Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean Friendly but beds and TV need updates The location is great. Ask for a room on back side, away from train and Sunrise highway. Front desk staff is great. Plastic mattress pad and old televisions have to be replaced. I haven't slept on plastic since I was four years old. The neighborhood is great. Rockville Center restaurants are very good. Just four blocks away. Neighborhood morning runs are refreshing and peaceful. I stay here 30 days per year. But in winter time I move as there is no gym and the plastic mattress pads are intolerable. I decided to stay for the breakfast the following morning. This was a first for me. The food was really good, I was impressed, the pancakes were really good and so was the coffee. I also wanted to let you know how wonderful Louis is at the front desk, not sure if i spelled his name right. Anyway I just wanted to write to let you know how happy I was with my stay at your hotel. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by locked out of room for 6 hours first off, I am a frequent traveler for my job, staying in hotels about 10 months out of the year. This is my story. During the middle of the day, I went to get groceries, when I came back and attempted to get into my room, the lock on the door would not even recognize my key, ultimately finding out that the battery on the lock had died. That meant I could not get back into my room until an engineer could make his way to the hotel, which took approximately 6 hours. I sat in a different room and watched TV, continuously calling the front desk to get an update on the engineers whereabouts. They did very little to keep me updated. It was brutal. The hotel manager had no way of opening the door without having that battery working, Which in my opinion is absolutely absurd. The general manager did very little to accommodate my disappointment, never reaching out to me to resolve the issue. I typically only stay at IHG properties, and the breakfast is absolutely pitiful compared to other ihg's. I highly recommend not staying here unless you absolutely have to. Terrible hotel, terrible! I can certainly recommend this hotel to friends and family. Parking & breakfast is free which was a big plus for us! Will definitely stay here when we come back to NY in July. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by exceptional staff at the Holiday Inn Express, Lynbrook, LI, NY I have stayed at this location - on average - 2-3 nights a week for the past couple months because I have a consulting assignment in the area. One of the team members at the guest desk in the morning - Lisa - is fast, courteous and knowledgeable. She realizes that guests can be in a hurry in the morning and gauges her responses accordingly. She is a definite asset. One additional person, and I wish I knew her name, was an absolute gem last Monday evening when I checked in. I had a stomach virus and must have looked like a bag of old rumpled laundry. She took one look at me - quickly checked me in; then walked around the counter, picked up my luggage, took me to the elevator, went up to my room with me, put my luggage inside the room and wished me a good night. I must have told that story to everyone I saw the next day. I would guess that my retelling that story was more valuable than a million dollar advertising campaign. April 4, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay at Holiday Inn Express Lynbrook I grew up in Lynbrook and my wife and I came back to visit some old friends. We did not want to risk driving back to the city late at night after having a couple of drinks. Overall we had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Express Lynbrook. The staff was friendly and the rooms were spotless. The free breakfast in the morning was a nice touch - especially fresh bagels. If you are a light sleeper I would recommend asking for a room in the back of the hotel. March 8, 2014

We were pleasantly surprised on how updated, comfortable, clean, fresh, spacious rooms this property had to offer. The common areas were very well decorated. The staff was excellent from the time we checked in till the time we checked out. Our overall experience we are happy to say it was excellent! We would stay at a Holiday Inn Express again in the future and would highly recommend this property as well! January 15, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service and central location in Valley Stream Good hotel to base yourself out of if you're visiting the Valley Stream - Rockville Center neighborhoods in Long Island. We stay here regularly when visiting family for the holidays as my husband grew up around here. You will need a car but there is ample (and free) parking surrounding the hotel. We usually grab a suite since the rooms are a bit too small if you're camping out for a week like we do --- and its not that much more expensive for them plus you get almost twice the space. There's a coffee maker in the room with the requisite packets of java and tea, a fridge and cupboards that come in handy when you need to store snacks and extra sundries. The bathroom is on the small side but more than adequate with very good water pressure in the shower (which is a big deal for me). The towels are nicely thick, but the toiletries come in tiny plastic bottles that are never enough for a good clean (those plastic bottles are not ecologically-friendly either --- imagine all those tiny bottles cluttering up landfill for centuries). There's a CVS up the street where we stock up on all that we need instead. Internet service is a bit on the slow side and there is intermittent outages that are a minor annoyance. The king size bed is very, very comfortable. One thing to note is that if you're a light sleeper, get a room facing the back of the hotel as all the rooms looking out to Sunrise Highway gets the constant din of car and train traffic. It didn't bother us but I can see it irritating people who need peace and quiet at night. Staff is very friendly especially Jennifer and Mark at the Front Desk --- they made all the difference. The cleaning staff is very conscientious so we always came back to a room that was spotlessly clean and replenished. All in all, a very nice place to stay. January 4, 2014

The Managers are courteous and very accommodating...The Front Desk Crew is exceptional and House keeping is on top of their game. Everything in the room worked properly. Supplies were replenished in a timely fashion. Wake up calls were on time daily. The breakfast was well prepared and used fresh ingredients. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NOT A GREAT EXPERIENCE Arranged a late check in for our arrival. Arrived at the hotel around 8 pm. Staff was courteous at the front desk. Unfortunately the air in our room did not work. We phoned the desk downstairs who advised it just needed to be reset and they would send a hotel representative to our room. Unfortunately, he was unable to reset the air and we had to be relocated to a new room. The next morning we were woken by the sound of the fire alarm at 7:40 am in the morning and forced to grab what personal belongings we could and had to evacuate the hotel. * NO SHOWER * NO HOT BREAKFAST * And had to leave the hotel more than 3 hours prior to check out. * And no call back from the Hotel Manager after I complained about the incidents and requested monetary compensation.
