First off, the front desk man was supposed to enter my priority club info and did not. I had to wait a while when I checked out while he did it(after I asked again). When I inquired why we didn't get our bill under the door, he said, "oh well no one got around to doing it." Very unimpressive!!
The lady working the breakfast area did not at all keep up with replenishing the food. I had to ask for several things. And the trash cans were overflowing. I have been to many, many holiday inn expresses and this may have been my least favorite.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by taylorworlds Great room and service and a very comfortable bed
Our 1st time visit to Los Alamos and I think the Holiday Inn was the best hotel in town. We stayed in a 2 room suite with a fireplace; it was very nice and gave us plenty of room.
It had a full size refrigerator, sink, dishwasher, small microwave and a 2 burner stove top.
The Holiday Inn staff was great and there were several options for breakfast.
In room Wi-Fi and wired internet was especially great because I had to work the first day we arrived. The only thing I would change is the shower head, it just seemed a little plugged up.
If you are there to ski, Pajarito Mountain it is not far away.
You can order pizza right to your room, they have a speed dial button on the in-room phone. The kids loved the indoor pool and jacuzzi. Walking distance there is a CO-OP grocery store/deli that is kind of pricey but convenient with lots of specialty and organic items. Also you can walk to the New Mexican restaurant called De Colores, I ordered the Chicken Chimichanga and it was very good. Overall the hotel and location was great and our entire family enjoyed the visit.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MarthaMary Best Hotel in Los Alamos
My parents live in Los Alamos, so I visit often. My stay at the Holiday Inn was my best hotel experience in Los Alamos, ever. The rooms were clean, the food was good, but the staff was outstanding. Anything I needed was provided with a pleasant attitude in a prompt, friendly and professional manner. I can't say enough good about this stay.

The entire staff is outstanding! A special thanks to Manny, Agatha, Jim, Jessica, Brice, Persina, Julianna, Yolanda, and Melana (I hope I spelled them right). We stayed over a three month period while we relocated. They have comfortable and clean rooms. The staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. I broke my leg during my visit (not at the hotel) and they did all they could to assist me while I healed. This is the place to stay when visiting Los Alamos.

I love it when HIE opens a new hotel!!! The staff is excellent and super sweet 24/7. the breakfast experience is most excellent. many choices! Rooms very clean. No hair or fingerprints or ANYTHING. THANK YOU ALL STAFF!!!! I have cleaned four star hotel rooms for a living as a young gal and I know how much it takes to keep these rooms looking great. the only bummer is I really need a small fridge/freezer in my room so I can put my lunchbox in it for the next day. Again, Thank you for making my working-weekend stays so nice! Sincerely, Desiree , Travel Nurse

You need to review your breakfast server, he certainly is not customer service oriented. He did his job and that is it.
Ask for sugar free syrup for the pancake machine and you get a why would we have that (when 30% of the US is diabetic). So I asked the front desk and they said they would see what they could do. The next morning I get a surly remark from your breakfast guy there it is be sure to take it with you.
The same meal was server every day eggs (alternating from omelet to scrambled and back) bacon, one day sausage, with biscuits and creamed chip beef every day.
He is never out but has to be found each time someone wants something.
Pancake machine quits he pushes the batter down the bag and walks away. Al the person got was one small pancake and the machine again says out of mix.
Other asks for milk and he goes to get it and instead of just handing the guy one and then loading the fridge makes the guy wait until he has loaded the fridge and then the guy can get one.
Time for a new morning server. He takes away from the hotel experience.

I spent almost 2 mths with the LALM Holiday Inn Express team and was very pleased with my visit. They were very accomodating and took great care of my dog.
My only concern was in the way I was charged for my visits. I used a debit card and they authorized the stay amount but then when I checked out the night auditor didn't wait for that authorization to complete but charged me for my stay. So affectively I was billed twice and will have to wait until the pending authorization drops off which can take up to ten business days. This does not have to happen if the night auditor doesn't recharge for the room.
That said; I would and have recommended this hote.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by KP5280 Best option if visiting Los Alamos
If you want to be near Los Alamos, this is the best option. As a relatively new property, the hotel and its rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Bonus points for the very convenient coop market next door for groceries.
