Stay all over the world with ihg and am platinum elite member, but I have to say this was the most friendly one I've stayed in. Nothing too much trouble. Asked for directions to the tube, they actually walked out of the hotel to point the way. Asked for late checkout. As they weren't busy the next night they asked me what time I'd prefer. Clean, friendly and great location. Thanks to all the staff. Congratulations to the management. You have this hotel running superbly. Great breakfast too. Sausages yummy. I was determined to let people know as this type of friendliness snd customer service is very rare these days. Thank you. November 6, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Half term trip Popped into London for a couple of nights using Priority points and had a very enjoyable stay in Southwark. Hotel is a short walk from the tube either across the bridge from Charring Cross or Southwark, I'd recommend the latter if Wx is wet as its a less exposed walk. Hotel was compact and friendly and staff very helpful, breakfast was better day two as on day one the croissants were burnt and the scrambled egg a bit inspired and salty but lots of other tasty choices so wouldn't let that put you off. We went to the eye which was approx. 20m walk if you go along the river but also very close to Tate Modern and the Festival Hall. Lots do by the river and it was very busy the last few days of half term. Also good access to St Paul's via the non wobbly bridge. November 6, 2014

The hotel was perfectly situated to use as our base to explore London. The breakfast was fine plenty of cereals/toast/croissants and there were 3 hot items available, we will definitely stay again the next time we visit our son.. November 5, 2014

For instance, the receptionist showed us how to find our way around the South Bank and helped us to organise transport to theatres and the station. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Customer Service!! I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Southwark from 10/17 - 10/25 and again from 10/27 - 10/29. I actually had several separate reservations - some on points, some paid, and some made separate in case of a change in travel plans. When I checked in, I asked if it was possible to be placed in the same room for my entire stay. Paco was extremely helpful and found me an excellent, recently updated room that was available the next day for the entire rest of my stay. Every time I had a question or a request the front desk staff were helpful, efficient, and friendly. When I left for a side trip to Manchester, they held my larger bag for me until I returned two days later and also gave me back my same room when I checked back in! I found the breakfast to be better than what I usually get from the Holiday Inn Express hotels in the US, especially the eggs. The bed in my recently updated room was comfortable, and I was not bothered by any excessive noise from inside or outside the hotel. There were several places to eat nearby, and two different grocery options within just a few blocks. I would highly recommend this hotel to any travelers looking for a reasonably priced room near all the central London attractions. I would also like to thank the entire front desk staff, especially Paco, for all of their help and excellent service during my stay. November 4, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Staff, new and clean hotel but not relaxing due to building noise The staff were very good especially the staff on breakfast but unfortunately while the room was very new and clean there was a new property being constructed 10 feet behind the room (124) we stayed in. At 7am each morning the construction vehicles, drills and hammering started so no lie in possible during the whole of our 4 day stay. My wife has ME and on one day of our trip she was unwell and had to stay in bed, needless to say with the noise going on all day it was not a great experience for her. Good hotel for location etc. and without the construction work going on I would recommend it, but if your going to stay there in the meanwhile make sure you room is at the front of the hotel unless your an early riser or wait until the property at the rear of the hotel is finished. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Holiday Inn, Southwark The hotel is small, with friendly and helpful staff. It's in an excellent location, a short walk from the South Bank, Tate Modern and Millennium Bridge, and is easy to get to from nearby Southwark tube station. For the price, I'd have expected a bit more than the 'Youth Hostel' style dining room and reception areas. The room was basic, but clean and comfortable. My room faced outwards onto busy Southwark Road and traffic was audible, even with the window closed. If you are a light sleeper, I would suggest contacting the hotel direct and ordering a room at the back of the building. I have recommended the property because it is clean and centrally located, but I think it is expensive for what you get. November 2, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn lives up to its name After almost 9 hours of flying time from the Caribbean it was quite refreshing to be able to arrive at Holiday Inn and have the parking facilities for the car i rented from the Airport. This made life easy to take my suitcase up to the lobby and have a speedy check in.The following days were hectic business pace but the hotel staff especially Paco and Carol were professional and helpful. Therefore I can recommend Holiday Inn to anyone who travels from far for business or pleasure. October 27, 2014
