The Location is ideal for the shops. You can park in the underground car park. The room was spotless. The restaurant was good. The breakfast was good. The bar was good (apart from there was no Guinness) .But last and not least, the staff were first class. Would definitely recommend to friends, and foe.

Location is very convenient to eating establishments, main train station, bus system, and downtown shopping. The staff go out of their way to make a guests stay pleasant. Second time there for an extended period and would choose it again.

Great location - only 5 minute walk into Harrogate. The room was spotless and we enjoyed the very comfortable queen size bed. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was hot and offered a lot of choice. One of the attractions was a car park with plenty of spaces, however, the spaces are very tight so be careful. Overall a good value for money hotel and would recommend to others and certainly stay again when next visiting Harrogate.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn overnight on the 22 February 2014.
Our room was very clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable.
We were checked in by Joanna and she explained everything to us very clearly and then took us up to our room. Joanna made us feel very welcome.
We would recommend this Holiday Inn to our friends and family for a stay.

When we arrived our room was available and check in went smoothly, reception staff were friendly and polite. On a cold February day the hotel was pleasantly warm and relaxing. Our room was modern, clean, spacious and comfortable.
Our evening meal in the hotel restaurant proved to be a good experience, the range and quality of the food was very good, our waiter was helpful and efficient without being intrusive. We eventually retired to our room feeling well satisfied.
Next morning we found the buffet breakfast restaurant very quiet which did result in some of the food sitting under the heating lamps for slightly too long, having said that the range of food was excellent and tasty. Even when quiet, small queues formed at the do it yourself toaster and also the tea and coffee machines which does tend to interrupt your eating experience.
All in all our stay was very enjoyable and we would not hesitate in recommending The Holiday Inn Harrogate.

This hotel is in a very convient location for visiting Harrogate and is only 10 minutes walk to the town centre shops and attractions.
The hotel rooms are well furnished and clean and generally very comfortable. Our only issue was the the pillows provide, although both soft and firm pillows are provide neither are very good and not particularly comfortable. There are plenty of good restaurants close by. Overall we had a good stay.

Booked a Reward Night to have a weekend getaway to celebrate wife's birthday. All rooms were the same rate so we booked a Double Suite although we were allocated a Twin Suite on arrival. Check-in staff were very friendly and efficient. We had booked a meal in the town so did not use the restaurant. Only slight disappointment was the car park fee - £7 a day in a provincial town is a bit steep especially as I only paid £1 a day in a London suburb Holiday Inn Express recently. Overall a very comfortable stay and would return again.

We stayed at your hotel on the 31st December as we had tickets for The Blues Bar - what a wonderful evening that was!! The suite was great and we have booked to return again next New Years Eve for 2 nights again in the suite!! It isn't much dearer than a room so I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised - it was two rooms and really nice - hence why I want to stay the two nights and take advantage.
There were two issues though:
1# Whilst we all appreciate speedy checkins mine was a joke! My name and address were taken, I was then handed an envelope and told everything I need including the room number is in the envelope and that was it - no have you stayed here before, will you be wanting breakfast, do you know where the lifts are and that you need to insert the room key to operate the lift ,or oh you are platinum here is your free drink voucher and welcome etc etc - actually just no welcome at all!! Far from the Leeds Crowne Plaza or Camden experience!! Actually far from all the IHG experiences that I would normally highly rate!
I moved away from the counter and checked the envelope and it just contained a welcome letter and a key card. Fortunately, Tod #I think?# was now serving someone else so I went to the lady receptionist and she was more helpful. ie she gave me the number of the room, explained where the lifts were and that we had to use the keycard to operate the lift. We still didn't receive a free drink voucher though - There was a large sign saying sign up and you get a free dink voucher and as Platinum we normally get snacks too - usually nuts but very welcomed :#
I dont know why I was dismissed in this way by the original male receptionist? I know I was checking in alone, but that was only because my husband was parking the car. I am a professional person and tidy. It was New Years Eve but the reception was not busy at all - two people on and usually one available - I know as my poor husband was parking the car and took about 1/2 to find possibly the only space left! so I was left just watching what was going on.
2) We were charged £7 for parking - not excessive I know, but on exiting the carpark we found out it was "free passage" so I think that we were incorrectly charged.
I emailed the hotel who apologised but whilst they said that the barrier wasn't working we still had to pay. The sign said free passage!! That surely is different! It was a bank holiday so possibly free - like Sundays! They apologised for the lack of attention at reception but didn't offer to refund the parking #Which I think was free on that day - free passage!!# or offer an additional free drink voucher for next time we stay - I know it isn't much but it is the details that end up bothering us far later!!! I forget how lovelly the room was but cant get over the check in and will probably always use it as an example of really poor customer service! From a company that usually has such amazing good service! Different locations!! Is IHG a franchise??? That may explain things!
I cant comment on food or the bar as we didn't eat or drink here.
The location is great for Harrogate!
There is parking for the Hotel and The Conference Centre at the hotel.
I am looking forward to checking out the amenities next time we stay as we are there for two nights so will have longer to appreciate the hotel

