Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality service and convenience I was in southern California on a week-long business trip and stayed at this hotel for only one night due to its close proximity to LAX and the need to fly out early the following morning. The gentleman working the front desk, Sterling, was extremely pleasant and attentive. Since two co-workers and I had the evening to venture out for dinner, Sterling gave us directions to Santa Monica without having to get on "the 405" and "the 10" during peak rush hour. I also inquired about dropping off my rental car later that night, so we wouldn't have to deal with it the following morning, and only have to use the hotel shuttle bus to the airport. Sterling said I could drop off the rental car anytime of the night...just call the hotel from the rental lot (just down the street) and he'd send the shuttle bus to come and pick me up. True to his word, a late night call and the shuttle picked me up within minutes and had me back at the hotel. Though this appears to be an older/mature property, it is clean and seems to be well maintained. The beds are comfortable and have several pillows to choose from to get the right firmness for a good night's sleep. The dining room had a large selection of breakfast foods, fruits, and beverages to start the day, and in my case head to the airport. In addition to Sterling, the several other hotel staff team members I encountered were polite, courteous, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. I will definitely stay at this hotel in the future, and highly recommend it for its quality service and convenience to LAX. February 23, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not coming back here. In California for 7 days. Stay at different H.E. Exp on about 3 holidays a year. On this trip we stayed at 3 different H.E. Exp. This is the first one, ever, that I will not go back to. Stayed with the family for 1 night before catching a early morning flight home. The double room was typical, clean, no hassles H.E. Exp. The beds however are quite small. We ask for a rollaway for 1 of our teenagers and were refused because it is management policy not to allow rollaway beds in double rooms. At 4:30 am I went down looking for coffee in the lobby. None there. Breakfast I was told starts at 6:30 am. When, I expect many of their guests have left. The 5:30 am Shuttle took us promptly to the airport but not before the driver gave a Japanese couple a hard time for eating a McDonalds breakfast sandwich on it. This is not a bad hotel but it is such a bare bones operation and not what I was expecting from H.E. Exp. Jim. February 20, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very accommodating! We arrived at the airport very late at night but the shuttle came promptly. Check in was quick, room very clean and comfortable. The next day we had a lovely breakfast and the shuttle dropped us off so we could catch a bus to go to Santa Monica beach. On our return, the driver offered to drop us off and pick us up at an area of a few stores so we could pick up a few things. There is a few restaurants right next to the hotel and we opted for a pizza to eat in the room. It was very good. We asked for a late checkout the next day as out flight to AU was not until evening. Again, the hotel was accommodating. After checking out we hung around the pool and lobby until we needed the shuttle to the airport. This is the perfect hotel to stay in if you are flying in and out of La. February 20, 2015
