Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sallyp GREAT LOCATION - NOT SUCH GOOD BREAKFAST EXPERIENCE
We attended a concert, so the hotels location for the O2 was fantastic.
Easy check in - and basic but comfortable room. Abit of traffic noise.
Breakfast was a nightmare, limited staffing, they ran out of food, crockery, and what was there ,was very basic.
Would have given a better rating if continental only had been offered, as the cooked was not great! However the coffee from machine was the best

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by weeblair11 Nice place Nice Staff
Stayed here while attending the Robbie Williams concert at the O2. Good choice of hotel for this venue. The hotel is friendly and inviting starting at reception. It has a small and reasonably priced bar, Ok for a couple of drinks either before or after.
We stayed in room 423 at the rear of the hotel nice room, very quiet.
The breakfast in the morning is very good, I like my breakfast and felt it was more than adequate to start the day. You can have either cooked or cold, plenty of all. We were late in coming down and there was still plenty left.
The get to the hotel from the centre of London get the Jubilee Line underground to Canning Town, when you exit turn right and walk about 500 yards, look for Italian Pizza restaurant on the opposite side of the road, the hotel is just beyond this. You may have read that there are no shops. Not true, if you need anything when coming out of the underground, cross the road, go to your left walk about 200 yards go right and there is a Co-op supermarket, Nisa and MacDonalds.
To get to the O2 take the underground from Canning Town to North Greenwich - one stop.
My wife and I opted for a one day ticket £15.60 for the two of us, great value as it appeared that journeys cost £8.60 for two one way.You can only buy either 1 or 7 day tickets. Day ticket great for getting on and off if you are sightseeing as well.
Would I recommend this hotel for any trip for visiting the O2, without a doubt, go for it you will not disappointed.

Great location so easy to find from Canning Town Interchange.
O2 Arena is on the doorstep infact a 2min tube journey..
Had to give "able to relax" a fair rating as we only stopped the 1 night and after seeing Mr Williams perform another 2 hour fantastic stage set it takes u a while to come down.....
Recommend this hotel for any O2 Event and will use again if we get the chance to

I'd like to compliment the reception staff on the friendly welcome received. They furnished my friend and I with the information we needed for a comfortable stay. The room was warm, comfortable and well appointed and I would use a Holiday Inn again.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and both times we have had a most pleasurable experience. On both occasions we have visited the O2 and used the hotel as our base. Only one stop on the tube it makes the location ideal. We feel at home during our stay and all the staff always look after our every need. I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn for any business or leisure trip. We shall continue to use this venue every time we visit London.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by berta Dietary requirements
Myself and my friend both have a caffine intollerance and were unable to get decaff tea in the morning, I asked staff but they said they did not have any. My friend is lactose intollerant and ended up having to eat food with milk in it to ensure she got enough food to eat for breakfast,
The hotel itself, was fantastic, I just felt that dietary requirements should be asked after and covered, when possible.
Perhaps a box for entering on the booking form. Lactose intollerance is quite common and should be catered for within the breakfast selection.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by F1Andy Good value, easy access to London City Airport
Clean, comfortable room. everything worked. Friendly, helpful staff.
The hotel is a short walk from the Canning Town Underground/DLR station - you can see the hotel sign from the station.
Works quite well for access to the London City Airport.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Boxer1200 Excellent staff, good service and convenient location.
The staff at the hotel were very efficient, friendly and exceptionally helpful. This includes reception staff, maintenance staff, kitchen and restaurant staff through to the cleaners. Our room was clean and reasonably spacious and served us well.
The location was a short 2 minute walk from Canning Town Station. The station provided buses, the Dockland Light Railway and a tube station, Jubilee line.
The included breakfast was the standard Holiday Inn Express offering but there was everything anyone could want (except bacon!) and it was all well presented and well cooked where appropriate. One of the best we have experienced in the HI Express brand.
Some minor problems eg faulty kettle were resolved immediately by reception and maintenance staff. Excellent response.
Parking is available on site for a reasonable cost, considering the location. The nightly room price varied a great deal over our 5 night stay as is common in most hotels used by business clientelle so this was to be expected. WiFi in rooms at no cost would have been nice but again it is common practice to charge for this in most hotel groups.
The excellent staff make this a hotel worth considering if you are visiting the area for the O2, the Excel Centre or London in general. Highly recommended.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by toeknee123 Modern hotel but a bit pricey!!
This is the first time I stayed at the hotel. The main reason I booked the hotel is it had a car park & was near to my place of business.
I was shocked to find they are charging £10.00 per night to stay in the car park to paying hotel residents. The web site does not tell you the cost as I assumed it was free to paying residents. Too late when you arrive tired after a long journey to question the car park fee or go to another hotel.
The hotel is newly built. The room was modern & comfortable on the 4th floor away from all the traffic & noise. It has a flat screen tv with most of the freeview channels. I was allowed to use the internet complimentry as a gold member but this is normally £10.00 per 24hr period.
They do not serve hot food only hot beverages and bottled beer like cider & lager. They also have a couple of draught beers like Stella Artois.
Breakfast starts at 06.30am and is self service continental & some hot food. A choice of cereals, yoghurts, jams, pastries & a toaster to make toast. The hot food was baked beans, scrambled egg & sausages, day after day after day. Why they could not serve bacon for a change I do not know.
The lounge/ rest area has a large screen tv which I hoped would have satelite channels like football or sky but each evening the freeview radio, Heart station was played.
As I mentioned no food at night but you can call for a take-away to be delivered like Indian, Chinese or Italian. There is a Italian restaurant next door.
To some up, because of the expensive car park fee (£50.00 to pay extra on a five night stay), lack of hot meals in the evening & lack of choice/ variety of hot breakfast, I will not be staying there again. Too expensive for a Holiday Inn Express in my opinion even if it is in London.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by captainchaos Location reasonably good, very average atmosphere and food
This is a basic establishment, cosmopolitan in clientele, but plain in apprearance, atmosphere, and facilities. I have stayed here twice, and it wasn't my choice. If it were, I would not have visited a second time.
the location is good, 200 yds rom Canning Town station, so at the hub of DLR/jubilee network. Otherwise, it's a bit of a desert, but then, most docklands hotels are no better situated.
The rooms are basic, comfortable, but lack drawers - everything is shelves.
THe breakfast is basic, tinned grapefruit is not my idea of the only fruit for breakfast time. Sausage beans and farily stale scrambled egg does not inspire - no bacon!
Last time, there were complimetary newspapers - not this time - a shame..

