We were given a room upgrade upon check-in to a tower room, unfortunately, their idea of an upgrade was a room with the BIG heating/AC unit right out the window. We ask for a different right away and were given another room on floor up but only a few room down from the same heating/ac unit. Needless to say the first night we didn't sleep very well. We also tried to use the pool/sauna later that night (about 10:30PM) and both were filled with UNATTENDED children with all their blowup toys. You should have an adult hour at that time of night. The next day we provided our concerns to the front desk and with an apology, we were given a VERY nice room far away from the heating/ac unit. This hotel is Very nice, clean, the hotel cleaning staff is excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who ask. The only thing that I would say, is if you have to put people in the rooms in the tower part on the side directly by the heating/ac unit make sure that can't hear or give them a BIG room discount for taking those rooms!

Room was okay, didn't have continental breakfast (that we were told or aware of). The biggest thing was our tub didn't drain, who wants to shower in someone else's water????

I have stayed at this Holiday Inn several times over the past few years. It is not the nicest Holiday Inn I've stayed at, nor the nicest hotel in Billings, nor the best value in Billings. But every time I stay here, I know what to expect - decent rates, comfortable rooms, and helpful staff. The floor plan drives me nuts, the parking can be cramped, and the hotel is usually crowded - but as I said, those things are predictable. I wouldn't recommend it for romantic getaways or leisurely stays, but for business related travel (especially for conferences across the parking lot), I do recommend the Holiday Inn Grand Montana.

As stated above our stay was wonderful except there seems to be a serious ventilation problem with this facility. Smoking should no be allowed in the building, this unfortunately causes smoke to be inhaled coming and going to a respective room. Please solve this problem, as I understand this has been one of the Hotels major complaint.

The rooms were dirty, food from previous guests was still in the mini-fridge. found clothing under the beds, someones medication on the floor, beer caps on the floor. The hallways leading to the rooms smelled like a bar from the 80's, smelled so bad of smoke it was hard to walk, down them. The doors to the bathrooms were so old and warped, they would not close. I have stayed at many Holiday Inns across the country, and this is by far the worst. They need to spend some money and upgrade the entire place. Staff did not even ask how the stay was when checking out, and seemed shocked that I had some complaints. Tried passing it off on "It must have been a new person cleaning the rooms is why it wasn't cleaned right". Asked her to have the Manager call, never heard from him, and when I called back 6 hours later, sat on hold for over 10 minutes, and then the person who answered the phone came back on and said the Manager will refund a portion of your charge for the room. No apology or anything. Will not stay here again until the place is remodeled.

My room was by the maid closet and maid laundry facilities. There was a leak and water was in the hallway. The carpet was wet and smelled of mildew. They did have a sign and fan to dry the carpet. My room was clean and comfortable. Just the common area by the maids laundry had the issue. Hotel is overpriced compared to other Holiday Inns I have stayed at. My mother visited on the site casino.

I recently attended a meeting there and while the sleeping room was nice, the conference rooms were average, the connection to the convention center across the parking lot awkward and the food for the group functions left much to be desired. While it may be an interesting atrium feature, I found the waterfall to be noisy and chilly, inappropriate for Montana. It's in a less than desirable location unless you're just getting off the freeway for a night. I did discover a nice park to walk around on South Billings Ave, east on Midland Rd.

Ants and bugs at pool. They put us in the room next to the largest AHU (Air Handling Unit). My twin 3 year old daughters couldn't sleep between the noise of the AHU and the other kept thinking she had ants and bugs crawling on her. Needless to stay should have kept driving or tried the shady hotel. Don't waste your time with this Holiday Inn.

The staff at the front desk were excellent, got to our room and the noise from the elevator was loud. Once again the front desk was great to change our room. The first night there was some kids or adults running up and down the hall until about 2:30 am. The next day breakfast 1 waitress (older and very nice) trying to seat all the people plus wait on them and serve there food, I went to the front desk and complained. late afternoon 5:00pm or so went to the room and no service to room, I ask the cleaning person down the hall how long before she could clean and fresh up, her reply - (I'm not sure if you need towels take some #. next day breakfast not any better. That night no room service, I called the front desk and about a hour later they refreshed the room. Sunday night the noise was really bad kids running in hall banging on doors #yes ours) and the room service people were still cleaning rooms on our floor at 11:30 that night. not sure I would stay here again even if it was free.

The hotel provides excellent service and fine accommodation. The staff is courteous, friendly and goes out of the way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Food is okay, as expected in a city hotel. The rooms are clean and beds comfortable. The hotel offers airport pick up and drop off. This is quite convenient as there no cabs around at this place, The days I stayed here, they were busy and the staff were multitasking. I was impressed by the way they (receptionist) was able to do multiple things, checking in guest, arranging pickups and speaking with repairmen. Highly recommend.

we reserved this room with the group we were traveling with, and should have checked...the room didn't have a fridge OR microwave and the stay didn't come with breakfast (which cost us $45 the next morning for 4 of us (2 kids# to have a buffet that would be free at other hotels)
I used points for part of the cost of this room...but at ANY rate, it was not worth it
we arrived back at our hotel at 4:30 pm...the room had not yet been cleaned...and my son had a cold shower after all day of wrestling #we left at 5:30...still awaiting new towels, etc...)
I am an IHG member...but will not make a reservation again by brand alone...and will find an alternative on our next trip to Billings

I think they need to give the guests a discount on the breakfast in the restaurant do to it was very expensive.

