Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Personal security-conscious but not customers I spent 3 nights the weekend of the Summer Bank holiday with my family. In the last week I had stayed in 5 other hotels Holiday Inn in UK, no one had requested a further verification of my identity. Well for everyone's safety! The first night I asked for a pint of draft beer. They did not! Only in the bottle, but demanded the payment in cash and not charge the account of the room! At this hour? I had to go back in the room to wake up all at once to pay a beer? Never heard in many years that I frequent hotel for just one night! Service very rude. September 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Free Wi-Fi usage I am very glad the hotel has belatedly introduced free Wi-Fi for its guests. I don't understand, however, why the Wi-Fi has to be on a secure link. Secondly, more importantly, I don't understand why the secure link is changed on a daily basis. Most guests will only stay one night, but if a guest is staying three nights, as I did, it is seriously inconvenient to obtain the new code on three separate occasions In every other respect the hotel accommodation was entirely satisfactory and the staff were extremely helpful September 20, 2013

The reception staff were very helpful, both with moving rooms and with booking taxis later in the evening. Room was perfectly adequate for one night. Good shower and comfortable bed. Surprisingly quiet for the location, although we kept the windows firmly shut. September 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay! When we first arrived I was happy and got a good first impression. The staff were polite and kind! When we got to our room it was fine although the TV was small and my child's bed was a sofa bed that wasn't comfy for her and she couldn't sleep well. The breakfast was lovely and had lots of things to choose from - however, I was shocked when I heard they didn't do dinner!! Over all, it was a great stay and I'd recommend it if you were going away over the weekend! ;) September 11, 2013

Less people first night, so could park easily, next morning breakfast almost empty and absolutely no complaints for the money. Saturday was fully booked, no car parking, breakfast crowded and staff under pressure, and around £50 more for the experience! Still rated very well. Would use again. September 11, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel and excellent staff I booked this hotel last minute for my son and I and was very pleasantly surprised by the price and the quality of the hotel and the helpfulness of the staff. The breakfast was also just right, with a choice of cereals, croissants, toast and a small selection of hot food. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel - the number 82 goes to victoria via Oxford Street. Just ensure you have change for the fare! September 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Need to sort out wifi I have stayed here on a number of occasions and every time the wifi is hopeless. unless your room is next to the lifts the wifi does not reach the rooms. It is fine in the corridor or on the stairs but as soon as you enter the room it drops away. THIS NEEDS TO BE SORTED OUT. on my last stay the staff tried to help but other than move you to a room "closer to the lift" there is not a lot more they could do. September 3, 2013

Children did however complain that the sofa bed was not comfortable to sleep on, but as we only stayed for 1 night was not a lasting issue. Good location to get to central London from and perfectly placed for our journey northbound the next morning. Would be good to have a bottle of water in the room. Overall, very pleased. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by noisy beds and phone problem We have stayed at HIEGG on several occasions since it opened.In particular the staff are always welcoming and helpful. Two issues arose , though ,on our latest visit. The bed bases 'squeaked' in room 417 and need attention. We reported on the day we arrived-we stayed 6 nights-that we could not receive incoming phone calls to the room .Apparently the line was 'busy' even though we were not using it.We reminded the staff about this problem during our stay but all that they could offer was an inconvenient room change and an apology. The failure to resolve the phone problem throughout our stay was disappointing. September 1, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by shabby and very tired on entrance we were impresssed. reception area was clean and staff ok. however the room was very shabby . the tv was faulty and the sound disturbed so couldn't make use of it. the carpets were stained and we had to use the chair for a bedside table as one of the tables was missing. woke up by kids running up and down the corridor at 6.30 in the morning . will never use again or recommend to anyone !!!! with regrets August 29, 2013

The only downside was that there was four of us (Two adults & two children) so there wasn't really enough room to put all our clothes as storage is minimal. Its more intended for an overnight business stay than a family mini break. Breakfast was basic, but really good and plenty of it. The location was great, easy to get to and a bus stop right outside. Buses every few minutes took you the short distance up the road to the nearest tube station. The staff were friendly and excellent at helping with our little incident. This was the only reason we couldn't relax during our stay. I believe that security measures are being tightened to try and stop that happening in the future. August 29, 2013

Travel cot provided and sofa bed were both fine for little ones. It was very quiet even though its by a major road and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast is self service and was good. Staff were very friendly. An excellent, good value London hotel. We will stay again. August 29, 2013

Well at over 100 pounds a night I expect much higher standards, will not stay again, will not recommend, no effort to appease me was given and it wasn't worth the money August 26, 2013

Location is good if you are happy to spend 40 mins travel into Central London, but hey that's all part of London living. Staff were particularly friendly creating a genuine and lovely rapport with the children. Well done Golders Green, we'll be back. August 26, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wouldn't choose to stay again, but staff were good Noisy place, noisy(some mechanical noise that went on all night) room. Car parking was a nightmare but the staff tried to help best they could. Location bad, unless one has a reason to stay in that particular area (our reason was that our daughter lives just 3miles down the road). Was surprised thar there wasn't a chair apart from the one at the desk, ie only one person could sit even though it was a queen size bedroom, presumably intending for two persons. The TV was so small and if one sat on the bed, it wasn't possible to view it. August 24, 2013

Only issue was breakfast; cereal all out of date by months but that was the only issue. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great budget stay I took my two daughters and their friend to a weekend event at Alexandra Palace so needed a place close to stay. I arrived an hour before check in but our room was ready for us. The room was aired and clean, there were plenty of towels for all four of us as well as cups for hot drinks - normally you only get two! The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The room was facing the busy North Circular road but with the window closed you could not hear it which was surprising. We stayed in a family room on the second floor and it was very quiet, you could not hear any of the fellow guests which is great as we stayed on a Saturday night! Overall a great stay. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mixed views. Cramped breakfast. No incentives. First off. No recognition of IHG award status. Needing to ask for wifi code & paper is not the best start. Getting 2 cards not working and getting told I had them near my mobile (they were still in sleeve) was not the next best start. Room was comfortable, bed was squeaky. No real room issues. Breakfast was cramped. All singles sitting at 4 seater tables so big Q. Needs someone to drive the breakfast seating. Room at back with the food was tiny. 20 people wanting to be in a space for 5. Good bus stop outside to golders green then from there into London. Just needs some smartening up of staff processes and recognising those who have award cards. There is no diff at this hotel, it didn't seem to phase them. August 18, 2013
