Robert and Dale, the two managers that assisted us were absolutely great, they answered all our questions gave us excellent suggestions on how to get to places and things to see. They were extremely helpful with making sure that our stay at the hotel was everything it could be and very helpful with making sure that everything went well. I cannot recommend them enough.

Same breakfast everyday. Room is small and cosy. Location close to underground. Overall a nice stay. If you are an IHG member, you get a late check-out. There is a restaurant near-by and a supermarket.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mikey59 location of hotel
This hotel was ideal for visiting the surrounding area of Stratford and the O2, The staff were so friendly and knowledgable about the surrounding area and all the local transport available, This hotel very close to the excel arena it is within 10-15 minutes walking distance, Iwould recomend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit South London, The only criticism i would have is that the bed was not the comfiest one i have slept in otherwise a very nice and well look after hotel

Comfortable and clean only spoilt by the inconsiderate bloke in the room next door on his phone at 5.00am. That's the problem with the cheaper hotels, they attract the less civilised.

having stayed in holiday inns before, and had no problem, we very much suspect that we all had problems with breakfast. We arrived at breakfast at 9am. and although it is advertised that breakfast is till 10, all the hot food was only warm and not hot We suspect it had been sat there for a while We were all ill following our stay with holiday inn, and although are not certain that the breakfast was to blame, we very much suspect that it was. We feel sure that had the temperature of the sausages been taken they would not have been at the safe temperature for service.
Maybe somebody could check the temperature of the hot food half way through breakfast?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gigman0356 Great Location, Service and Value
We booked this hotel to attend a concert at the O2 which is only 1 tube stop from hotel making the location ideal. The room was very clean and well equipped (We have stayed in hotels at nearly twice the cost with the same level of equipment). All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful.
We will definitely stay at this hotel again on our next visit to the O2.

I booked the hotel for a concert at the O2. I was pleased wit hthe room, very quiet even with the window open. I didn't notice the AC switch round the corner. Super breakfast selection also. Only one tube stop from the O2.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TimeTraveller92 Excellent hotel with excellent staff
It's hotel is fantastic. The staff are so friendly and polite. We were greeted by a delightful receptionist who checked us in and made us feel very welcome. The room was spotless, modern and to a high quality. The bed was very comfortable and the choice of pillows was a wonderful touch. The television was of a good spec. Overall we were very impressed with the room. Breakfast was superb with something to suit every tastebud. I would highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by wyle Ideal hotel for access to the O2
Visiting London for a concert at the O2. Hotel was very nice, room very comfortable & clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel was only a few stops on the DLR from London City Airport with only a short walk to reach the hotel from the station. DLR links to Canary Wharf & the Jubilee line which takes you either to the O2 or central London. I have used Holiday Express Inns before and always had a good experience staying in their hotels.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Angela327 Excellent location for tourists
This was the first time my friend and I have stayed at this hotel. Although further out of the city than our previous hotels the Jubilee Line from Canning Town station, which is in sight of the hotel, is a quick and easy journey into Westminster providing easy access for the tourist sights. It is a quiet location and we were able to sleep with the window open as we had a room on the 4th floor at the back. The facilities were spotless and the breakfast excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. It also makes a very convenient stopover for events at the O2 as it is only one stop away from Canning Town.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Monkey28 Great hotel if attending the O2
Brilliant hotel for the price we paid for a twin room. Tube/train/bus station 2 minutes down the road, one stop away from the O2 and about 15 minute journey in to Central London. Lovely clean rooms, with modern fittings and comfy beds. Some late people noise on the main street but we had the windows open as it was such a hot night. Would be first choice again for O2 visits. Good breakfast and very pleasant helpful staff.