We always sleep more hours than normal when staying at the Holiday Inn. Beds are so comfortable and both hard and soft pillows, relaxing atmosphere. We ordered room service and she was so pleasant and friendly on the phone. The food was delivered even quicker than predicted. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

I thought it was a nice place, I was able to set the room temperature at a comfortable setting, it was -20 F outside one night when i was there so that was important to me! All the staff I encountered were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable.

Staff friendly. Rooms took long time to clean and were always lacking amenities i.e. shampoo etc-had to ask. One day even took away what was there. Pillows were all "firm" and too firm for me. Heater fan in first room went on and off every 10 minutes-unable to control. However, had added second room for several nights and that room had awesome fan that was constant-love that. Beautiful place. Food was tasty. Staff helpful, friendly. Almost got snowed in and was reassured of longer stay if needed. Check in and out was a breeze. No priority club benefits accept matching gambling. Close to other restaurants too.

Our 2nd floor room was rather old, but, comfortable and clean,, but the stench of smokers from the other side of the hallway was disgusting.
Non smoking and smoking on the same floor???????????????
The resturant served a disgusting breakfast buffet on the Friday(28th) morning and it was sent back with recommendation to get a new chef!!
The resturant was also almost empty in the evenings and the very pleasant staff outnumbered the customers. That should say something??
Sorry folks, not good enough to allow the GRAND title.

We stayed here during the MACO conference and were very disappointed. Heat was set on max on entry into the first room, it had to be over 85 degrees inside and we never did get it to cool down even with heat completely off. Second room was occupied already when it was given to us. Their staffing and preparation for an increased volume of guests was woefully inadequate. Front desk staff on check in was meager at best, and clerk had to be given repeated instructions by co workers on how to accomplish tasks. We have stayed here several times in the past for meetings and this was by far, the worst.

Arriving at the HI Grand at 2AM after a long snowy journey, I was greeted by the friendly associate at the front desk. I was expected as I had a reservation. Check in took only a couple of minutes and I was on my way to my room to unwind in a comfortable room after a white knuckle drive.

I stayed here four nights in Feb. 2014 for a wedding that was held at the hotel. The hotel's overall appearance is outdated and rundown despite attempts to cover up with some newer lobby furniture and lighting. The semi-permanent decor (e.g., carpets, walls, elevators, ceilings) shows obvious wear and tear. The rooms on the atrium are much nicer than the others. The beds are very comfortable. My room and the common areas were very clean.
The hotel and housekeeping staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is another story, unfortunately. I ate at the restaurant three times. Every time, I had to wait to be seated even though there were plenty of open tables. Breakfast buffet options were plentiful and varied, especially on Sunday. But some of the food wasn't kept hot enough and looked like it had been sitting on the buffet too long. I heard a guest at a neighboring table complain to a supervisor about the slow service. The supervisor apologized and said many staff had called in sick. The guest said it wasn't the first time he was dissatisfied and said he wouldn't return.
On the plus side: It's a great location---next to I-90 and close to west-side commercial area. Not a good location for access to downtown. Compared to other hotels, it's far from the airport, but not too far, and they have a shuttle. There's ample parking. As I already mentioned, the place is kept clean. It's nice to have a restaurant and a bar on-site, but I wouldn't expect exceptional service. The wedding seemed well-coordinated. The bride told me she was pleased with the staff.

The sheer curtain closed all of the way, but the drape only closed halfway so the lights from the courtyard kept the room brightly lit all night. The rooms temperature settings do not work; the rooms were either blazing hot or freezing cold. The rooms were not sound proof. I could hear the people above me taking a leak! We did not sleep a wink. The bed was comfortable, the room was very clean, and the staff was very friendly.

I have stayed twice at this same hotel years apart and both times were bad experiences for me. 1st stay - I was put at a annex from main hotel - no locks on doors, holes where locks should be and I almost didn't stay, but my training was at this hotel. My boss informed me it was robbed of the TV's furniture etc. during the night when I slept. Last week, when I entered the room, didn't look too bad, used restroom, noticed black particles in sink and then realized toilet didn't flush. I was given a different room. 2nd room was cold - heat turned to max but I was ok - I had extra blankets. The next day during my conference, at first break I went to room and discovered the floor was wet and it appeared the toilet overflowed but as it turned out, it was leaking from the ceiling. Yellow, stinky water all over the place. Covering my curling iron, tooth brush and past and makeup case - I was not offered another room or compensation, they stated they get it clean - I left when conference ended for the night. Thankfully I was not charged. The reason I kept getting was "we don't normally have this many people at one time, the front desk people are all new, the building is old, etc. Maybe it's time to make some changes. (NOTE: I tried to upload photos but wouldn't allow me to)

I had a horrible experience with TSA and missed my flight- "Jance" was able to get me a ride back to the hotel and get me a great room.. I always stay at this hotel- everyone goes out of the way to make me comfortable!

I attended a church Christmas service that was held at the Grand. The church had set aside a block of rooms for this event for one night. I am from North Dakota which is at least a six drive so we had to come one day early. The manager extended the block rate and made our trip wonderful. Thank you.
