Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Plumbing problems!! This hotel was very clean and comfortable and conveniently placed for 02, buses and North Greenwich underground. It would have received 5 stars if it had not been for the plumbing problems. No hot water on Saturday morning, just stone cold trickle. Had to boil kettles to wash in! To be fair that night was refunded, but I have since read that there was problems on the Friday morning when the water was too hot to shower under. There were obviously problems when we checked in on Friday afternoon. However, it was fixed when we returned Saturday evening and was ok on Sunday morning. Would stay again providing the water system is working ok. Breakfast was excellent in all areas, enough choice for all tastes. December 13, 2013

I stayed at this hotel two years ago for the Rihanna concert and although Breakfast was standing in a very long queue ( canteen style) it was a nice stay very close to the O2 walking distance of 10-15 minutes so perfect. We booked it again this year for Will.I.am, we arrived very stressed and tired having been travelling for over 6 hours to be greeted by a very friendly chap on reception (English) didn't get his name but great check in experience. The room was book last July and we got a great room on the 2nd floor, The bed was hard but that's me being fussy!, we had a snack there at the bar and headed of to our concert, In the morning the shower drama began I turned on the shower to be scalded the cold tap was not regulating the temperature, I called down to reception where an Eastern European Girl answered sorry no name! She sent the manager straight up who tried to get it to work with no joy apologising he sourced another room for us to shower!, this showered was stone cold and the hot tap didn't work, we offered to go for breakfast and give them chance to sort out the problem, after breakfast we were told our original room shower was fixed off we trotted to be scalded once again, phoned down to reception the same girl told me very bluntly it is working, I asked for the manager who returned to our room to discover it was still not working, again sourcing another room, hooray the third room shower worked, Although he couldn't apologise enough and did refund us this was a disastrous stay, and meant we left a lot later than we wanted to missing valuable shopping time!!!.P.S the breakfast is still long queues so that bit hadn't improved!!, but the food was hot and nice. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by poor staff knowledge / care I was really disappointed by the lack of staff care regarding dietary options in the restaurant. My daughter has dietary restrictions. I asked about what food might be suitable to be told - nothing! The temporary manager said they don't have any gluten free food. I asked the barman to check with the kitchen. Minutes later I asked him and he told me he didn't bother as the manager had already answered. Good hotel staff make that extra step! In the past we have been to hotels where they have a list of what is or isn't in each menu option. Holiday Inn is big enough to make this extra effort. December 5, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and clean crisp sheets Booked our hotel weeks in advance so were disappointed to be told on arrival that the double room which was showing on the reservation was actually a twin. The receptionist appeared unconcerned and merely told us the hotel was fully booked, she spent quite a while looking rather unsure at her system, only after we insisted that we wanted a double did she tell us she was just training and called a manager to assist her who very quickly resolved the issue. (He however didn't acknowledge us at all or offer an apology or explanation) Our initial experience lacked in customer care. The room was comfortable and clean, but it was cold and we didn't manage to work the heating so when we returned to the room late at night it was even colder. It also took ages to work out how to control the shower temperature, the water was scolding hot and every time we tried to turn up the cold, the shower would just dribble out to nothing. Bed was comfortable and sheets very clean and crisp, I also like the choice of soft and firm pillows. Breakfast was good, we were expecting continental so it was nice to find sausages, scrambled egg and beans were also included. There appeared to be no serving staff around and although it was all self service, it would have been nice to have a little guidance in the dining room, we waited to be seated but eventually just went and picked a table as no-one appeared. Overall, not a bad stay, just lacking slightly in attention to detail, but all things which could easily be remedied if this feedback is taken on board. December 4, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Inconsiderate and rude working staff in the hotel This hotel is one of the worst I had ever stay. Overall the rooms are ok,bit the attitude of the staff is beyond imagination. The cleaners at the dining area was snapping at me, and also housekeeping is slow. They can't even clean up one room after 6 hours. The receptionist- the