Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Poor bed ruined otherwise good hotel... You know what to expect when you stay at a Holiday Inn Express, at least, that's what I thought. The price was good, the staff were excellent, the free breakfast perfectly adequate … but the bed was horrendous! The room was clean and had the requisite facilities. The choice of soft or firm pillows is a nice touch, but it's all pointless if the bed is simply unusable. The mattress was thin and the base sagged terribly. To say we both rolled into the middle is simply an understatement. I barely got any sleep, due to having to lie at an unnatural angle. Given that the prime reason for booking a hotel is to get some sleep at a location away from home, this hotel failed to fulfil its purpose. Sort out some quality beds and the hotel would be pretty much faultless !! March 26, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A few wrinkles but all in all a good stay We have stayed here several times and always found the staff to be pleasant, attentive and intelligent. However, as before, the bed base for the mattresses are unstable and cause a "floating" sensation that is annoying to me. In addition this time we were given a room where the bathroom/toilet lights did not work (room 109). The staff quickly changed our room without fuss (to 115). All these minor problems did not detract from our stay. We will be back (hopefully you can find us a double room with a firm mattress base!). February 27, 2015
