. Unfortunately, it started to rain that day, quite hard. We decided to rent a room at your hotel when we had to relocate the wedding spot so the wedding party could get ready and hope that the rain would stop in the meantime. The desk help of two women were extremely kind and accommodating. Since we already had the room, we told our son & his wife to use the room for their wedding night, since the rest of the family was staying in a rented beach house. So far, so good until the next morning when the hotel had no hot water and they had to take a cold shower !!! I have not had a chance to talk with the hotel management to see if an adjustment on the room bill will be made since we just got home. It was an unfortunate thing, but hopefully something will be done to make up for that. July 20, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Old, overused, understaffed and expensive for this property. If all you care about is the beach this motel may be OK. However we were just passing through. Halls are dark and dank. AC is loud. Bath is old. Would not eat or take a cup of coffee at the site. Won't' be back. Bright spot - person at front desk was proficient, informative and helpfully. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good room, great location This hotel is within walking distance of the beach, and is very close to many different restaurants. The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only issue was that the bathroom fixtures (toilet and sink), were in need of serious repairs. This in no way took away from the fabulous time my family had. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. July 16, 2014
