Having not stayed at a Holiday Inn for some time i must say our experience was a cut above many of their rivals.
Whilst standards elsewhere appear on the decline, Holiday Inn have in our opinion highered theirs.
The staff we encountered were all exceptionally pleasant and attentative, exceeding expectations.
The hotel and the accommodation within were well designed, light and airy.
The location of the hotel is also excellent, laying on the opposite bank of the canal from the city centre, in a quiet
area, directly next to The Armouries, whist being no more than ten minutes steady walk from the centre.

I had to stay in Leeds for health reasons and was pleasantly surprised with the courtesy and efficiency at which my stay was managed. I was able to access my room early and everything was clearly explained in detail and exactly as described.

Friendly welcome. Clean and comfortable room. Quiet despite the hotel being busy.Efficient service for breakfast with plenty of choice. Interesting location by the Canal and convenient for the University Of Leeds.Helpful staff at the multi-storey carpark adjacent to the hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mazza89 Good room, poor breakfast
I chose this hotel for the location as it is right next to the New Dock Hall where I was attending a function.
The room was of a decent standard though could have done with a lick of paint. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was good.
I thought the tea/coffee provisions were a bit limited with only one tea bag each but it wasn't a problem as we were out most of the time.
There was a lot of noise from the street so had to keep the window closed.
The downside of our stay was the breakfast. It looked ok but tasted bland. Watery eggs, bland sausages and tasteless beans. No bacon or tomatoes etc so limited in choice. Had to ask for the fruit jugs to be refilled and glasses to drink from.
Reception staff were efficient and booking in and out was easy and quick.
Luckily I was able to book the saver price as I don't think it is worth the full price on the night.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Kiaya90 poor service uncomfortable bed
staff at checkout were unhelpful and lazy food was supposed to be served until ten (as stated on menu and other check in staff had told another customer) but when we wanted to order they wouldn't serve anything other than pizza. Didn't even mention that there was a restaurant 100 yds away or inform us of other alternatives. Most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on and noisy air con unit buzzing outside window all night long.

Visited the Armouries in Leeds City Centre on business. Finished early one day and visited the Armouries museum just around the corner, for free. Went for an evening meal in the city centre which is a short walk away. Able to access the free internet in my room to Skype home. Breakfast was good, selection of hot or cold foods. Evening menu did not have a great selection but the food was of good quality. Obtained a parking permit for the small car park at the front of the hotel which was added to my bill, saving me from going in and out of the multi-storey car park during my 3 night stay.
Staff were friendly and helpful and room was clean and tidy.

Stayed at the Leeds Holiday Inn Express - Armouries, for one night. Location very good. Room was comfortable and adequate for our needs. We walked into town in the evening not too far at all. Would recommend this particular Holiday Inn.