lady who had short red hair was the worst. Rude, in knowledgeable, impatient, and inconsiderate. I will never return to this hotel. December 1, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Really convenient for excel Staying over on business for conference at Excel. Running the gauntlet of the Blackwall tunnel may seem a bit mad as there are closer hotels but this would be a great place to stay if sightseeing around London. There are some good links for travel if you are prepared to walk a bit. The hotel is having some work done so outside not as tidy as usual I imagine. It is quite clean and well presented inside. I don't usually eat in but did on this occasion and it was alright. I would definitely come back if I was after cheap accommodation close to Central London to base myself at for sightseeing or days out.. December 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Closest to the o2 arena I chose this hotel due to the proximity to the o2 arena, it is a 15 minute walk from North Greenwich Tube station, along Millennium Way and was easy to find. Room comfort and cleanliness were excellent. I would stay again if attending an event at the o2. The only thing that let this hotel down was the standard of the breakfast. There was a good range of cereal, juice, tea, coffee, bread, yoghurt, ham, cheese etc., but the hot food was limited. We went for breakfast just after 9am and the only hot food available was scrambled eggs (which were a little grey and rubbery) and baked beans. After about 10 minutes some sausages were added to the hotplate but that was it for the hot food. However, the staff in the restaurant area were really pleasant and helpful. Overall, I would recommend this hotel but maybe arriving earlier for breakfast would be a good tip! November 30, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rooms where comfortable good size First time in a Holiday inn room was good size and clean would have like the option of a bath not just a shower which was probably only fault, staff helpful breakfast good choice dont understand taxi company they use it cost £14 from airport to holiday inn and £27 from holiday inn to airport thought that was a bit steep but enjoyable stay. Option of other meals would have been nice as chinese was not upto much. November 29, 2013

I was looking for a hotel to stay in after going to the O2 for a concert and this hotel was the perfect choice. 10 - 15 minute walk and can see the venue from the hotel. It all worked out perfectly! We had a lovely room with comfortable beds and enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the morning that was encluded in the price. If I go back to the O2, I will defintely stay here again!!! November 27, 2013

There is also a lovely view of the O2 from the hotel and a short walk which makes it very convenient. I would highly recommend the hotel and would happily stay there again. November 27, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location for O2 Arena We booked this hotel due to its distance from The O2. It is only a 10 minute walk away, and the hotel car parking fee is cheaper than the O2's. The room was nice, shower was nice and bed was comfy. My only tiny concern was the air-con noise when trying to sleep (eventually turned it off and was fine). Breakfast was lovely, with an adequate selection of hot and cold food. Hotel is also very easy to find and with easy access to the main roads. I would definitely recommend it! November 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Helpful and Friendly receptionist I would like to express my appreciation to your male receptionist who helped me (on 14/11/2013) and my 3 friends to book a taxi to the airport while my pre-booked taxi failed to turn up on the appointed time. While waiting at the entrance of your hotel, both taxis turned up at the same time and this unexpected event caught us by surprise. We had to cancel the booking for the taxi arranged by your staff. Your staff was very kind to come down to the front entrance of your hotel and politely explained to the driver the cause of the mis-communication. congratulations for having such a helpful and friendly staff. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fab hotel and perfect when visiting O2 I stayed 2 nights here when visiting the O2. The staff welcome was warm and genuine. The room was perfectly clean and had everything you need - hairdryer and tea / coffee making supplies, which you don't always get at a value hotel. I booked very early so got a good rate too. The bedding was great and even offered 2 types of pillow - firm or soft. Free wifi. Breakfast was self serve but had a great choice of continental or full breakfast foods. Checkout was easy and again, staff very friendly and helpful. Would always stay here when in the area. November 17, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location We have used this hotel several times when visiting the O2, sadly this year wasn't its best. We waited a long time to check in with no apologies for the delay or explanation. The room was clean and of their usual standard although the pillows were described as soft but were very hard. The water in the shower kept going cold and then really hot. We arrived down for breakfast at 10:15, it was open until 10:30 but soon after sitting down they started removing all the food and clearing away the tables, one waitress even came and took our condiments while we were still eating. Overall not one of our better experiences. This hotel is in a good position for the O2 which is why I would recommend it. November 16, 2013

