Overall this is the first time stayed and due to it being in Limehouse not far from friends and also DLR to Excel. Arrived early and was allowed to drop off bag in storage. overall pleasant stay and as for breakfast... if like me meat isn't the preferred choice... scrambled egg and beans wasn't really appetising. had it been friend egg, possible hash browns alongside beans and scrambled egg maybe the veg option for hot food been better.

Close to dlr, good sized clean room, staff friendly, able to leave luggage , breakfast is ok,but hot choices are limited and can get busy. Located next door to cement works so prob not for a honeymoon

Good stay if you are in London for business in this area. Well connected with underground and DLR. Service is swift, breakfast is standard. Be aware of executive cabs ordered by hotel staff, they will charge you double the standard black cab rates.

Overall a great hotel in a okay location, not far from the tube station. Very comfortable, modern and spacious room. Staff were all friendly and the lobby was tastefully decorated. Would be better if there was a larger breakfast choice.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by taylor swift chilly start!
We were there the night of the fire alarm going off, unavoidable, but unfortunately the hot water system wasn't reset so a cold shower in the morning!
That said, the staff were very welcoming when we arrived, the room was spotless, breakfast was plentiful and the croissants delicious! Shame someone didn't think to leave extra pillows and an extra mug as there were three of us in the room. (I'll remember to check next time)
Overall, I would certainly stay here again - great location, minutes from the DLR.
Just hope next time I get a decent nights sleep - just spoiled our second day.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gra Vegas A great place to stay to access the City and very comfortable at a competi
This is a very good hotel. Comfortable and very accommodating staff. The location is good for easy access to both the City and Canary Wharf. An easy walk to the latter along the river embankment. Good Bus and Light Railway link. Can be accessed without entering the Congestion Zone. Stayed twice now and will use again when I visit London for a few days break.

Prison cell rooms, zero comfort. Internet did not work. Staff did not now how to make it work. Breakfast buffet was depressing.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Esbt Alarmingly good hotel
A conveniently located hotel for our needs, which provided just the right accommodation at a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the buffet breakfast was surprisingly good. Had it not been for a false fire alarm at 4 am we would have had a very good night's sleep!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by stevieshoes2 Poor value for money
Having seen acceptable room rates in London at other locations, the rate paid was excessively high. This I understand was due to an event being held at the nearby O2 arena. My colleagues who have stayed here at different times of the year have never paid such a high rate. Not happy about this at all, for the rate charged I would have expected my bags carried to my room, dinner included, and a suite - not a double room with shower.
The breakfast was disappointing as well - no welcome and no offer of the traditional 'full english'.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Daveabraham Not the best
I have stayed at this hotel many times and it's sad to say it's not upto the standard you would expect. The rooms are rather dated now and the beds are so uncomfortable . The pillows are useless I had 3 as they are so thin. The AC units are pointless, they do nothing at all.
Every time we have requested late checkout yet housekeeping still bang in the door at 11am , ignoring the do not disturb sign on the door.
Breakfast, well one time we had to ask for more to be cooked as at 10am nothing was left only cereal. The second time a few sausages where left and some beans. No bacon, no eggs. The croissants taste so cheap it is unreal.
When we went to checkout and drive away the guy on reception accused us of not paying for our parking. Despite still having the ticket in the window. I had to get the receipt out of my bag and show him. This really should have been updated when I checked in to show that it was all paid for.
This hotel lets the brand down which is a shame.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Gruna Good hotel with good price.
The hotel is good and the staff is friendly. We have staid at the hotel before and had a very good experience but not this time, because the fire alarm went on in the middle of the night, so we had not a good night sleep. The hotel is far away from the center of the city but we had to do buisness close by, so that didn´t bother us.
We will probably be staying at the hotel next time we visit London. The price is good, the rooms and the beds are good and breakfast is good.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Toni1234h Not the normal standard Holiday Inn
I always stay in Holiday Inn hotels, but this I will rate as average only.
I had stayed 2 days, I initially informed the catering staff that theres far too much salt in your eggs could you let the cook know. I never even got an acknowledgment even though I wasnt complaining I was just giving feedback. Next day at breakfast the same again, my partner also found it very salty. I spoke to one of the staff who told me. I was wrong and mistaken, I asked him to try it which he didnt. I wss then just ignored and not spoken too.. Very rude. Not the normal experience I get when ive stayed with holiday inn express. It reslly has put me and mrs off.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Avery510 Great Staff and Good Location
We had a long stay and were very happy with this hotel. The room was comfortable although there aren't any dressers or closet but the shelves and long bar worked fine. The bathroom was wonderful, great shower. The room and bathroom were kept very clean and a hotel employee asked us several times if the housekeeping was satisfactory. The cleaning staff was very accommodating to our schedules. The front desk staff was wonderful, especially Tibor and Leta who were very kind. We did have an electricity problem but accommodations and adjustments were made promptly. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, filling and the buffet had just about everything you could ask for. It was kept replenished and clean. The tables were cleaned immediately by a very nice lady. The only problem was the wakeup service which was late a couple of times. The location is very good, not far from the DLR and there are several restaurants in the area. Ian McKellen's pub is not far and the hotel recommended restaurants which were very good. This is a well run hotel and we were very happy with it. Thank you to the staff! It makes all the difference.

