Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Breakfast and staff Went for our Anniversary, so very disappointed hot tub was not operating to relax. Got away from kids 1 night only, so was a let down. Room was freezing when we arrived, had to turn up heat and go out for dinner so room would warm up. The room was clean, staff was nice and breakfast was good. January 5, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Smokers Paradise I love Holiday Inn Express Hotels and stay at them when ever possible. However, we rented two room and they both smelled strongly of smoke. No one in our party smokes, so this was not pleasant. Then, the staff slid a note under our door while we were in our room one evening saying that smoke was smelled on our floor and if we were smoking in our room we would be fined! I agree with that rule, but we weren't smoking, and our room reeked of smoke from the second we arrived. January 1, 2015

Took care of the problem, offered a room change to get away from it, used air freshener to help reduce odor, and took it upon themselves to give bonus points for the inconvenience! South access door was always left open making card reader useless. Spa was borderline over temp one night then room temp the next. Still an overall nice stay. December 23, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad, but a few issues. I stay here often on business and the hotel is always clean with nice and quick staff. The card readers on the entrance doors seem to be under repair a lot and the breakfast, while the same as most IHG hotels, is sub-par compared to other HIEs. Railroad noise is sometimes an issue, but it would be anywhere in Lapeer and I'm a very light sleeper. Several food options next door is nice. December 15, 2014
