Pre booked , pre paid as a IHG club member . At check in told by reception that room booked no longer available as it " had been reallocated due to a large group booking "
We were given a limited access room , nothing wrong with the room but we were left with the impression that we were close to sleeping on the park bench due to a hotel sell out !
Moral ? beware trusting this hotels room booking practices .

Not a great Holiday Inn Express. Apparently it's a new building, but you can't tell; the guestrooms and corridors are cramped, and the lighting is very grim. There aren't a lot of alternatives nearby, but next time I'd be looking for a better option somewhere else.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Sightlessid Clean room and handy location.
We were a family of four sharing one room. New London hotel rooms have shrunk so don't expect a lot of room. It was fine for one night.
However like all hotels when you book a room for four people there are still only towels, cups and tea/coffee for two. Too late and tired to ask for more.
Overall it was very clean, comfy and the staff were friendly.
There is a lovely pub about 2-3 blocks up the road called The Provenance which we really enjoyed. Kids welcome but no kids menu but seem happy to accommodate through starters etc.

It's waaaay out of town - calling it South Wimbledon is stretching it - but Collier's Wood station is just outside so sit on the Northern Line and you'll get to somewhere you recognize eventually. Hotel is nice, modern, inexpensive for London and has a secure car park so good if you need to drive into London.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Carol285 All my needs were met
Traffic noise is a problem for those rooms facing the main road but suprisingly I slept with the window open each night - and slept very well. I turned off all the heating and was still very snug in a most comfortable bed. My room was close to the lifts but I am happy to report there was no noise from that area or adjoining rooms. I was visiting the nearby hospital and had the flu so perhaps my circumstances prevented me from relaxing fully. The breakfast was plentiful and of good quality and variety - the croissants reminiscent of the quality of baking produced by my mother in my youth. Tried to extend my stay but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked. Easy access to bus, taxi, train and within walking distance of the hospital.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by David1124 Good breakfast, great location
My first time here since the makeover and the improvements are just fantastic, everything was as I'd expect from a good Holiday Inn, just a bit disappointed with the maid that (didn't) service our room, tea and coffee not stocked, glasses from the bar were just left in the room and no clean cups. Other than that, a very good experience, reception staff were spot-on and the breakfast was lovely. Would stay again.

This is a great location - outside of central London and quick walk to the Tube station.
The staff here is one of the best. They answered all the questions we had. Directed us to a pharmacy and the post office. Quickly provided extra towels we needed. Called a taxi for us to get to the airport.

I was fortunate to find a fine hotel located in an area of London where I was born and raised. Situated opposite the Colliers Wood tube station and with access to so many buses it was the ideal location for my wife and myself. We have stayed at many hotels, mostly in the United States, and rank our stay at your property up there with the very best. Your staff was fantastic, were very friendly, helpful and made us feel special.
The guest room was well decorated and immaculate as was the bathroom. We were in a room facing the busy street but we always travel with a white noise machine which drowned out all the street noise. The thick curtains kept the room dark at night. The twin beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. The interior of the hotel was very quiet at night. More storage in the form of drawers and a larger coat hanger area would have been nice but a minor problem. We would also have appreciated face cloths. The shower floor was a little slippery but another minor problem.
The courtesy breakfast was excellent and among the best we have ever had at a hotel. The eggs, sausages, croissants, choice of fruit, cheeses, juices and especially the variety of hot beverages (mocha, latte, tea, cappuccino, etc.), all freshly brewed, was a treat. The breakfast staff were great.
Our stay at your property left little to be desired and was totally enjoyable. We will return to London next year and will stay at your excellent hotel again. Our thanks to your staff for making our stay with you so pleasant.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Soso1 Very good hotel
Good location as close to underground. Very modern and clean. Very comfort bed and very nice room. Staff are very nice. Only it is on a very busy road that you can hear the traffic all time. Next time I stay , I'll ask for a back room even I usually like rooms facing main road. But overall it is a very good experience .

