Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by end of a hard day after a very trying and hard day battling with traffic and other difficulties it was a safe haven to rest for the night. The staff were friendly and helpful and the accommodation clean and tidy . The bed was comfortable and the room warm ....exactly what was needed , and together with a wholesome breakfast the stay served to refresh and revive me for the next days endeavors...thank you May 12, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice stay We stayed here for a couple of nights, so we could take the kids in to central London, for weekend break. I needed a place where I could park my car, There's plenty of parking. There's a large super market, right next door, and a petrol station which was handy. The staff are pleasant, checking in was straight forward. The rooms a little small when you have the sofa bed out. but for a couple of nights it was fine, clean. Breakfast, standard kind of stuff but I would have like more of a vegi choice with hot food. The hotel is on a main bus route and it took about 10 mins to get to the Bus/Tube station, The bus service is regular even on a Sunday. Overall nice pleasant stay, little simple but good value for money. May 9, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Regular Visitor I stay at this hotel 2 or 3 times a year and it's worth every penny. I do always eat out or order take away in. Breakfast is good. Rooms great. Only bad point is service at bar always seem to have to wait for service. This hotel is easy to get to and staff are always friendly. Highly recommended if you want a cheap comfy quite hotel. I've stayed about 10 times now and never gad a problem. April 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just Valuable There are many travelers with kids, it's a little bit noisy in the morning.The single room with a sofa is quite comfort for us to hold a party of 6 persons.There is a large supermarket nearby, we are happy to shop there.A pity is the poor breadfast. Having the heater on caused a draught over the bed, which was not acceptable to us - perhaps a personal thing. Breakfast much better than expected! Overall a pleasant experience. March 29, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No welcome from staff and cold room In comparison to premier inn staff the welcome at check inn and at breakfast was pretty poor. Not even eye contact from kitchen staff when you arrive down. No explanation of what to do. And when I asked if the natural yoghurt was low fat. I was looked at as if I just fell from the sky. The room was freezing during the night. Had to put heater off as blowing hot dry air down directly above bed. The duvet was all lumpy with clusters of interior filling. Told receptionist in morning and she replied should get another duvet. Then that was the end of that issue. February 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice at the price i paid me and my son went to london to watch coventry play tottenham, i thought we would stop the night and make a weekend of it, found holiday inn chingford. it was ideal for my football location. as i booked about 3weeks early i got the twin room for a vry good rate with complimentary breakfast for one night, great value for money when were all tightening our belts, would recomend this place to many. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Average place to stay for 1 night only. Looks good from the outside, very clean inside, couldn't hear any noise from inside the bedroom. Customer service was dull, not welcoming at all. No still water for priority customers, fridges half empty. Woken by the fire alarm at 4:30am - given no oppolgy or explanation, room was hot and stuffy but very clean, nice TV but no kids channels. Breakfast was basic and looked horrible (specially the scrambled egg) The goodbye was more enthusiastic than the hello. January 9, 2013

I am sorry I failed to be able to make an advance reservation for late August and early September this year because rooms appeared to be booked out after the Olympics well in advance. i made a reservation elsewhere. But when I got to London I found out that enough rooms were actually still available. Too late. Block reservations seem to have been cancelled. The requirement of a minimum number of characters in this field is a nuisance. December 1, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Let down by the breakfast A straightforward simple pleasant hotel, apart from the breakfast. Breakfast started badly, with the worst (surely instant?) coffee that I have tasted in decades of travelling for business and leisure. The cereals were the usual high salt Kelloggs varieties, and the only fruit grapefruit (Sadly I am not permitted grapefruit, as it clashes with a number of medicines.) And toast was OK. However, the horror was the cooked selection. The scrambled egg was a springy mass, and did not taste quite as it should; the beans were watery, and the sausages were truly grim. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Front staff were ok then it fell apart The service provided by staff at the desk and bar was good but the domestic element was atrocious. The attitude displayed to myself and my new wife was out of order, we were spoken to with contempt and ordered out of the room so they could clean. This in relation to myself having a disability and my wife being asleep at the time. We had earlier asked when the rooms were to be cleaned so that we could be out and were brushed off with 'later'. I reported this series of events to the desk and was told it would be looked into I then repeated this report on leaving when asked how the stay had been. At no time was any form of compensation offered or mentioned except by me. The a/c in the room kept it nice and cold and even when a member of desk staff worked on it, it povided heat simply below the unit. The price of staying did not justify such a poor showing. In regards the domestic staff the excuse given was that they had poor English, I feel this is never to be used as an excuse for behaviour. After all if I had been offensive I'm sure I couldn't use a similar defence in relation to my levels of English. I would not recommend thus establishment due to the above even though other staff seemed effective. November 9, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by a great place i have enjoyed several stays here since 2006 and have only ever had one occasion to complain and that was a drunk noisy guest who was removed from the hotel at 2am !! and the manager did not charge me for that night. i will aiways reccomend Chinford ExHI as the place to stay when visiting London November 4, 2012

Sainsbury's supermarket next door if you need anything you've forgotten. Rooms quiet so able to sleep soundly and plenty of car parking available. Only complaint was no bacon for breakfast. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Could not have expected a better experience The reception staff made us feel at ease, and were most helpful in settling us down to a most enjoyable stay. We arrived back very late (about 1.45am) from the Paralympics opening ceremony, and the bar staff were very courteous in dealing with us. The room was very comfortable, with all the amenities that I expected, and the breakfast was more than adequate. If in London again, I would certainly consider staying again at this hotel. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by customer care poor, bad experience When booking on line, I requested twin beds, on arriving at the hotel we were given double beds. When queried this we were told they do not do twin beds. They said they had noticed my request on the booking form though. I am not happy as they could have contacted me prior to my arrival to point this out to me, allowing me to at least be fore warned. Secondly we could smell cigarette smoke along the corridor the day we arrived and by around 7.10am the saturday morning the fire alarm woke me, and my family out of bed in shock due to someone smoking in the bathroom. Thirdly our tap made a loud noise every time we turned it on and the sink drain had a sewerage smell. Finally, rather than eat breakfast there as we have in the past, we went out for breakfast as we had a long day and what they offer is not enough to keep us til lunch time as it is not a full English breakfast.
