This is everything you expect from a HEI. Breakfast was fantastic, and the staff was attentive and friendly. The desk staff always greeted everyone, and smile around. Beds were firm and linens clean.
But we also failed to get messages from desk staff, they couldn't answer even the most basic questions about business within a few hundred yards. We asked two staff members about a liquor store, and they had no idea. Stepping out of the lobby, I saw one across the street. Asking about restaurants, no recommendations. In fact there is a great Mexican place about 100 yards across the parking lot. Friendly but clueless.
If the choice between this and the other HEI property on the north side of town, take the other property. But both sell out, so get reservations early. This property is closer to downtown. Being a college town downtown is a lot of fun.

understaffed at the front desk. The clerk was doing "his best", the hotel seemed to be full, the city was full and only one clerk at a peak check in time.
Guest room bath needs repair for the shower and electrical outlets.
Very convenient to UK - which is the only advantage.

LOVELY front desk staff but everything else very, very basic indeed. Improvements ongoing so may be better with an update. Freight trains very close by and noisy.

Great location for everything we wanted to do in Lexington and beyond. Friendly staff is a real asset. Clean well kept hotel. We're definitely coming back!

There wasn't a single interaction with staff that wasn't pleasant. The clerk who checked us in was great, and we didn't even have a clue he was a new trainee until he told us he needed to call for back-up when we needed help with the local map. The manager who was helping him out was also very nice, despite working around the clock to cover a hole in his staffing. The breakfast host was hilarious and careful to make sure we were all warned when she was wrapping things up for the morning. All in all, it was exactly what we needed for the trip. Our only complaint was that the location isn't exactly convenient to walk to, but the facility itself is well kept, the value was good, and the staff was especially hospitable.

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful with directions. Nice free breakfast in the morning. Room was comfortable and clean. Nice bathrooms well stocked with soap, shampoo and lotions.

I was with my family heading west, and we needed a place to stop overnight. We got a non-smoking room with two beds. We asked for an upgrade for the same price and got a nice suite. It was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was good.

We travel a lot and stay in a lot of hotels. This was one of the best ever ! The suite was awesome; the fitness room was good; the indoor pool was great. It is a beautiful and well-kept hotel. The crowning touch was the staff, and in particular - Kyle. He was at the front desk when we checked in. He was very friendly and helpful. During our stay, anytime we called to ask something, he was more than happy to help with any of our needs. Kyle is a great asset to this hotel. Thank you, Kyle, for making our stay at this hotel "over the top".

Being a Silver card holder, I can say the hotel and staff recognized this and treated me like a king, by calling me by name every time I went by the desk. Excellent place to stay.

This HIE is why I stay with Holiday Inn. I can count on what I am going to find when I show up - friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed, and a good breakfast. I have stayed at this HIE on several occasions over the past 5 years and it is always great. Congrats to the staff!

This hotel needs help. I could not find anyone to check in. When I left I could not find anyone to check out so I could get my reciept. I had to call them on my cell phone from the front desk. When they finally answered. They said my reciept was not done printing and they would send it to me by e-mail. I never did find anyone. I am still waiting for the reciept.
The room was run down. Not what I expect rom Holiday Express.

This is one of the dumpier HI Express facilities I have stayed in. The shower never got more than lukewarm. The room furniture and carpet looked old and the place was 20 minutes from I75 heading south.

Internet requires joining T Mobile. (Ridiculous!) It should be unlimited and free access.)
No fridge or microwave.
Bedside clock not visible.
Hotel needs updating.
One in room luggage rack. Two people normally carry two bags.

I made a late reservation,
I had a big dog,
my daughter and I got there late,
we had a ton of bags,
our car battery died over night
and the staff was very pleasant, helpful and quick to serve (especially Charles who helped us jump start the car!)!
This stay and this Holiday Inn are why I have been a Priority Club member about 10 years (you should ask about our great stay in the Washington DC area last year!), and I expect to be one for a long time to come.

We have stayed in this hotel a number of times and love the convenient location and the amenities. The hotel is clean and well-maintained. The breakfast options are great and make the stay a real pleasure. Although there was construction in the pool area, they put us in a room away from the construction. We could not get the treadmill to work but the elliptical and stationary bike were fine. We'd definitely stay here again.

We have been traveling into Lexington for the past 3 years to visit our daughter attending UK. We have made the Holiday Inn Express/Downtown Lexington out home away from home. It may not be a fancy hotel, but I can assure you it is always clean, the staff always willing to help whether it is directions, recommendations or service and definitely close to the university. Highly recommend this hotel, definitely a best value with 5-star service!
