My stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Leesville was okay. The front desk staff was friendly and asked almost every day if everything was okay with my room and if there was anything they could do for me. The hotel itself looked fine. It did appear a little dark inside. The wall coloring is a little too dark. I had no issues with something not working. The mattresses weren't that great felt kind of hard. I also only had firm pillows instead of a choice. All in all the hotel provided everything needed for a decent business trip.

The hotel was clean and the front desk clerk during the day was very friendly and accommodating. However, the front desk clerk at night did not even know how to put sheets on a bed and not willing to even try.

Overall staying at this hotel was enjoyable, the staff was very friendly, and helpful. The front desk clerk recommended a great place to eat. The hotel was clean and neat, they did not have a swimming pool/sauna that was available during our stay. They said if we wanted we could use the one at the Hampton behind it. I did not use the wireless internet being a bit old fashioned, but the LAN wire in the room provided great internet speed and reliability. One issue I had with the inroom heat/airconditioning unit was that it appears that if you are not moving around (ie sleeping very soundly) it shuts off as it was generally off and warm in the room when I woke up, but when I would get up and start moving around the AC kicked back on.

The outside appearance of the hotel is neglected. The swimming pool was filthy with the water looking brown. The staff is inconsiderate of the needs and unique challenges of the frequent business traveler with no special consideration given to priority club members.

Close to Ft Polk. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Beds were excellent. Rooms were quiet.

I was in town on military orders and called HIE in Leesville if they can offer me the GOV rate. They said it would not be a problem as long as I showed them my orders. Upon checking in I was acknowledged as a PLT Member but was told that my stay would accumulate zero points due to being 'military rate' I quickly stated that I have stayed at military rates all across the U.S and this is the First time this has happened to me ever. If this was the case, why didn't they mention this to me over the phone. I would have gladly stayed somewhere else that would offer me military rate to include the points. Midway through my stay I received a courtesy call and was asked how my stay is going, which I mentioned the zero points and asked if I could pay the difference when checking out and they said that I could. Unfortunately, upon checking out the person gracefully denied me, even after I explained my statement above. Good place to stay, but I will deny any government personnel attempting to stay here if they are trying to get points. This HIE GOV rate is above the perdiem rate. I expect management to contact me about this.
Pros: they have managers night on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Pizza, Nachos and beer. Recommendations they should leave the juice machine on for the kids and non alcoholic drinkers. I noticed kids eating pizza but could not drink anything else for all they had was beer.
