Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service The service we recieved from the time we walked in the door was awesome only thing lacking was some decent pillows they were absolutely horrible, and this particular weekend they had a lot of baseball teams which made it a very noisey weekend for us. He also knew us by name each time he saw us. That does not happen often. When passing that way again, we will stay there. Just wish they took pets. May 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ok service I checked in on that Saturday afternoon and the attendant had more buisness on her cellphone than the hotel had. I checked in and was not recognized as a priority club member nor did I receive the welcome bag with the water and the snacks. I came back to the desk to inquire about directions about Lake Charles and she was then pre occupied on her phone texting or playing a game. On sunday when I woke up I hadn't received my quick checkout receipt underneath my door. Checkout was at 1200. I made it a point to check out late just to see if anyone would check to see if I was still there. To my suprise no one checked to see if I had checked out or if I had any problems. I am from Louisiana but I will never stay In this hotel again. It seemed as if no one on the staff cared about the guest. The attendant did not even tell me to enjoy my stay! WOW!!!!!!! Don't get me wrong, the hotel was nice but the customer service was awful. I have stayed at many holiday inn's because I love to travel and I love their hotels but this one by far was the worst in custoner satisfaction with the workers. April 26, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Folks We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything about the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Upon check-in, our room had a funny odor. The housekeeing staff came immediately with deodorizing spray and they also re-cleaned the bathroom. It was just stuffy from not having the A/C on, but they took care of the problem efficiently. April 22, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not happy I had left something in the room when I checked out. Two hours later I called to see if it was still in the room. I was told it was and that I needed to pay to have it shipped to me. Come to find out, it was not what I had left behind and I was out $100. I have a suspension that one of the staff walked away with my property. Also, the lady that I usually check in with is very unfriendly. And to top it all off, the room I stayed in last time had a shower that was gross, including what looked like fecal matter rubbed on the shower head. I will NEVER stay here again and I have recommended to my other coworkers that they start staying somewhere else. April 22, 2013

Even after moving into a new room was unable to rest because of itching all over and thinking there would be roaches in that room also. Did not rest well and felt very tired for my meeting the next day. Needless to say I was not happy at all during this trip. March 28, 2013

The superficial upgrades help but the systems are old. Moreover, the staff failed to provide bath items, which left me to go searching for a housekeeper in the morning. March 21, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another Great Stay!!!!! WOW, This has now become our hotel of choice when we stay in the Lake Charles, La. area. The hotel manager, Mike, and the whole hotel staff are the friendliest folks we have grown to know staying at hotels. We really feel like were at home and have everyone's full attention if needed! The hotel, both inside and outside, is kept cleaned and neat 100% of the time. We totally recommend staying here not onlying for the attentive and professional staff, but also for the great competitive rates!! March 1, 2013

Smoking room had a noticeable smoke smell but was fine as soon as we sprayed with air freshner provided by staff. If we had of requested the room be sprayed before we arrived, we probably wouldn't have even noticed. Will use this hotel everythime we stay in Lake Charles. Convient to casinos. February 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staff made the difference on this stay... This hotel had to have the most polite and helpful staff at any Holiday Inn (IHG Hotel) that I have stayed in. I stayed in hotels for over 90+ days in 2012 for business and I can't remember the last time that the staff was this polite. It didn't matter if it was the front desk or the cleaning staff. Everytime I saw a staff member they said hello and told me to have a nice day. What surprised me the most is I was walking past 3 of the cleaning staff and they all said hello and wished me a good day. If only every hotel was this polite. A+++ to the staff. January 23, 2013

The Enviromental Cleaning Staff Go above and and beyond in making your room fresh and clean everyday. The front staff, especially Mike, makes sure all your needs are met and really makes you feel if there is anything else you need, it will be done!! What a great place to stay!!! January 11, 2013

The staff know us by face and some by name and always ask about our family. We are comfortable and have had few complaints (niosy guest). Breakfast has a variety of foods, enough to please anyone. The regular staff recognizes me and calls me by name. All staff are friendly and attentive. I always get an upgrade due to my silver status, unless there are new staff at the front desk when I arrive. Rooms are clean and comfortable with microwaves and refrigerators. They don't nickle and dime you, there are no additional charges for anything--breakfast, copies, faxes, internet, coffee. The business center is not always well supplied, but the front desk staff will print out anything that I need. Any needs are addressed immediately. January 3, 2013

Unlike the other HIEX/HI properties in the Lake Chas area, they always upgrade me- I appriciate this as a Platinum member. The desk staff is top-flight and the rooms and decor are spot on. The location is easy to get to off I-10, the easiest of all the HIEX in the area. I like the color of this place. I LIVE in Holiday Inns it seems and I notice things like that now- tastefull blues...not often seen. This also tends to be a quiet place... Price is always the best among the other HIEX. Staff may need some training for recognizing priority club level, but i wasn't going to press the issue, i had a nice room, so I don't imagine an upgrade would have made any difference. She said I had been "down-graded" due to the recent use of some of my points for a stay elsewhere. She would not accept my identification for the Reservation Requested. She said an "upgrade" was not available due to the Property being almost fullye booked. The property was "in-fact" barely one half occupied. I would not stay at this property again or recommend it.
