Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service and clean rooms I did not have a reservation, due to the fact that I was unsure if I would make it to Lexington that evening. I arrived at 3:30 am and the gentleman working the desk did a wonderful job finding me a room and making sure I got the best deal for my money. Unfortunately, all that was available was a smoking room, but the gentleman at the desk made sure to let me know that the next day they would switch my room. The next morning when I came down the people at the desk took care of swapping my room and the manager even came up to make sure everything was good in my new room. Anytime during my stay the front desk was very helpful with any questions that I had. You have a wonderful staff at the downtown Lexington location. Thank you for making my first visit to Lexington a great experience. :) September 8, 2013

Helped me to get a first floor room so I wouldn't have to fight doors/elevators bringing college student's chaos into our room. Upon check out mentioned a necessary maintenance issue with shower curtain bar to clerk. He didn't seem concerned; didn't write down issue---just said OK. August 28, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by In a pinch DO not splurge for the king "suite" with jacuzzi tub! NO microwave or refrigerator! The jest on the tub were dirty and would not use it. The hot tub was only warm and jets did not work. The pool was cloudy. Also I requested when reservations made to have ac turned on so when we arrived it was a cool room as we were ridding and new we would be extremely hot. This was not done. No cold water bottles or snacks of any sort when check in. Good point was the breakfast lady was a hoot and made the morning super fun!! August 27, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor customer service Reserved a 3 night stay and checked in and left the next morning for work. Came back after working 14 hours and just wanted to eat my pizza I had bought and get to bed. Went to my room the key didn't work, set everything down and found the second key, it didn't work either. Picked everything up walked down to the lobby desk as 2 people were waiting to check in. Stood there for about 10 minutes getting agitated as the clerk tried to do his best working alone. He finally got to me handed him my room cards told him they did not work he took my name looked it up and apologized and gave me two new keys. Went back up to my room and the keys worked fine but there someone else in my room. Went back down talked to the desk got put up in a different room. clerk called said he talked to the manager and since I didn't leave anything in my room (I only travel with my scrubs in a small bag and take it to work) she took it upon herself to check me out. said she called my cell phone which I gave them at check in but no call or voicemail ever came through. they didn't upgrade my room only an offer of rewards points that never was told how many and they didn't come through anyways. Stayed 2 more nights and did not receive a phone call or a personal apology from the hotel manager. Very disappointed at how things were handled more so then the act but that was wrong as well. Looks like my 3 nights a week and my coworkers will be spent at a competitors hotel that knows the value of a guest and how to act when mistakes happen. August 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent hotel w/ minor problems The room was outstanding as was the staff. The minor issues dealt with the pool area, the Spa was non functional as was the pool shower. There was also a shortage of pool towels which was quickly corrected upon informing the staff. These are minor issues at best. There was an issue with the iron in the room which was prompty dealt with. The staff was superb making excellent dining suggestions and interacting well with the children. All in all an excellent Hotel of the kind that set the standards for the IHG chain. August 15, 2013

It's comfortable, close to everything around UK, and the people who work there are all very nice. It's clean and roomy, and we also enjoyed having the "mini kitchen" as part of the room. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of the Friendliest Staff Members I was after a very long 11 hours drive and the only thing I had in mind is eat, takes a shower and go to sleep. There is a variety of different restaurant near by. Walked 5 minutes had dinner and came back to the hotel. Took a shower and right into bed. The morning hot breakfast was perfect. Very satisfied. Will come again if I am in the area. All the stuff very friendly and cooperative. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great option to stay in this part of Lexington Bottom line, I would stay here again. Beds comfortable, room very clean, and breakfast was very good. Only opportunity for improvement: My room had two, large upholstered "sitting chairs", neither of which would fit under the room's desk, making the desk unusable for computer work or writing. Recommend replacing one of these sitting chairs with a hydraulic lift "office-like" chair appropriate for the use of the adjacent desk. August 4, 2013

Ac was so noisy that units in surrounding units were so noisy we thought that there was a nearby railroad track with noisy traIns passing by. We simply gave up on being able to rest and checked out as soon as we could get a bit of breakfast. HAVE NEER BEEN SO UNCOMFORTABLE IN ANY HOTEL/MOTEL ANYWHER. TOTALLY UNLIKE WHAE WE EXPECT FROM A HOLIDAY INN June 19, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Location We live in N.C.and visit Lexington every April and October for the Keeneland experience and have done so for the past 5 years. We also enjoy the downtown restaurants and always attend a play at UK..which by the way have always been amazing. We've only stayed exclusively at HI Expresses, this hotel twice. Love the location! Previously the HI Expresses had a frig in our room and we were surprised in Oct that this hotel didn't (they did find one shortly after our arrival# and they suggested that when we made our reservation for April we should request one. Which we did on Feb 1. for April 23-26! No refrigerator and never got one. I spoke to the Manager April, and on the last night of our stay she offered to change our room #I was told that only the Suites had refrigerators) but we were leaving the next day anyway. No point. She told me when we called for our October visit that we should call her personally and that she, as a courtesy, would upgrade us to a Suite. We will be back! I hope she will extend this courtesy to us as promised. Hotel was very nice, breakfast very adequate. Location, for us, the best! May 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by First Rate Property, Staff while friendly is a bit cluless This is everything you expect from a HEI. Breakfast was fantastic, and the staff was attentive and friendly. The desk staff always greeted everyone, and smile around. Beds were firm and linens clean. But we also failed to get messages from desk staff, they couldn't answer even the most basic questions about business within a few hundred yards. We asked two staff members about a liquor store, and they had no idea. Stepping out of the lobby, I saw one across the street. Asking about restaurants, no recommendations. In fact there is a great Mexican place about 100 yards across the parking lot. Friendly but clueless. If the choice between this and the other HEI property on the north side of town, take the other property. But both sell out, so get reservations early. This property is closer to downtown. Being a college town downtown is a lot of fun. May 4, 2013

The clerk was doing "his best", the hotel seemed to be full, the city was full and only one clerk at a peak check in time. Guest room bath needs repair for the shower and electrical outlets. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff There wasn't a single interaction with staff that wasn't pleasant. The clerk who checked us in was great, and we didn't even have a clue he was a new trainee until he told us he needed to call for back-up when we needed help with the local map. The manager who was helping him out was also very nice, despite working around the clock to cover a hole in his staffing. The breakfast host was hilarious and careful to make sure we were all warned when she was wrapping things up for the morning. All in all, it was exactly what we needed for the trip. Our only complaint was that the location isn't exactly convenient to walk to, but the facility itself is well kept, the value was good, and the staff was especially hospitable. April 12, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT Hotel ! We travel a lot and stay in a lot of hotels. This was one of the best ever ! The suite was awesome; the fitness room was good; the indoor pool was great. It is a beautiful and well-kept hotel. The crowning touch was the staff, and in particular - Kyle. He was at the front desk when we checked in. He was very friendly and helpful. During our stay, anytime we called to ask something, he was more than happy to help with any of our needs. Kyle is a great asset to this hotel. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Where is the staff? This hotel needs help. I could not find anyone to check in. When I left I could not find anyone to check out so I could get my reciept. I had to call them on my cell phone from the front desk. When they finally answered. They said my reciept was not done printing and they would send it to me by e-mail. I never did find anyone. I am still waiting for the reciept. The room was run down. Not what I expect rom Holiday Express. February 2, 2013