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Facilities for wheelchair users - good (apart from rather high bathroom sink, and high door handle/lock to room - regular height wheelchair users should be okay, though). Facilities for Assistance Dogs - good. Bushes within the hotel compound where dog could relieve himself, plus a dog-waste bin just outside the hotel, on the main road.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NigeandDi Excellent room and service
We celebrated our Ruby wedding anniversary with a 5 night trip to London doing the sites and 4 shows. The hotel was very comfortable, we had an excellent room and travel to central London was very easy and quite quick. The breakfast was sufficiently filling to enable us to go through the day without needing to eat until the evening. The hotel could do with varying the breakfast fare as after 5 days of exactly the same three hot items (sausage, scrambled egg and baked beans) it became somewhat boring. The bread rolls and croissants were excellent.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Paralympic22 Great Location for Olympic Parks
The Hotel was comfortable, location was excellent for what we needed to get to the Olympic park and surrounding areas. The response to an issue was very slow and needed to be prompted several times.
(The kettle in the room tripped out the electrics)
However the temp measure was acceptable and supplied without to much of an issue.

I was in London to attend the Paralympics with a group of American Wounded Warriors, and the accomodations were excellent. The room was neat and clean, and the staff was very helpful. The hotel is walking distance from the Excel Center where several of the Paralympics events were held, and was also walking distance from the train station when we wanted to explore London on our own. While there aren't many choices for dining, the staff had a variety take out menus available and didn't hesitate when asked to call an order in for me. I'd definitely stay there again.

We had a very enjoyable stay and found our stay to be very good value for money. We would have liked bacon to have been included in the breakfast though and more fruit options - that's the only criticism we would make.

The staff at the London-Royal Docks, Docklands was helpful and polite. They made our visit to the Olympics a great deal smoother by suggesting locations for dinner with our young daughters. They had menus available to order take away and even supplied plates and silverware. The room was neat and clean every day. This hotel was comfortable for our family while still accomodating business persons.

This was a comfortable stay and 2 point to mention are -
1. I was not given a receipt for my expenses, I would appreciate it if I could be sent a copy please.
2. I did not enjoy the breakfast menu, there was no bacon, tomato , mushrooms and the general serving area in to small for the people trying to drinks etc in the breakfast peak time.
