Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Helpful Staff Hotel staff was extremely helpful and understanding. We had booked 2 nights under prepaid terms, but we had a medical emergency on our second day. The staff refunded us our money for the second night even though the prepaid terms were restrictive. This is the kind of customer service that keeps companies in business. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall Excellence From the staff greeting upon arrival to my departure, my experience was that of a five star hotel property. My rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was accommodating with any of our needs. The pool and hot tub were clean and available for use and the breakfast area was full of fresh items to eat along with being spotless. The hotel is located out of the hustle of a now popular shopping outlet area, but easily accessible. I would recommend this property to anyone traveling to the Lancaster area and would definitely stay here again! March 24, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Late Checkout = NO! As a Priority Club member I often need to take advantage of a late checkout. Having stayed at this location over a dozen times, I'm very accustomed to what they can and cannot provide. On this trip, I was told by the night time desk clerk that a late checkout would not be possible. Why? Because of the scheduling and/or availability of the housekeeping staff. Very disappointed! The morning clerk, however, granted me an extra hour and for that I was grateful. What is the story, HI Express, behind the late checkout? You actively promote this as a feature of your program, yet several times I been denied the feature at various locations due to housekeeping staff availability or scheduling! Is this the call of the "franchisee" or "franchisor"? PS Bed linens were really wrinkled! March 21, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast I stay at a lot of Holiday Inn Express hotels and the breakfast at your location is at the bottom of the list: Your bacon is terrible, undercooked and greasy. Your biskuts are as hard as rocks complicated by the fact that you do not serve susage gravy. Your eggs were cold Please get your act together so that I do not have to stay elswhere. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyed the stay.... not their coffee As good as our family's stay at the Lititz Holiday Inn Express was, the one thing I remember most was the horrible coffee served in the breakfast area. It was among the worst I have ever tasted. So bad, in fact, that I got in my car at 7am and drove a couple blocks down the street to get a decent cup from one of the national chains. I am not saying that you need to offer gourmet coffee.. just something that tastes a bit better that brown water. December 7, 2012

My choice to stay here is because of the cheerful atmosphere by both the staff and decor. The two young ladies working the front desk when I checked in at 7:00pm on Thankgiving were wonderful. Charming and helpful, they did not appear to be phased by working on a holiday! The rooms are comfortable and the lighting inviting. I feel safe and relaxed here. December 2, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Facilities and personel The rooms and hotel in general was great. We really enjoyed the relaxing pool and hot tub.It is fantastic to unwind after 6 or 7 hours on the road. I was somewhat surprised that we were only given one bottle of water as a priority club member, but still I would recommend this hotel and will stay there again when we are in the area November 30, 2012

The hallway smelled like smoke when you stepped off of the elevator. But the breakfast was good. November 16, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Unhappy Non-Smoker in Smoking Room Even though we reserved our room a month or more ahead, we were told that only Smoking Rooms were available. After several interim tries by phone to get that changed - even at check-in - to no avail. Fortunately, the window in room 233 was able to be opened for the night. That along with running the bathroom exhaust fan all night made the stay tolerable. Perhaps the day will come when all rooms at HIE will be no smoking. -- mk October 25, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 1 Blood stain on pillow / 2 Internet Connection / 3 Pool Temp 1 Blood stain on pillow, immediately replaced when reported to front desk. 2 Inquired about Password which noted 9/25 - 10/01 on the first night 10/08 and was told they seldom change it. On 10/09 was unable to connect phone or computer. After some time trying to correct the problem, I asked the front desk if there was a problem with the Internet connection. I was told it was changed overnight and it is always changed on Monday night. The Front Desk Staff should talk to each other. 3 Used pool upon arrival and it was comfortable. Returned after dinner and the temp was very cool. Front Desk had no explanation for the change in temp October 18, 2012