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rizzo54 Great Service and Very Comfortable
I would like to thank the management and team for making my stay at the hotel enjoyable. It can be very difficult travelling with a small dog , but we were welcomed our room was modern and the decor was tasteful. Even though the hotel is situated on the main road which is located near Colliers Wood tube station and for Central London the room was extremely quiet ensuring a good nights sleep. The restaurant was modern and very comfortable the breakfast was buffet style with an excellent choice from full English to Continental . The staff were friendly and extremely helpful I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room size is good for one person. We had a single room for four person family and get single room (1 king bed and 1 sofa).
Additional breakfest is very nice option.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DaveAnne Welcoming and friendly hotel - offered extra equipment for disabled guest
Once again, we felt as if we were staying in a family run hotel as all the staff were friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay.
Mu husband is disabled and the hotel supplied additional equipment for him: elephants feet; a raised toilet seat and a bed support, which made the room more comfortable and safer for him.
We were so impressed by the service offered to us and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Colliers Wood/Tooting area.
Also lots of good restaurants nearby.

Every memeber of the group was satisfied with the service and the hotel. The convinience of metro makes it as if you are in the centre of the city. The rooms are nice, comfortable and clean, and spacious having in mind what is the usuall arrangement in London for the price we were given, All in all a great hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Good hotel, shae about the bed
The only thing that let down this stay was the bed. The mattress had clearly seen better days, hard and dipped in the middle, Also the "plastic" under-sheet made the sleeping conditions a bit sweaty!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Matt4523 Best HI Express
Having stayed at a few express hotels this was by far the best. Recently refurbished and spotlessly clean. However what really made it was the reception staff, so friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Also great location across road from Colliers Wood tube station.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ne55ie Excellent staff
Hotel was really easy to get to from the tube station. Very clean and comfortable.
Wee bit noisy when things were getting delivered,(our room was at the back of the hotel).
Good selection of food at breakfast.
My only moans are the columns that are in the middle of the passageway to the rooms and that there is no toiletry extras like shower cap, body lotion etc.
Would recommend for a quick stay or doing a bit of touring around London.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Terrible customer service and awful breakfast
Personally I would not stay here again. Breakfast was beyond poor, burnt rock hard sausages, no bacon, rubbery scrambled eggs and not enough plates and mugs. Staff no where to be seen. Rude receptionist who lost a booking by looking at the wrong day, no apologies just VERY rude.
Only positive was the room was clean and the pub next-door is great.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AliB63 Caring and Friendly
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Colliers Wood so as to be near St George's Hospital where my husband was recovering from emergency heart surgery. The staff never once forgot why I was there, always asked after my husband and how he was doing, and this was during a very busy Wimbledon week, where you might well have expected them to assume I was watching the tennis! Very well done, to all the staff, and thank you sincerely for making my difficult stay in London as caring and homely as possible.

For me even if this hotel is not in Zone 1 there is no problem by
the underground to reach all what you need in Central London.
The stuff is very friendly and felt like part of the family after staying for more than a week.
Even if you need to reach Heathrow Airport a 75 minutes ride is not a problem.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Start4 Great family room
We had a family room, with double bed and a double sofa for the kids to share. A great big tv, that amused the children! The hotel / rooms were very clean and looked newly refurbished.
The staff were helpful, the parking ample, quick and easy buffet breakfast, and sited adjacent to Colliers Wood underground station, it couldn't be better for a no fuss weekend break to London with the family. We took the children to the science museum, and it took no more than 30mins on tube. Situated on a main road made access in easy, but traffic noise might be a problem for a light sleeper. (The kids enjoyed all the bustle and especially the double deckers!)
Would definitely go there, or one like it again!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Taraism24 Love This Place - Great Staff, Accommodations, Location - EVERYTHING!
This hotel was excellent - my experience was great! If you use public transportation, this is a perfect location. It's in London (south#, but very reasonably priced - literally across the street from the Tube and the bus drops you off about a block away. Walking at night was not an issue, and it was just me #a woman#, my seven year old son, and my dad.
I was very impressed with the FREE breakfast and the hours were very long! Some of the items were the same every morning #yogurt, eggs, cereal, etc.# but they also had a variety of food #fresh fruits, breads, meats, etc.). Great breakfast.
The rooms were good-sized, clean, and comfortable. The shower had great pressure and the whole hotel was very quiet. We had a street-facing room and with the windows closed you could hardly hear a thing going on outside. And we were on the first floor!
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - the manager who worked mornings during the breakfast rush worked his butt off with a smile on his face the whole time! Everyone speaks multiple languages, too, which I know was helpful to al lof the travelers.
Great hotel, great price, great location - I would recommend it to anyone!
