Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy Bath Fan, Bed as hard as a rock, no electrical outlets! After having stayed at other Holiday Inn Express locations, we expected much better than we received! The room appeared to be built as inexpensively as possible. It had insufficient lighting, not enough electrical outlets to charge two phones and power one CPAP machine! The heat did not have a wall thermostat and the bathroom light and fan were on one switch. The fan was extremely noisy. There was a huge difference between 68 degrees on heat and 68 degrees on air conditioning?! Lastly, the bed was as hard as a rock, not comfortable at all. The breakfast room was too small for a sizable crowd, without a waffle or pancake machine. Our overall impression was poor! We are disappointed with what Holiday Inn Express provided! March 11, 2014

I usually stay at Holiday Inn Express when I travel and Lancaster is one of the best in the chain. Clean rooms and close to everything you want and need to do. We will be back soon. March 8, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Dirty Bathroom I checked in to this HIX and it was as I expected as I have been here before except, I am a Platinum Elite member was greeted as Gold. Now typically who cares except it means more points. I didn't think to much of it at the time but checked in again today same thing. Only this time I wasn't greeted at all. Are they trying to save points ? Last visit there was a bunch of hair on the shower wall and it was not mine, bathroom mirror dirty. I am not sure that I will be back at this HIX again. It is better for me for my work, but I think I would rather travel a bit further. March 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location This is great location for shopping at Rockvale Outlets and staying the night for concerts at the American Music Theater(AMT). The only drawback is that there is no easy walkway/steps to the sidewalks leading to the AMT if it is raining or there is snow on the ground. It is a long walk around on the road thru parking lots to the AMT and restaurants. Still better than any other hotel/motel in the area. February 27, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NO HELP FROM FRONT DESK There was a girls field hockey team taking over the hotel the night we stayed. Lots of running up and down the hall, congregating in the hall, doors slamming, etc. When I called the front desk and asked to change rooms I was told I couldn't and that the girls would get quiet at 10 PM. (It was 7:30 when I called) I asked if that meant the girls would be allowed to run wild until then. He didn't answer my question but repeated they had to be in their rooms at 10 PM. They did quiet down about 10:05 after a deep, loud voice yelled down the hall to get in their rooms. The next morning at 5:55 they started up again. I again called to ask for help but was told by the night manager it was 6 AM (really??? I had a clock and already knew the time on a Sunday morning). She told me she had already discounted my stay and that she didn't know why I was placed in the room I was in - which indicated to me there were other rooms available the night before. I checked the bill to see that 12% was taken from the bill. Not sure why 12% when I was TOTALLY dissatisfied with the service and disrespect. February 27, 2014

Breakfast was great with biscuits & gravy as good as any plus cereal, milk, yogurt, coffee, etc. Would stay there again, but rate is a little high for comparable properties in other areas of the country, particularly for the winter months. The only thing they need to do better is to get new bath towels. The fibers are gone and they were like sandpaper!!!! Front desk staff not at all attentive to guest needs or basic services. Housekeeping staff especially poor. Many other choices in this area, I chose to leave early this trip and would not recommend this hotel at all. January 15, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Honest hotel staff I have stayed here before on numerous occasions. The staff have always been helpful & accommodating. On this last visit my niece accidentally left behind her new i-phone in the room during check out. Once we realized we turned around & headed back to the hotel. We arrived to find that the room had already been cleaned but the housekeeper had sealed her phone in a plastic bag & placed in their lost & found. We were so relieved that the housekeeper was honest & turned the phone in. Thank you Holiday Inn & thank you to your loyal staff !! January 8, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by No problems except for breakfast This was the 3rd try to stay at the motel and go to the AMT for the Christmas show. There were no problems except for breakfast. When we came down to eat, the dinning area was full with people standing in line to eat. There were people sitting at tables not eating and talking so we went down the street to Bob Evan's for breakfast. We stayed here a few years ago with no problems. We plan to come back in April for a show at the AMT and plan to stay at the holiday Express...Ps: The two times we had plan to come and stay, there were weather problems..SNOW. January 1, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Theft of personal belongings I accidentally left my Kindle Fire tablet, bottlel of Amaretta and curling iron in the room when I checked out. I called as soon as I got home and realized what had happened. I was told that nothing was turned in. As the cleaning staff was in the hall doing the rooms, they should have turned my items in to the front desk but they did not do this. I have stayed in many Holiday Inn Express hotels and have never had this happen. Anytime that I have forgotten something it has always been turned in and sent back to me. I am very disappointed in this Holiday Inn Express and will not recommend this particular one to anyone. December 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean Room I stayed on Nov 30th. The Hotel is located within the Rockvale Outlet which is an excellent option if you plan to shop. It is centrally located and close to all the other amenities in Lancaster. The American Music Theatre is across the street. When you drive out to Route 30, there are tons of places to eat, shop and play. The lobby is a comfortable place with a large TV, electric Fireplace and a Computer/Business area. I wasn't offered a goody bag as others were but no big deal. The Breakfast room is an open area off the lobby. Coffee, Tea and Hot Chocolate are available for free. You can even get some cookies at the front desk. The room I reserved was standard with 2 Queen Beds. I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was and clean. There is a microwave, Fridge and a coffee pot (including coffee) in the room. The bedding was very clean looking and comfortable. There is even a choice of Hard or Soft Pillows on each bed. One thing I noticed was the bathroom seemed smaller than Ive seen in most hotels. But it had everything you would need. The towels were well stocked. A few complimentary toiletries were a nice touch, and plenty of paper products. There is a complimentary buffet breakfast in the morning that was quite substantial. Nice selection of breads, muffins and cereals. Also yogurts and fruit. There was some hot food like sausage and eggs. Eggs were premade little omelets but pretty good, and sausage was delicious. And of course Coffee, tea, juice, etc. My one complaint about the breakfast are the hours - 6 to 9. It would have been more convenient if it ended later. All in all it was a good experience. There is no room service, or many amenities on the premises.That's one reason I felt the room rate was a little high even with an advanced reservation. But as I mentioned, it was conveniently located, very clean and comfortable. Each floor does have a beverage and snack machine with good selections. I didn't get a chance to check out the Indoor pool, but it is there. I will consider staying again if I get a good deal on a room rate. December 4, 2013

Our airconditioner was a bit on the noisy side but apart from that the room was comfortable and clean. It is also in a good location to go and visit the Amish local area. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Best in Lancaster We stay here twice a year. Once in November and another in the summer. It is clean, friendly, etc. You have a great breakfast in the morning. They call it continental, however, it is a mini buffet. The wait staff is fabulous and always goes the extra mile to prepare something special if you are allergic, etc. I would recommend this place over any of them on Route 30. It is the BEST! The building and rooms are actually older than the pictures would lead you to believe and thus I found the rooms a to be a little small. That being said, they still had all the crucial elements of a Holiday Inn Express that you'd expect. Our toilet was a little dysfunctional, but not a show-stopper. Breakfast was great, as always. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rockvale Motel Our room was obviously refurbished recently. The plumbing was bright and shiny. The bed was VERY comfortable, and the couch was a nice touch. If I were to stay longer say three or more days a table or desk would be good. Everything was clean and well cared for. My only complaint was the noise generated by the room air conditioner and the little fridge. The front desk was a lot friendlier than your web sight. November 12, 2013