Directions on the web-site on location are very brief if arriving by tube; the hotel is not obviously visible from the tube station - no direction finders, signs or location given on maps at the station. On check in, we were given a number of incorrect pieces of information. On the each of the first 2 days, one of us were in the shower when the water ran out - not just hot but any! Amenities in the room were not complete on arrival, and not fully replenished each day. The room was small and cramped; breakfast was poorly laid out and organised, and when busy reminded me of queuing up with a tray for school dinners. The location for the 02 arena is excellent, but other than that there is nothing else around the hotel. The amount paid when there is an event is ridiculously high, and is not value for money - I have paid about a quarter the rate at better Holiday Inn Express in other cities in the UK, and even for London the rate is too high and far from value for money. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good location but eat out The hotel provides good,clean, no-frills accommodation. Staff are polite, helpful and welcoming. It is well situated, within walking distance of Millennium Dome and Emirates Air-line (10 min) and Greenwich Cutty Sark (25 min). Buses are convenient and frequent - we got all the way back to Russell Square free with our bus-passes! The 'free' breakfast is satisfactory, but avoid the evening menu - it sounds attractive, but it's overpriced basic quality 'pub' food. Far better use the Chinese restaurant attached to the hotel. An ideal location, very close to the O2, with all its restaurants, Greenwich Quay for a boat direct to centre of London and Greenwich itself. Hotel has good parking facilities and was very clean. Bedroom was great, with a comfortable bed and very comfortable sofa bed. Bathroom spacious and clean. Despite being by a main road, there was no noise in the room. Good choice at the free breakfast and despite it being busy, the staff worked hard to keep the food items replenished. Reception staff were friendly, helpful and had a good knowledge of area. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by some of the staff need to learn some manners !! check in was OK.. and room was comfy and clean.. staff made up the sofa bed .. first night was a bad experience as a group of teenagers decided to run around the corridors after midnight and sit outside their rooms... I phoned reception and asked if someone could come sort this out.. nobody did! I then had to resort to asking them on several occasions to keep the noise down..I reported this in morning and was told i could move to the quiet floor on level 6 but wouldn't know what room it was until after checkout.. fair enough.. after another busy day in london i asked reception what room i was in.. he said he didnt know his colleague did.and then seen to someone else.. so after standing about for 10 minutes i asked where this colleague was? he said she serving at the bar.. so i asked the lady if she knew what room i was in.. she said no i don't.. so i went back to reception and told him this, he said have u asked her ? i said yes , he said she does.. so i went back to the lady and said you do know about it... i said ive been standing here wanting to go to my room and relax and im being ignored.. she eventually came over and sorted it and said he should of been able to help you.. i went to my room eventually and phoned down to ask if sofa bed could be made up.. i was questioned as to why i wanted the sofa bed made up as there was 2 people in the room and i had checked in yesterday.. i said because we've move rooms and my teenage son doesnt want to sleep with his mam.. not that i should have to explain myself to you or anyone.. her attitude was appalling.. her name was Fanni I think... no this is not a joke either! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A perfect place to stay in Greenwich I booked this hotel for 3 couples but never staying in Greenwich or at this hotel didn't know what to expect. What a perfect place, just a walk to the O2, just a bus ride into Greenwich and so easy to get to. The staff were really friendly and obliging, room was clean warm and comfortable and the breakfast just right. No queues at the breakfast bar and all the food was fresh. The reason I booked in Greenwich was because the cost of central London hotels are too much now so I decided to look further out. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to have a London weekend break. It is easy to to get to the city but there is so much to do and see in Greenwich so have a change! Loved Greenwich and plan to visit again, definitely staying at the Holiday Inn Express Greenwich,. November 5, 2013