Very good soundproofing for the windows meant that traffic noise was not a problem. I don't see the need for a wall between the lifts and the common areas of the hotel on the reception/restaurant level. Removing the wall would improve access for everyone from the street level and show off the attractive staircase and pendant lights at the front of the building. This simple change would significantly improve the impact of the building's design on visitors, giving a far better first impression of the hotel and making it easier to move around the common areas on this floor.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Senior@Durham Handy location
I stayed a week and found the standard of the hotel to be in line with a typical Holiday Inn Express. It's location is good - just a few minutes walk to Limehouse station and 2 stops to Tower Hill Gateway. It's beside a busy road but the noise levels were not intrusive. Staff were helpful, arranging a taxi to St.Pancras early in the morning - thanks to Mark on the front desk. Check out was a bit more confusing. They could not find my bill and I had to pay without sight of the bill, it only being printed afterwards. It should not happen this way. But minor niggles. The room was clean and good value in relation to hotels in the City, though the bed and pillows were not to my liking. Breakfast was fine and the area clean and well looked-after. Maybe not a cosy hotel but utilitarian and practical.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Yorkie2 Reasonable price (for London) - dreadful breakfast
Good news was room on inside and high enough to be away friom air-cond plant, so it was quiet . Breakfast was dreadful with very little choice by time I got there (circa 9.30) and very poor quality. Still, for London, not a bad (senior) price.

Hotel was very clean, easy to find and not far from the station. Staff were brilliant, they were so helpful. Would definitely use again and would recommend. Still not sure as to why my bag was found unzipped when it was locked up in the luggage room!!!! at least nothing was missing but didn't like the idea of a stranger going through it when I wasn't there.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Spider_Scott Overall, it was good!
Stayed a couple of times and would stay again, the breakfast is poor, the alcoholic beverages are expensive and it is a shame the staff do not allow takeaways to be delivered to the room but other than that, it is good overall and value for money if booked in advance.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Camino13 Convenient location, good value
Holiday Inn Express Limehouse is conveniently located 3 minutes walk from Docklands Light Railway, with easy access to City Airport, ExCeL exhibition centre, Docklands, and the West End. Reception and assistance was friendly and speedy, the room was simple but included all essentials including wifi, and servicing was efficient. The self-service breakfast included a cooked meal and a wide choice of cereals and drinks. This hotel can be recommended for those not requiring unnecessary luxury or a restaurant for lunch or supper.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by rob_london Most unpleasent checkin experience
I booked this room via the phone as a last minute as I was stranded whilst moving house and needed a bed for the night. The receptionists demanded photographic ID. As I was moving house I had all this in the van but passport and driving license happened to be unreachable.
I presented 5 credit and debit cards, bank statements - both business and personal, a checkbook and other official documents linked to my address.
I was told they could not check me in but if I went over to the internet kiosk at the other end of reception I could book on-line and there would be no problem. The computer barely worked and served no purpose than to frustrate me seeing as the computer was doing what they were supposed to be doing at reception right behind me??
