Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AJDBA Good but room for improvement
I've stayed here a number of times and while good for a night or two on Business, from my stays it could do with two improvements: 1. Sort out the air con - it has never worked on any of the times I've stayed here 2. Add bacon to the breakfast menu - Sausage and beans doesn't really work.

Hotels in Central London are overpriced and this HI Ex is no excption. Putting that to one side, you just about get what you pay for; it's basic, clean and modern but there are no frills. Service is adequate but the inability to have an iron provided to your room is archaic and the wi-fi is either non-existant or painfully slow
I would be back, but only because my expectations have been managed and if I just need someone to sleep then it's fine

This hotel is in the middle of a very busy pedestrian and biking area, many workers in their 20s and 30s, a little rundown and questionable in spots. Recommend you do not rent a car to drive to Central London, use public transportation because parking is impossible and if you do find a spot it is expensive. The hotel charged 30 pound for one night of parking in one of their few spots, but parking is free on the street on Sunday if that helps. The hotel itself appears to be fairly new and fairly well kept up. Breakfast is the usual British variety, and lots of food, so no worries there--you just have to elbow your way through the throngs of feasting brats who want sausages. The room we had was kind of small, barely enough room for the beds, but comfy enough. Staff was pretty rude as the place was booked up for the weekend, though one lady in particular was helpful when others failed. otherwise, place is near the Old City tube and it does take some creative mapping to get to tourist spots.
