Firstly your evening meal menu is very limited. Choice of pizza or curry? That was it. And secondly the breakfast was lacking bacon.... Mushrooms .... And the plates were the size of a saucer ? It wasn't expensive for one night and it is very close to the airport so a taxi isn't expensive. If I am traveling again from Liverpool airport and I need an overnight stop I would definitely consider staying here again. August 4, 2013

This hotel has no air conditioning except on the ground floor where the restaurant/ reception (and management) are situated. The rest of the hotel is hot and stuffy. Difficult to sleep at night because of the heat and lack of air. Could not get out of the room quick enough. Not recommended August 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what we needed Stayed in Liverpool for a night out at an event. Needed a hotel, tried to book one in centre of Liverpool but costs were ridiculous. Chose this hotel as was a really good price. Only a small taxi ride away to the centre. Rooms were modern and clean, although the pull out bed could have been a bit more comfortable. Breakfast was great. Only downside due to location is the early morning noise from the airport, but expected that when booked it. August 2, 2013

It is very convenient when flying from Belfast to Liverpool. I have never had any issues when staying here and would recommend to stay here. August 2, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No air con and hard to relax on a hot day The rooms have no air conditioning unit so on one of the hottest days of the year it was pretty uncomfortable. The room itself was a nice room. The receptionist insisted to take £30 charge on my credit card for use of facilities and was given no receipt even though I explained to her I had paid for my room in full,am a priority member and am tee total and have no intention or desire to buy anything additional from the bar located at reception (as there is no mini-bar or other services in the room). I stayed in a holiday inn express the night before in Edinburgh and this never happened there so inconsistency in the service standards. I rang up the customer services free toll number from my room and the adviser said some HIE were like franchises and operated different policies. The next morning the same lady was in reception and I went and checked out. She was quite cold where other staff greeted. She didn't give me the code needed to take my vehicle out of the car park and what it meant was once I had loaded up and was at the barrier, I had to leave my mother in the car at the barrier and walk back into reception to go and request for it. Breakfast - prefer continental cheese slices to blocks of cheese packed in plastic, kind of what you give the kids in a lunch box. Being vegetarian, I like a hot breakfast of beans on toast and usually put a cheese slice on top too but couldn't do that with a block of cheese. July 20, 2013

Booked two rooms for 4 people for two nights and they decided in their wisdom to charge for 7 people and charged my credit card £100.00 too much. When I realised two days before we arrived they said they would refund the money but had to be authorised by the manager. When I queried the refund on check in I was told it would be easier to process on my departure. Easier for who ?? - certainly not me. Here we are one week later and money has still not been refunded. Says a lot for their customer care when the problem was entirely their own doing. Will not book with them again July 10, 2013

My husband and I had to come to Liverpool for a family get together, we were unsure where to stay, but had stayed in Holiday Inns before, and were always pleased with the services. We booked on line, got a good deal and were not disappointed with our choice. We would certainly stay there again. July 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 weekend in Liverpool Stayed here with my daughter overnight as we were on a gin tasting event in Liverpool city centre. Found the hotel to be very clean & the staff friendly & helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was also very good. The hotel is approx 15-20 mins away from the city centre, there are buses nearby that run into the city centre but used taxis instead which cost approx £11 - £13 one way. Would definitely use this hotel again & would recommend. Very easy to find & very convenient for Liverpool airport. Funnily enough didn't hear any air traffic noise! July 5, 2013

A canopy or 'bus-stop' shelter needs to be built in the front garden area tucked-away in the corner somewhere so that smokers are kept well away from the entrance area. July 3, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast choice very poor The breakfast was a great disappointment. There was only beans, scrambled eggs and sausages. No other hot food variety. No brown bread, staff weren't very helpful and tables were dirty and had food on them from the last person. I wouldn't stay there again as I feel that it was quite expensive for the price. Very noisy with other guests going on holiday and young groups screaming on corridors. Not a pleasant stay at all. We have stayed in Holiday inns before but the Holiday Inn Express's are nothing like the Holiday Inns. June 24, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by very very Poor Staff Shame I stayed here for 2 nights, we did not have a bed that my son could sleep on, the pull out was awful, the staff did nothing to offer any help.The Breakfast was awful, the food ran out, the cutlery ran out.When I asked for refund I was told the manager was away, it took about 4 weeks to finally get a e-mail from him saying he had refunded.I rang and asked for him lots always to be told he was away !!! It's a good looking hotel, shame the manger is never there !! to see how poor it is run, or does he already know that. June 19, 2013

Susage, beans and scrambled egg is a little plain - some bacon, hash browns etc wouldnt hurt. The bed was comfortable but a little squeeky with the slightest of movement. Very clean throughout the room, good value drinks at the bar and staff were very good. May 30, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service Stayed one Saturday night with my wife and son. We had a room on the fifth (top) floor which was great as the risk of noise was greatly reduced. Rooms are small, especially when you have the sofa bed down, but clean and comfortable with a decent bathroom. Although the hotel was full, staff on reception were great and couldn't do enough to help. Consistent with all other HIX, it delivered exactly what it said on the tin. May 15, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK Well, we had booked a one night stay ready to fly very early the following morning, on arrival checking in I was asked to pay £30 (just incase of breakages etc) THIS WAS NOT POINTED OUT AT TIME OF ME MAKING THE BOOKING ON THEIR WEBSITE, I did of course decline and was told they could then refuse to check us in, I budget to every penny ready for our holiday the following morning, so therefore was £30 down before we had even started, then was told of course if NO breakages etc this would go back onto my card, and of course NO breakages were made and room was checked and all ok and the payment put back onto my card the day of departure, but this only went back on 5 days later!!!!!!!! so they had kept that £30 I needed for my holiday all of that time, and in that time we was on our way back home. Breakfast POOR by the way, not much choice, terrible. But rooms were lovely, and very very clean:) Just be warned to pay an extra £30 on arrival, this would be better if they just took your card details and then if a problem then take the charge, but should not be taken the moment your checking in especially at 10.30 at night with a 3 yr old in tow. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by disaster through and through Reception staff were lovely - especially the tall barman who helped us during our times of stress. However, the room's toliet had not been cleaned, there were no tea/coffee etc left for us, only empty cups. The bedside light would not go out (apparently it was reported as fixed the previous day!. When I moved it off ,my eyes, it fused our room and the one next door. Long story - but we both got moved to other rooms (bearing in mind I'd already unpacked and was in bed. On walking into the new room, I was surprised to find someone already occupying it - he was more shoked than me, seeing as I was fully dressed! The third room of the evening was the disabled room - which was fully functional, however by this time it was debatable whether I should go to bed seeing as my flight was very early in the morning To summarise - Staff on duty - great but the standard of room cleaning/maintenance was very poor and not what I'd expect of Holiday Inn April 17, 2013

Twice I had to go back to reception because my card stopped working in my room door...never easy, because other people are queuing, too. The cards need to be less flakey eg impacted by maybe iPads or mobiles. The other thing is - well - bacon at breakfast time. Never provided in any HIExpress as far as I am aware...come on, team, bring the bacon back! Otherwise - friendly service; clean and comfortable; good showers etc. Despite the wrinkles - fully recommended. April 10, 2013

Everything was easy and helpful. Transfers by local taxi very effective. Arriving at 1am off the flight the check in was smooth and friendly and we were asleep in warm comfy room within minutes.
