Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CLEAN CLEAN AND CLEAN I appreciated the assistance Norah extended. She was patient with me and listened carefully to what I was saying. After receiving my room key I drove around to the side entrance when the clouds parted and the RAINS fell. An employee retrieved an umbrella to assist my getting inside with as little water on me as possible. The room was perfect! It was clean, inviting, not too big nor too little. I felt comfortable. I had to leave for a bit but when I returned there was a card from Norah. She remembered I was in town for a funeral. I was touched, she did not have to give me a card. I found out the next morning she had also extended her condolences to my mother's husband in the same manner. Thank you Norah for all your help and your acts of kindness. October 16, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Service was good The front desk clerk was extremely kind and helpful as well as the housekeeping staff. The motorcycle gang revved up their engines at 10:15 pm until the authorities were called; the elevator was broken and the breakfast was unlike any other served at Holiday Inn Express. The gym equipment was broken so we had to go to Ft. Polk base to exercise and then come back to the hotel. This is the ideal hotel for people that love to hunt wild game. October 15, 2014

We used your hotel because we were in town for a funeral, your staff was extremely compassionate to us. Any question asked was answered quickly and with sincerity. It was a pleasure to stay in your hotel and if the need arises I would happily stay at your fine establishment and will loudly proclaim your merits to family and friends traveling in the area. May I suggest adding an other button for reason for travel. I entered meetings/conference but was in the area due to a family funeral. Not everyone travels for business and/or pleasure and other would provide insight to why someone was traveling in this specific area, and if someone can have a good experience at a hotel under stressful situations as mine, it says alot about your facility and your staff. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Meh Staff is very friendly. Breakfast was tastey. The biggest downside is that the hotel smelled not so good 7/10 nights stayed. The smell was somewhere between mildew and farts but the room smell was the worst the first few days because of the cleaning solution they used which had a strong chemical/baby powder smell. I left houskeeping notes not to use the cleaning solution and bought some air freshner which helped out the situation. September 16, 2014

I use a range of hotels, including the Ritz Carleton at times so have a good understanding of what customer service should look like. The Leesville Ft Polk holiday Inn set a new standard. I particularly liked the hand written note welcoming me to my room. I can't guarantee the experience for others but for my stay it was outstanding. Thank you! September 10, 2014

The only negative thing I have to say is the hotel smelled strongly of mildew in the hallway when I first arrived but there was no smell in the room. The staff opened the doors on either end of the hotel to air the place out. The staff and facilities were great and the Wednesday night managers special was a great surprise. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hand written notes I won "guest of the day" and received a special parking place, a gift basket of snacks and two hand written notes- one in the basket, and one on my bedside table. Little things like that go really far with me. The staff was super friendly and I still can't believe they took the time to hand write me personalized notes. Without the extra touch, my stay would have been just been ordinary. I mean, who looks forward to a work trip in the Fort Polk area? August 25, 2014

The front desk staff was friendly and asked almost every day if everything was okay with my room and if there was anything they could do for me. The hotel itself looked fine. It did appear a little dark inside. The wall coloring is a little too dark. I had no issues with something not working. The mattresses weren't that great felt kind of hard. I also only had firm pillows instead of a choice. All in all the hotel provided everything needed for a decent business trip. August 15, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday INN Express Leesville LA Overall staying at this hotel was enjoyable, the staff was very friendly, and helpful. The front desk clerk recommended a great place to eat. The hotel was clean and neat, they did not have a swimming pool/sauna that was available during our stay. They said if we wanted we could use the one at the Hampton behind it. I did not use the wireless internet being a bit old fashioned, but the LAN wire in the room provided great internet speed and reliability. One issue I had with the inroom heat/airconditioning unit was that it appears that if you are not moving around (ie sleeping very soundly) it shuts off as it was generally off and warm in the room when I woke up, but when I would get up and start moving around the AC kicked back on. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Did not recieve points for my stay for Military rate I was in town on military orders and called HIE in Leesville if they can offer me the GOV rate. They said it would not be a problem as long as I showed them my orders. Upon checking in I was acknowledged as a PLT Member but was told that my stay would accumulate zero points due to being 'military rate' I quickly stated that I have stayed at military rates all across the U.S and this is the First time this has happened to me ever. If this was the case, why didn't they mention this to me over the phone. I would have gladly stayed somewhere else that would offer me military rate to include the points. Midway through my stay I received a courtesy call and was asked how my stay is going, which I mentioned the zero points and asked if I could pay the difference when checking out and they said that I could. Unfortunately, upon checking out the person gracefully denied me, even after I explained my statement above. Good place to stay, but I will deny any government personnel attempting to stay here if they are trying to get points. This HIE GOV rate is above the perdiem rate. I expect management to contact me about this. Pros: they have managers night on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Pizza, Nachos and beer. Recommendations they should leave the juice machine on for the kids and non alcoholic drinkers. I noticed kids eating pizza but could not drink anything else for all they had was beer. August 4, 2014

Breakfast options were very few meaning there was almost nothing available at all. In addition pancake machine out of order. We even asked staff about food and paper products and were told they were out. Business center was also out of order and closed. August 3, 2014
