Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All-around Great Stay! We had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. They even called our room after we checked in to make sure everything was to our liking. Our room was well kept and clean and the bed was VERY comfortable. It was quiet in the halls and we were never disturbed. The manager, I think his name was Ben (?), was very helpful and polite and answered all our questions before we even arrived. He (along with his staff) went out of his way to make sure our stay was exceptional! There is a great bright sign out front which makes the hotel easy to locate. This particular Holiday Inn Express has great curb appeal. Our room was equipped with a nice sized flat screen TV which was great! I know people don't normally leave reviews unless they had a bad experience but I wanted to go out of my way to mention how great this hotel and it's staff was. If you needed anything all you had to do was ask! Thanks so much to everyone who works there! March 22, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Front desk Poor experience with the clerks at the front desk. Upon arrival, three of us (all with same group) waited to check in. One clerk waited on us. A second cleark approached a second terminal at the front desk and then told us she was busy doing something else and could not check us in. Another party arrived after our group and was wating in line. When the second of our party was halfway through checkin, the second clerk waited on the party behind me. I eventually got checked in, but it was after the party who arrived after my group did. Apparently my tiem was not as valuable as the clerk's of the party behind me. Once I got to my room, i found that I was given a room where another party had already checked in. I returned to the front desk ann waited for another 15 minutes while the two clerks tried to figure out what happened so that I could get a vacant room The rooms were fine and the lady serving the breakfast was very helpful the next morning. I will not return to this location due to the probelms getting checked into the hotel. March 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff extremely friendly and helpful; hallways stunk of smoke :( Nice room, and my non-smoking room did not smell like it had been smoked in. (Yay!) :) However, there must have been plenty of smoking going on in the rooms around me -- the hallways reeked! The lobby was clean, breakfast good, and staff friendly. I would stay here again if I was in the area. March 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Staff I was in the area for work, It was a good experience over all. Got to speak with the Manager really nice guy. March 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff Great staff and good room.. Pretty clean and sits off the road far enough to be quiet. AC unit vibrates, but I find that in many hotels. March 11, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Areas of Concern Based on a wonderful recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Charleston, SC, we choose to stay at your Lexington, SC Inn. The food was good and the staff were polite. The cleanliness of the hotel should be addressed. There was viasible dirt in the stair well carpeted areas. Our air conditioner didn't work and the noise level wasn't good either. I didn't report the air conditioner problem, because our friends room next to ours reported theirs and nothing was done. But, the friends were given a suite and they were satisified. However, the morning I checked out, the attendant apologized for no one coming to service my air conditioner, so that told me they were well aware there was a problem with the unit. Our room was clean and we felt safe, but I would not stay there again nor could I in good conscience recommend this inn to a friend. On our second night there, the night desk attendant came to our room and inquired as to whether or not we had a leak in our room. There was water leaking through to the floor below us and would have had to have been underneath our beds. We allowed the lady to inspect our room and bathroom to see there was no leak. The areas needing to be addressed are fixable and should they raise their level to say the Charleston Inn, I would have no problem recommending or staying there again. March 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A good stay. This location is perfect for Lexington (soccer tournament)! It is in need of some noticable updates but nothing unsafe. I asked that my air conditioner be repaired and when I returned it had not been looked at. The front desk staff was willing to move me with no reluctance and I was impressed by that. The breakfast selection was decent but both mornings they ran out of food before the specified time, Yes I would stay here again, but for soccer - not luxury. March 9, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by room The front desk staff were very nice. However, the room and towels smelled like cigarette smoke. Towels were replaced in the room but the beds were not made. There was mold around the drain in the tub and the towel rack pulled apart. There wasn't much hot water for the morning shower...it was somewhat warm. The fan in the air unit had a loud rattle. This is the third year we stayed at this motel and had not had these problems in the past. We've stayed at other HIE and have not had these issues. February 17, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't stay here!!! This was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had - and I am a sports mom, so we are on the road all the time!! We checked in on a Friday evening, with 2 brand new employees working the front desk. It took over 30 minutes to get the keys to our room. Once we were given keys and went upstairs, our room keys didn't work. Back at the front desk we were told the keys were coded correctly and to "jiggle the door handle really