I was a little disappointed coming back to this hotel. It seems old and dated now compared to the newer HiExpress hotels. It is the usual clean comfortable stay but there is no overhead lighting and the wash basin took ages to empty. I think it has become very expensive since the run up to the Olympics. Some hotels in the centre of London are cheaper. I would still recommend it, as it is only a very short walk to the tube and bus station to get anywhere you want.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by KLoRom Friendly atmosphere, basic but comfortable and a good location
This hotel offers good value for money and is in a good, convenient location for the O2, ExCel and all of the Docklands. My room was clean and comfortable with tea/coffee facilities but few toiletries. The breakfast was basic but of good quality. I would like to see a greater variety of cereals and some fresh fruit on offer. I was disappointed with the bar and I object to having to pay for wi-fi access.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Geb51 Overnight stay, short but satisfactory
Stayed here after going to the O2 Arena - like many guests. Hotel is really convenient and comfortable for this purpose. The staff I encountered were pleasant and the room a good size and clean. My only slight criticism would be that the soundproofing between rooms isn't great but my neighbour didn't sing all the time, thankfully!
Would recommend if you need to be in this part of London.

I can't fault this hotel for the price or location to the O2. The girl at the check in desk was really pleasant and friendly giving us all the information that we asked for and more.
I was pleasantly surprised with the twin room, spotless, fresh, lovely comfy beds and pillows and with air conditioning. The shower room was lovely as well with nice touches such as the hand wash and shower cream.
The breakfast was nice, fairly good choice and well set out so you can help your self.
I would definately go back if we were in that area again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by EverybodyCooks Bad bed and too far from London, but friendly staff
Aside from the friendly and helpful staff, we wouldn't recommend this hotel.
The mattress of our double bed was awful, you could feel the springs, and it was over-soft. We spent four nights there and honestly, we weren't able to get a good night sleep, because of the poor mattress and pillow quality.
The breakfast buffet was okay. The viennoiserie were quite stale, and everything was the same everyday: scrambled eggs, sausages, and baked beans, bread, jam, butter, some fruits, yoghurts (which were completely tasteless), cereals, juice, coffee, and tea.
The location is not convenient as it is located completely east in the Docklands, past Canary Wharf. Even though you are a 5 minutes walk from the Canning Town DLR Station, you are completely outside downtown London.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jackieab OK, but no Fairtrade
The hotel provides value for money, but as a socially responsible hotel group would be much improved by making available Fairtrade marked coffee and tea instead of the dreaded Nescafe. Cafe Direct and Clipper Fairtrade products would go well with the image of social responsibility.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tray52 Slight disappointment
On the whole our stay was ok just a couple of issues. Feeling chilly in the evening we both felt that the bedding was not welcoming, warming or indeed remotely adequate. The covers were thin and small on our twin beds and there were no blankets in the room that we could have used. This is the first time i have stayed in a hotel and not been supplied with additional bedding should we need it. Also there was only one bath towel which I consider to be very bad and the one we had was rough and felt horrible to use. We had friends stay in two other rooms the same night and they had no bath towels supplied at all. Also taps yucky in bathroom and plug smelt.
Breakfast was pleasant so that helped the lack of comfort in the room.
I had intended to mention it when I checked out assuming I would be asked if everything had been ok but I wasn't asked and was treated quite abruptly by the reception staff as usual without a smile.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Beyonce and shopping trip from the isle of wight
It was my daughters first time driving on the motorway so we set off from the isle of wight with plenty of time. She was a natural and arrived way ahead of schedule but this was no bother to the waiting reception staff. The date was friday 3rd of may and the two young girls on reception were fabulous. They advised us that checking in was in a few hours and allowed us to leave our car in the car park and venture off for an afternoon of shopping. Having stayed in some of the best hotels around I can honestly say those girls could teach them a few things about customer service and friendly welcomes. Top marks to the holiday inn for looking after their customers.

Driving to this hotel I found it difficult to find, even local taxi drivers could not direct us.
The room was small, the 'Sofa' bed, provided for a third adult was very small.
Similar problems in the breakfast room, trying to 'Save Money' the staff were slow to bring out sufficient food. Cost cutting and profit at this Hotel is effecting the image of the brand.
I wanted an overnight stay prior to flying out the following morning from City Airport, fully intending to drop off the hire car that night and taking public transport. Trying to locate the hotel left us arriving late, parking at the rear of the hotel and walking to the front is not a safe experience. Parking charges apply and the extra days car hire together with an overpriced, Monday booking did nothing to enhance the stay.
