Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room. Comfortable room with excellent disabled friendly bathroom facilities and a good night's sleep. Air con was welcomed as weather was unusually hot at the time of my visit. Shame about the lack of personnel on duty. We waited over 15 minutes at the bar, hoping for a welcome drink in cool, clean surroundings. Only 1 visible member of staff on reception, who could not find time to serve us. If we had wanted to order dinner, there was no-one to take the order. I could not see evidence of a kitchen, although menus were provided. Disgusted we went next door for a cheaper drink with immediate friendly service. I voiced my concerns to Reception as I left early the following morning. August 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by all excellent. we stayed in this hotel 3 yrs ago for 3 days and found it good, this time we stayed for a week and with the renovation to the place its excellent. upon arrival 4hrs before check in, we was greeted with friendly staff and could get a coffee and breakfast whilst our luggage was in the office. rooms were clean and changed everyday, breakfast was great good variety (could add bacon) the biggest advantage for this hotel is the tube station outside. overall a very good stay and will be returning. a big thanks to all staff from room 109 August 9, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to par with other holiday inn express I have stayed at quite a few Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express and I found this one below the usual standard. I stayed for one night with my Wife and 2 children in a family room and our first issue was that the sofa-bed in the room we were assigned was not set up and had no linen. Additionally the air conditioning unit was leaking although we were told there was no other room we could be moved to, nor could the unit be fixed due to personnel availability. Finally the breakfast was especially disappointing. There was insufficient capacity for the number of guests. We had to wait for a table to become available... Then we had to wait for bowls, cups, cutlery to become available. Then we had to queue for 5mins for each item of food or drink we wanted. The food on offering was less than at any other similar hotel I have stayed. Overall a bit disappointing. August 7, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not he the best experience Stayed in many Holiday Inn hotels before, including this one. This time, it was altogether poor experience. The extra bed for my son was really bad ( a mattress that was not enough to shield the springs of the sofa bed), the room was really small with the sofa bed that we couldn't get to the window at night to open it.The staff was confused about the charges for wi fi (which should have been free for me as a Priority gold plus customer) - they told me that I have to pay and then had to show them the web page of Priority Club benefits page!) Anyway, the main reason to stay there is the proximity to tube station, so will have to go back! August 7, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room and hotel, superb location This hotel was chosen for its proximity to Wimbledon and easy transport links to various areas of the city. It did not disappoint! The room was comfortable although a bit more storage e.g. a set of drawers, would have been welcomed specially as our stay was for 5 nights so our luggage was not minimal. The room was cleaned every day - I did feel I had to remake the bed on a couple of days though. All staff were very helpful and professional. Overall a very pleasant stay and we will be back. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Location Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Wimbledon South during a trip to London to visit the Olympic park for the anniversary games. This hotel is a great trade off between price and location. At only 35 minutes from the centre of London via the tube it is ideally located, especially when you consider that the station is only across the street. There was ample space in the room for our group of 2 adult and 1 child. The reception staff were excellent and very attentive. I recommend this hotel and will definitely be staying here again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room but can be disturbing Third time I have stayed here and on each occasion the treatment by the staff and rooms have been of a quality that i do not hesitate to return when necessary. One 'ISSUE' is the very limited menu - so limited I hesitate in calling it a menu. Saying that there is plenty of food options in the neighbourhood - which maybe why. Breakfast I found to be variable on occasions all the options they have listed are available other times somewhat limited [although I have to admit I am an early starter and it may not all have been laid out]. Another issue is the local traffic noise - I have only stayed in rooms towards the front of the hotel and get to hear all the traffic but mainly Emergency Services, and on another occasion I was awoken by the delivery or waste collection services early morning (5am). I suspect rooms to the rear facing into the park would be best. PS Get the safe fixed please August 1, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room good, service disappointing The hotel amenities are fine, and offers reasonable accommodation. Room was comfortable, air conditioned. Disappointed with the training staff had received, went to the bar in the evening and asked for gin and tonic, was asked what this was. Had to point to bottle, then was asked what tonic was, again I pointed and said "next to the coke". Pretty bad for bar service. Was asked if I wanted to charge it to room, I said yes, then was told I couldn't...I got my card out to pay, at which point I was taken over to reception as the bar couldn't do card transaction. I was then asked if I had cash as it would be easier. Breakfast was adequate, hot choice very limited (scrambled eggs which tasted not much like eggs, baked beans and sausage). Not the best experience of a hotel, but far from the worst. July 31, 2013

It is extremely handy for the station just across the road and as we were spending three days sight seeing, it was ideal. Good choice of breakfast on a help yourself basis and comfortable lounge to sit in. It is simple, comfortable and guest-friendly. Just what I wanted. Thank you. July 31, 2013