hard". After a second trip upstairs and back down, the front desk staff finally agreed, very unpleasantly, to re-code the keys. When we were finally able to get into the room, we immediately realized we were in a smoking room, when we had requested non-smoking. We were told that there were no other rooms available upon inquiry. When we turned on the bathroom light, we realized it was hanging out of the ceiling...and the front of the toilet was covered in urine. Again, we went to the front desk, and after a lengthy discussion, the front desk agent agreed to come up and inspect the room. It was only then that we were moved to a different room - a non-smoking room at that! There was a party throughout the night - doors slamming and people running up and down the halls, screaming. When complaints were made to the front desk, we were told they couldn't do anything about it because there was only one female working and her manager wouldn't come in throughout the night. After zero sleep, we checked out and we were not even offered as much of an apology!! Not only was this hotel dirty, run down, and in serious need of an over-haul, the staff was rude and provided incredibly poor customer service. We will never stay at this hotel again and will serious look into whether we ever stay at a Holidy Inn Express again. February 15, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Could use a cleaning The desk staff was nice, however they did not recognize me as a Priority Member even tho I had the staff enter in my rewards number. The room was ok however the carpet was not clean at all, there were old food crumps on the floor in front of the couch. The breakfast was really not so good, the cin buns were hard like rocks not sure if they were old or just over cooked. The coffee was poor but thats pretty much in every Holiday Inn. The internet went out the night I stayed and when I aske the front desk the next morning why the internet was out they had no clue it wasnt working. The hotel is about 5 miles north of I 20 on 378 so a bit far but there are ample choices for places to eat. I would probably give them another try if I was in the area. January 10, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ? We are repeat customers in Lexington, however, our most recent experience in December was not what we expected. While the staff was not unfriendly, we did not have that home away from home feeling as in the past and the property had several maintenence issues, including a newly but poorly renovated bathroom. On a more positive note, the staff tending the breakfast area was excellent as always, and the cleaning people did an immaculate job. December 18, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wow...Disappointing This may be one of the dirtiest properties I have stayed in. Rooms were not clean and beds were not comfortable. The front desk charged the wrong card and struggled to get it fixed. December 15, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Run down, dirty! This was the worst Holiday Inn I've ever stayed in. The room was dirty, carpet torn and paint peeling in the bathroom. Avoid! December 13, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Run Down, dirty and LOUD!!! I am a long time priority member and have to say this was my worst experience at a Holiday Inn, ever. I stay almost 50 nights per year but I can confidently say I will not ever stay at this location again. The floors in the room were disgusting, there was left over trash under the desk and in the drawers of the bureau. There was a group of children that was staying at the hotel that was on my floor slamming the doors every two to three minutes from 9 pm until 11 pm. Even after walking down to complain at the front desk, no one went up to see why they were running from room to room. The mattresses were old and the beds felt like the head was lower than my feet. I am not exaggerating. Terrible experience. The breakfast was decent, but the pancake machine was out of order as well as the drink dispenser. Just another indicator of the lack of maintenance in the hotel. Was also not greeted as a priority member. November 26, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by a room for a handicapped customer, which I was not I had stayed in rooms for handicapped customers before, so I did not mind when I found that I had been placed in one. I did mind, however, that the large and cumbersome seat for bathroom use was still in the room. I asked the front desk to remove it, and was told that the manager would need to give permission. I was called later and told that the seat would be removed. The chest of drawers was broken. The microwave and refrigerator were old. The room was near the exit for the first floor, so the in-and-out of other customers at six in the morning was very noticeable. I often have stayed at Holiday Express Hotels and was very disappointed in this one. It was not worth its cost. Since I am a single female traveling alone, I do not ask to be moved to another room as a rule; I do not like to draw attention to my situation. November 25, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Service DO NOT STAY HERE PLEASE Is the worst Holiday Inn Express I ever stay. The worst service you will get is at the front desk after 3 or 4 pm. There is a young guy that work at night time and he could not help me with some internet issues I was having. I could not get my job done and the guy working at night time all he told me is "I dont know about computers"..... What kind of answer is that????? If you dont know something you can say I don't know much about that problem but I will find a solution for you. The other problem is that my toilet got plugged up and I call the same guy so he can help me and he told me to go to the front desk and get the plunger... Guys let me tell you something, if that guy at the front desk is not a people person you dont need to have him there. October 28, 2012
