I have frequently used this hotel in the past because of it's location and this time was pleased to finally arrive there after a hectic day's work. Upon arrival, I informed the desk clerk that I wanted to pay with another credit card, not the one in my profile and in order to speed up the check out, I settled my bill there and then. The following morning I went down, cleared my car from ice and advised a different desk clerk that I was leaving, that I had paid for my room the previous day, that the room could now be made up and asked was there anything else I needed to do before leaving. The answer was "no, all ok" so I left. Unfortunately the Hotel then proceeded to charge the credit card on file with the amount for the stay, regardless that I had already settled the account. I have reported the issue to the hotel and they have recognised the error but have yet to credit my card with the amount charged, I am concerned I will have to tell my credit card provider to cancel the payment. A nice hotel let down by staff ineptitude..... December 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, convenient, accessible Use this HIX three times a year between UK/Calais and Southern Italy. Always friendly and welcoming. The staff are always excellent, as they have been in the 5+ years we have been making this journey (prefer this to the main HI hotels). Very convenient for stop-sleep-continue. Lack of restaurant is not a problem as there is an excellent facility just next door where you can have a freshly cooked evening meal. Yes, the internet is weak/slow, but it's inclusive and it works to the extent that you need it either on holiday or for business contact (which I also do, even though my trips are all holiday). Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good service We staid in the hotel for 3 nights. The breakfast was rather poor and the same every day. Other than poor it was good: fresh bread, salami, cheese and yogurts, hot and soft drinks etc. The big problem was the mosquitoes in the room. And a nice girl from the the staff told us there is nothing to do it is nature. NO IT IS NOT. You suppose to deal with that problem. September 22, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Customer Service I would like to commend the friendly employees of the hotel during my stay together with my wife, from 29 Aug to 31 Aug 2013 : 1) The night duty customer service officer, Ms Lea who was very helpful and friendly. e.g. willing to look into our request for change of room. 2) The breakfast lady service : even though she was the only lady running the show in a crowded restaurant, she still tried to keep a friendly face. 3) The housekeeping lady at our room number 314. Besides the above good customer service, the hotel only rates on average (fair) level in terms of rooms, facilities, amenities and cleaniness. The wireless signal in the hotel was also very weak. During check-in, I was not recognized as IHG Gold Club Member. I arrived after 14:00, but the room was still not ready. The only reason to come back to the hotel was the competitive price, free parking and location of the hotel. September 15, 2013

Car is needed as this property is on the highway rest area. there is a horse stable next to the hotel so there was some smell when you step out side and also some mosquitos in room September 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel, nice surroundings as well We had a nice 1-night-stay at this hotel, on our way to Italy. Clean room, friendly staff. Bathroom is a bit basic but serves well. A big plus is the location: directly at the highway A2 and, surprisingly, with various possibilities to have a walk, very close to the hotel. When you leave the hotel, turn right and you will get to some beautiful houses/farms and a wooden signpost with directions to nearby villages. Cycling is also possible (and popular) as the landscape is relatively flat. Nice to stretch one's legs and grasp some fresh air after a long day in the car. August 22, 2013