When we arrived we found the public area's of the hotel were very cold. The heating system was blowing out cold air on what was a freezing cold December day. We went in to the bar, it was empty, we were the only customers but after purchasing a drink we soon discovered why, it was too cold. We took our drinks in to the reception area but after 5 minutes decided it was too cold to remain there. We headed for our room where we found there was some warmth. On checking in we had been given a letter saying the restaurant would be closed that evening but food would be available in the bar. Early evening we were ready for some food so we revisited the bar. It was still cold and still empty. Due to this we couldn't use the bar lounge or reception so we were forced to go out in the evening for a meal, we found that due to it being Christmas eve all the restaurants were full so we ended up buying a "take away" bringing it back to the hotel and eating it in our suite. Because of the terrible weather and the lack of warmth in the public area's of the hotel we spent the whole of our stay confined to our room. It did ruin Christmas Eve for us. The staff were friendly, polite and apologetic but that didn't change the situation.

The hotel is in a good central location that was easy to find and had good parking. Check in was efficient and polite. The rooms were clean and quiet and the breakfast had a great choice. The use of a good gym and swimming pool was a bonus!

Me my husband and a group of friends had a very comfortable stay at The Holiday Inn Hotel in Harrogate. I would like to thank all the staff but especially the man at the desk in reception when we arrived on Saturday and the same man when we left on Sunday he was very polite and welcoming to all of us.

Our two days at Holiday Inn were very comfortable and excellent value for money. Good location and everything we needed was provided. Just one downer - kids skateboarding round the secure car park was not what I expected from a hotel chain of this calibre

On arriving at the holiday inn at Harrogate with my family, we parked our car in the underground car park and headed to reception. We duly checked in and was given our room number, I was then asked my level of membership and duration of our stay (normally on our holiday inn stays this information is already known by the hotel check in staff). We proceeded to our room to then find that there were no beds made up for our children and also we were short of 2 towels (we booked for 2 adults, 2 children). We contacted the hotel reception to make them aware of this situation and they arranged for the rooms to be made up accordingly. Later we proceeded to the restaurant and an excellent meal served by a very friendly and attentive waitress. The following day on check out we were presented with a bill for the wrong amount. This was pointed out by ourselves and the bill was corrected. I feel that this hotel is clean, modern, well located and well presented however I feel that it is let down by charging for parking in a parking area that is owned by the hotel. Also the receptionists would benefit from additional training.
The bill was out by £151.05

I have stayed in other Holiday Inn hotels. This was not a great experience.
Parking was terrible.
There was a constant drone all night coming from downstairs.
At breakfast, the heating was jammed ON in the dining area, making it unbearable, as there was no way of opening windows and to be told there were no engineers available to fix the problem.
next time I visit Harrogate I think I will give this Hotel a miss.
Sorry but it was disapointing.

Hotel room was comfortable and very convenient for the conference centre. Only a 10 Minute walk to the train station. Room service was okay but breakfast was appalling. We also found many great restaurants near by.

the room was clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly, and generally our stay was a very pleasent, the location of the hotel was excellent in relation to the shopping centre.
i would certainly re book this hotel if i received a similar promotion offer.

Enjoyed an overnight stay here in November.
Whilst the room was quite dark, it was the standing lamp that didn't work. The reception staff were incredibly helpful and within five minutes came to the room to try and fix it, unable to fix the light, they instantly brought a standard lamp borrowed from the dining room! I found then very resourceful and responsive.
The only negative was that there Was no on site pool, it's 10 minutes away,

The booking information held at reception did not include the breakfast and dinner booking I had made by email with the Assistant Revenue Manager but luckily I had the email on my phone and the helpful receptionist quickly added the details.
I did not find the bed comfortable, It was as if it rose to a hump in the middle - perhaps to combat the normal sinking due to body weight - but the room was clean and comfortable and the towels were exceptionally thick and luxurious.

Everytime somebody closes the door next room, youcan hear it...was woken up twice by this...for the charges charged wouldnt hav stayed if it wasnt for the convenikence of the conf. Centre! Also after booking when uou ring the call terminated in egypt where the girl hsd no idea about my booking!

mix up on booking thought I was on winter deal. not best deal available.at reception booked dinner for two nights. told on second night could not use restaurant private function but could use bar. not acceptable.had to go out side into town.on departure at reception was going to be charged. for two breakfasts and dinner.as I thought I was on winter deal money already paid at booking. will be checking bank account.

Great check and recognised as a Platinum member and facilitated and early check in for me which was excellent.
My only disappointment with this hotel is that the Laundry service is not good and twice now I have ended going back to the hotel at the end of the day to find that my laundry was still sitting on reception unwashed or ironed. This is not good when one is travelling and minimising on what one takes. The hotel did offer to wash themselves but not the same as outside services.
Please sort your laundry as this I believe will loose you trade

Only minus is the car park which has really tiny and sometimes strangely shaped spaces
