Room was magnificent, front desk service was ok, use to them being more courteous when they know your a platinum member. I thought Holiday Inn valued their regular traveling customers. My main issue is that I was walked in on by house keeping at 8:40 am. while laying in my boxers. I was awake, but there is no need to be knocking and barging in that early in the morning to clean rooms.
I have seen other hotels when checking out they walkie-talkie the housekeeping staff to let them know the room is free. Hopefully management will review this! I did report it to the front desk when checking out and she did apologize, however my privacy was still impeded on. And YES, I did have the hang tag on the door.

The room was clean and comfortable. We started the stay with a few minor annoyances: the room safe was locked upon arrival, the first day the cleaning staff took our towels but didn't replace them. To the hotels credit, the front desk responded quickly to amend the situations.
The pool was nice. The whirlpool control was broken and the jets were not working properly - not a big issue since we spent most of our time in the pool. Towel issue again here at the pool, no towels needed to contact the front desk.
Breakfast was good and kept well stocked.

I waited 10 Minutes at about 8 PM to get checked in. The one person responsible for the front desk complained she was not at her post because the maid service was so bad she was up correcting some of the rooms. I was concerned so I looked around the room. I have included the pics I took of the room. I did send a note into Holiday Inn but with no response. :(

you can tell this is an older hotel with a bad facelift. staff where extremely rude. office center didnt havea printer. I could go on and on.

wasn't at the hotel long, but almost everything was good.
Being a guest under the employee rate, they were a little unprepared during the check in process.

As our stay was for enjoyment we had a good time visiting the area and the historic church nearby as well as other places such as the mall so location was good for hotel however some staff could show more effort and be trained in hospitality skills. I could also say maintenance and upkeep are poor here as our bathroom needed work and the pool was not functioning and filthy. The room key stopped working at 9:30 am second day while we were downstairs for coffee, and then we waited in line for 15 min. to get key turned back on. This was just one of the instances of poor hospitality. The level of hospitality depends on whom is behind the desk as check in with a young African American woman the first day was pleasant and quick. The employee on the second day lacked hospitality skills she was an middle aged woman. Also we noticed some cleaning staff had brought their children to the hotel to roam around unsupervised while they worked.

Had trouble with door staying open while trying to get my mom out in her wheelchair. A hook would help.

We always stay at Holiday Inns and Express location. I am a Platitum level member because we have stayed so many times over the year. This location was not up to the standards of Holiday Inn. The desk clerk ( checked in around 8:30 PM ) was very rude, the room was ok but the hotel was very noisey yet the hotel was not even half full. House cleaning banged on the door at 8 am looking to clean our room waking us up to boot. When asked about an upgrade the clerk said the system wouldn't let her upgrade us. Very disappointed.

Ive stayed at this hotel several times for a week or two at a time. I kindly asked for a room on the back of the building away from the 4 lane highway on the front side. I was told no, there were no rooms available on the back side.
I was there for 4 nights. each morning at 5:00 am as I left for work, Quite tired from lack of sleep due to highway noise, I counted the vehicles, the most cars were there on thursday, 28 vehicles total. every other night there were less vehicles. No Im not a math major but I have to believe there were rooms available on the back of the building.
Ill check out the Hotel next door with my employees for the next project.

The Holiday Inn Express in LaPlata is clean, comfortable and a nice room for the value. The breakfast selection equalled or exceeded other Holiday Inn Express locations during previous stays. The staff was friendly and helpful and hotel provided a good wireless connection for my computer. Best of all, I was able to get a fresh start in the morning and completed my business in the area. I will consider the Holiday Inn Express, LaPlata as a lodging option in the future.

this hotel is in the middle of what seems like nowhere, but it is right where I needed it to be. Clean, comfortable, spacious, and a real value at the price.