The rooms are generally very nicely laid out with space to move (Family room Dble & sofa bed) although one critisism is the Air Cond - this is set on arrival [plugging in of your room key card] to 25 degrees - this might be nice in winter but not summer when the outside temp was 29 C and all you wanted to do was cool down. at the other end of the thermostat it only went down to 19C again just not cool enough for me! Windows were restricted - for safety reasons - but this also restricted the ability to cool your room down to allow a comfortable nights sleep. It would seem that on this visit they had problems with deliveries from their suppliers such that no beers in the bar, I also noticed some items were not on display at breakfast? Food Menu is very limited, in fact when I had the Lasagne is was Warm but by the time I got to the chips these were now cold so had to leave them - all I got was a simple 'sorry' on this occassion. I have to admit though that the staff have always tried to be as helpful as they can and always with a smile. July 20, 2013

Pros: - Hotel opposite underground tube station. - Reasonable price for this location (30 min tube ride from downtown). - Close to grocery store (Sainbury's) and inexpensive restaurants (I recommend Istanbul) - Free breakfast Cons: - room a bit small for sleeping 4 people. Clean bright room with all essentials required for a short stay.Only slept there so didnt need a room with a view. Breakfast a little disappointing as i like a full english but, have to admit there was plenty of choice from scrambled egg,sausage and beans to croissants, fruit etc July 13, 2013

Be sure to book "Standard Mini Cab" in advance if coming here from airport. Book via hotel to save $. Read complaints in bkfst. Don't understand them. I was there for 9 days. Hotel was full every day. Food was good and plentiful every day under toughest circumstances. Staff does great job. Thanks Florica and the others. Rooms are more than acceptable for class. They are clean. Wish there was a gym, but no luck. If I needed to stay in Colliers Wood again, I would stay here If you are there for Wimbledon Tennis at AELTC, plan on 12 GBP each way in private taxi. Public transport is not realistic. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice & quiet, good service. Food available...pillows need replacing. Had a very nice experience at this Holiday Inn Express South Wimbledon. Welcomed at reception, just about understood as everyone seems to speak so fast who works there :0) .....Room was clean, modern and comfortable. Very quiet place, slept well BUT please buy new pillows - This was the only let down, didn't spoil the stay as I was so knackered that i'd have slept anywhere. Had a meal there also in the evening which was a bonus. The lady who worked in the kitchen I must commend as she was very helpful and worked so hard to please everyone....thanks, hope that praise gets to you. Bar open all night but was quiet, didn't hear the bar from our room. Full range at breakfast. Would have liked to have seen an itemised bill at checkout but it all added up correctly so no worries. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ideal for wimbledon tennis Stayed one night after visiting Wimbledon. Staff helpful in arranging room for early arrival and arranging a taxi to Wimbledon. This is a good hotel to stay in if you are going to the tennis championships. The only problem was that the hotel meal service finished at 9pm, but staff pointed us to local facilities. A machine dispensing sandwiches/snacks would be a bonus.. July 8, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Place to Stay in London My experience at this Holiday Inn was excellent. The staff were friendly, patient and very accommodating. In fact they went out of their way to help us in any way they could. Our room was clean and comfortable. The proximity of this Hotel to the London Underground made access to downtown very easy. Also the proximity to a supermarket was convenient and a pub next door offered the opportunity to experience a quintessential English phenomena. Pub Food. I'm certain that when I return to London, I will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Collier Woods. For the price there is no other alternative that provided the value and facility to experience London in all its splendor. June 14, 2013

This was our second stay and we will definitely be back, It is just across the road from Colliers Wood tube station and there are frequent buses to Wimbledon and Kingston. The rooms are clean and comfortable,and a good breakfast is provided at no extra charge. I found the staff polite, helpful and efficient and we were able to leave our cases after we checked out. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Spoilt by the American Experience Now, I don't want to be mistaken, here. There is nothing wrong with this hotel; it's basic but very comfortable. But the 2 previous Holiday Inn stays were Chicago and Washington DC. In both hotels (also Expresses!) I was welcomed and thanked as a Platinum 'member', I was upgraded to a suite and treated like royalty by every member of staff I encountered. In the UK, I didn't even get free Wifi because that doesn't get introduced until June or July. In the USA I insist on Holiday Inn, in UK, it's just convenient to get more points on my account, because there seems to be no other incentive. May 28, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A little way to go yet room was new,clean,tidy - no problems no problems with bed - got a good night sleep no problems with customer service Two points to look into breakfast - juice and fruit were fine.beans were fine. no bacon - boo. What on earth do they do to the sausage? This is easily resolvable so HIE must try harder. By definition, business travellers MUST be online and we do not expect to have to pay. We demand FREE wi-fi (as provided by other hotel chains - and probably included in the price). This will make a significant problem to future bookings with HIE. May 24, 2013
