I've stayed at the HI Express Lancaster on business several times over the last 3 years without incident. Staff is usually helpful and courteous.
On a recent stay at check-in, had to wait while two staff members were conversing with each other about some business situation. They finally noticed I was standing at the desk, and one of the staff checked me in.
I was traveling with a carry-on and laptop bag and assigned a room on the second floor. After arriving at my room, I was unable to unlock my door. I tried both keys. Obviously they were not "punched in" at check in.
I had to carry my luggage and go back down to the front desk.
I told the clerk that neither of my keys worked, she took the keys, and "re-keyed" me. She gave me the keys back without apology or comment.
I wasn't looking for much....just an "I'm sorry for the inconvenience"
Either too busy or too proud to admit a mistake. Either one is unacceptable.

Excellent stay, rooms were very clean and comfortable. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with more options than I've ever saw on a continental breakfast, and the breakfast help was fantastic,

Great room, very clean and one of the most comfortable beds that I have ever been in. A little high priced for the small town location. Fire Alarm went off while I was sleeping and staff could not turn it off. Fire dept. responded and finally was able to turn it off, very annoying, was trying to sleep in on a Saturday morning. Otherwise, everything was great.

Nice Christman atmosphere with tree and train in lobby with free candy treats. Desk clerks and manager (Teresa) very nice. Wonderful pool (great temperature). Suite was clean and nice but I thought a bit pricey. Free Breakfast was well supplied and clean areas. Will return again.

I've been going to Ohio for 2 months, and won't stay anywhere but here. The front desk staff is the best, and rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast could have more selections, but is good food. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone in the Lancaster, Ohio area.

Seems to be a newer Holiday Inn Express. Room was very clean. All was well until at 4:30am, the fire alarm went off. It was a false alarm, but the staff was not able to completely turn off the alarm until 5:15am...yes...45 mins later. Needless to say this interrupted the night of sleep and made for a long following day. Stayed using reward points.
