I stayed recently on the 4th floor here and reported that there was a strange, drains-like, smell in the bathroom. A chap came up to clean the bathroom again pretending that he had a cold and couldn't smell anything. The clean made absolutely no difference & there I was stuck with this smell overnight as the hotel was full.
The business model for HIE seems to be based around cutting staff numbers so tight that no one was even available to bring an iron & ironing board up the next morning to the room.
I shan't be returning

Myself and my friends ( 7 in total ) were delighted with the whole experience of staying at the Holiday Inn Express, Leeds. The standard of accommodation and the quality of food and staff was first class and I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and colleagues, thoroughly enjoyable ! Well done to all staff concerned !!

We stayed here as a group using 4 hotel rooms and it was a really good experience the car park was available - the service at the reception was fantastic both helpful and human ! We were told about the facilities and anything else we needed ! So we all went up to the 5th floor rooms were very clean and well presented and we asked for rooms next to each other which the hotel made happen, rooms were well heated or air conditioned and the power shower was well appreciated ! The bar service was also good and again great service ! Breakfast was good and good choice - just maybe more coffee machines but layout and service again very good, great set up and would we would stay here again as we travel 4 times year - great set up and the service was 10 out of 10 !!

We found the staff during our stay were exceptionally obliging, and made us feel very welcome. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and we would not hesitate to use your facilities again.

What bills itself as a city centre hotel and in reality isnt.Rooms ok but noise from adjacent rooms and corridors very audible. Breakfast ok but not replenished regularly and limited in stock. Overall average at best

However, I found the room to be by cold, and the heating was not working great, though in fairness I think it's this new type of air conditioned heating that most hotels are using, I much prefer the electric radiators, they actually heat the room up,
I would stay again but I think I will take my wooly socks and pyjamas

Good staff keep this place going. The rooms are basic; OK but no where near as good as Premier Inn. You have to request an electriic heater as the upper rooms can be cold and the air con heating is too noisy to leave on - keeps you awake and it's not very effective. No heating or heated towel rail in the bathroom so towels are damp from last night.. Main entrance needs auto doors - can be hard to get through two sets of swing doors when carrying luggage. Souless bar and lounge area. Evening meals basic but OK if you want a quick bite but eat out if you want something decent. Breakfasts are grim. Awful "scrambled egg" [yellow/grey mud] sausages tastless, cheap sliced bread. Croisants stale and dry. Coffee from a machine is bitter and just about drinkable. Best to get breakfast elsewhere.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. Staff was very friendly und polite to us.
Our room was clean and the bathroom was beautiful with enough space for us.
Breakfast was fine and my sister could have breakfast there although she did not sleep in the hotel. That was great!
I can recommend this hotel and we were very happy about our stay.
We were a little bit sad that there was no restaurant for evenings in this hotel but mostly we were very satiesfied.

We have stayed at this hotel twice now and enjoyed both visits and will definitely book again. The original booking was because of its proximity to the Tannery where our Daughter is staying. We enjoyed it so much that we booked it again. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is pretty basic but it is well cooked and there is always plenty off it. Even though the hotel was full the last time we went, mostly with stags and hens, there was no noise at all. The car park is in front of the hotel and barrier controlled. If you are a priority club memeber the cost comes down from £6 to £3 per day. Which is far cheaper than other car parks nearby

Great location , hotel , staff and great breakfast , but the bed's and pillow's were so hard . There were four in our party and not one of us had a good nights sleep. It is such a shame because i do like this hotel, but i'm afraid I would not say again .
