Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ft. Sill/Lawton Holiday Inn Express I have stayed at this Holiday Inn Express several times while in Lawton. Generally, I find it to be good. This time was uncharacteristic for the chain. The staff at the front desk was very helpful (even though they did not ask me about the complimentary water for my Club awards). The young lady did go out of her way to help in finding another Holiday Inn Express that would take pets for my return trip home. The room was another story. The musty smell, which I am guessing was from the water sitting by the sign on the building (which I was right in front of) was strong. Knowing that it was a busy weekend for the hotel because of the ceremonies taking place, I did not ask to be moved. The floor was dirty around the edges which made me feel a bit uncomfortable as well as to the complete cleanliness of the room. And, the towels and shower rug were not replaced in the morning. These are just little things but did lower my opinion of the hotel. The breakfast area on Saturday morning was messy and the food was almost gone (and this was before 8:00 am). In the past I have been happy with the condition of the area but that morning it was quite unsatisfactory. I would stay here again because for the most part, I have been satisfied with the hotel in the past. May 18, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Differrent Room Same Low Quality I stayed at this property last week and had a bad experience with room cleanliness and deteriorating quality of furniture. Well I already had a reservation to stay again so I decided to give it a try. Apparently the General Manager and the franchise owner have just quit caring or trying. I will be posting pictures of the room to enhance the point. last week the mattress had a big tear alone the side and the housekeeper told me it was 13 years old and would be expected to have some issues. I do not feel clean in this property and will not be staying again until there is evidence on improvement. May 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Property neglected and housekeeping staff horrible Here is a letter written to the general manager which received a pleasant reply but no noticeable action: "I am a Spire member and a very frequent guest of your property and have a reservation to stay again next week. I have had a problem or two in the years I have used your property but this trip is leading me to believe that the property quality is seriously fading. I checked in on Monday afternoon and my room had a dead bug on the bathroom floor and a used towel hanging on the back of the door. Tuesday I returned to the room after five and found the room had not been serviced. I went to the front desk and felt I was being accused of having the do not disturb sign on the door. I requested that the room be serviced and after the service the bugs were still on the floor in the bathroom. Wednesday morning I notified the front desk as I was leaving for work that the bugs were still on the floor and I was killing additional bugs. When I returned from work in the afternoon the bugs were still on the floor and the garbage had not been emptied in the room. I called the front desk and ask that the room be serviced because of how I found it. " May 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Has Gone Down Hill Have been coming to this particular HI Express since they have opened and this was my worst stay to date. My room wasn't ready upon arrival and once I got into the room the trash wasn't empty. Wasn't recognized as a Platinum Member, that's not the end of the world, but it is a question on the survey HI sends out. As for the Internet, it was difficult to sign on at first and I was only able to connect one device using the pass code I was given. In addition, on the second day, the Internet was down upon returning from work. May 14, 2016

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ok place for a weekend My wife and I stayed here for a weekend for a trip to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. The hotel was clean enough. Location was convenient right off the highway. The bed was actually very comfortable which I was really thankful for. On the negative side, we had two issues. The breakfast was out of food way too early and the selection wasn't good anyway. On our first morning, all the meat was gone with 45 minutes before breakfast ended. Our second morning was similar but the meat was eventually restocked. The other negative was that we asked for towels to be sent to our room before our hike at 8:30AM. We got back at 1PM and still had no towels. We called the lobby and they said they would send someone right up. Well it was 30 minutes before we saw the towels after that. The front desk attendant seemed very apologetic but it seemed like they were understaffed. May 9, 2016
