The room was good, staff was friendly and knowledgable about the area, it was an easy drive around the area. The only issue I had was the area is not he nicest, which the hotel has no control over.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chorch Overall good experience, but with some room for improvement
This was an uncommonly long stay (13 nights).
Overall, the experience was very good, up to the value one expects from a Holiday Inn hotel.
The room (suite) was spacious, the bed was comfortable (the pillows a little soft - even the "firm" pillows#, furniture practical and in good state, the kitchenette's equipment of a good size #particularly important in a long stay#.
However, there were a couple of details - all related to the personnel in the breakfast area, that could be improved with proper supervision.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by sacvisitor Breakfast staffs not very nice
Breakfast was supposed to be from 6am to 9:30AM. We got to the dinning room at 9:15am. One of the breakfast items was out. We asked one of the staffs if she could bring out more. She said she would check to see if they had more. A minute later she came back and told us that she was told that although they had more they stopped stocking additional breakfast items at 9:15AM. This was the most ridiculous policy we have seen. We have been in many other Holiday Inns and saw breakfast served way beyond 9:30AM. Staff will bring out more even at 9:30AM. If breakfast ends at 9:30AM food should be supplied until 9:30AM.
We asked the front desk if that was the policy of the hotel. The clerk said that is not the hotel policy and that he would inform the manager of such behavior. So far we have not heard anything from the hotel management.
Needless to say, we were OK with the front desk since they were very helpful but were very disappointed at the breakfast staff's "policy".

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BW98230 Very nice room.
My only complaint is the road noise and the fact that they forgot to turn down the outside lobby music until I called them around midnight. Other than that the entire staff was fantastic!!!!! The pool and the hot tub was great, there were restaurants within walking distance, but being that I am a female and was alone (business trip) I did not feel comfortable walking so I drove. The room was really nice! It was way more than what I expected! It had a fridge, micro, sink, dishes, couch, coffee table, desk table and the goodies in the room were awesome! There was even a bag of microwave popcorn! If I come back to the area I will stay here.

Although the neighborhood may have a few unsavory features, this place is very clean and well kept. The service is professional and efficient. We expected a lot from Holiday Inn, and we got it. My family and I recommend it.

We only stay there for one night that is why we would like to have something which is famous for its worldwide standard. We found this hotel because of its proximity to where we need to be. The room is quiet, good sound resistance, and to me, the bed is the most important thing in a hotel, I trust Holiday Inn for their worldwide standard and it did not disappoint me. Will stay here again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AlaskaSnowbird North Seattle Comfort
This is a comfortable, convenient option if you need to stay in the North Seattle area. The 24 hour available pool, fitness center, free wireless, adequate free parking and ample buffet type breakfast put this hotel a step above the other hotels in the area. One of the real strengths of this hotel is the excellent staff. EVERY employee in this hotel is well trained and truly goes above and beyond the call of duty. Gavin and Amber at the front desk made us welcome, checked us in and out efficiently, and even came up promptly to our room to address a problem with our t.v.! We had left a tip for the maid on the table after our first day, and she didn't touch it because we hadn't left a note indicating it was for her!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by bcheng Comfortable bed but Dirty Pillow Case
Overall the hotel is a nice place to stay, but on the first night we checked in, I found a strand of "curly" hair on my pillow, and there was this smell that makes it seem the pillow has been used already; not the type of smell you get from a clean bed. Thence, i have to use a clean towel to wrap around the pillow for two nights before I go to sleep. Aside from the pillow, there was also a few strand of hair on the bathtub and on the floor, quite a disappointment, actually. Perhaps this is what you expect for staying an Express hotel?

Coulda been a really nice place. Just some unsavory types hanging around the outside of the main door, talkin trash and smoking. Cough, cough, uh, cough.
The "hot" breakfast is really no good. It's amazing what some people will eat for free. Luckily there are some better places within a few minutes to get a good breakfast.
Otherwise, really like the place and may stay again if we ever go back.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by florida72 the best holiday express from staff to breakfast
i will not say this is one of the best but the best. from check-in to daily cleaning to the best breakfast buffet of any chain i have stayed at, bar none. the staff was great and very helpful. even though the weekend was full the staff for the breakfast buffet always had everything ready to put up when things ran out. only find i have is get rid of the stupid pancake machine, never works anyway. i am booking back in July for another pleasant stay. came up from Orlando, fl for a wedding and had not only a great time and food but the holiday inn stay just was the frosting on the cake.thank you the whole staff , thanks again d. booth

Over the past few weeks I have had the opportunity to stay at the Holiday Inn Express - Shoreline three different times for multiple days. Each time the staff was respectful, courteous, and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, quiet, and clean. Never did I have an issue that was not addressed expediently. Thank you for making my stay as close to the comforts of home as possible.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mike808 Exactly what we expect from HIE! Love it.
We really like HIEs, always well maintained, don't have to go out for breakfast, rooms made up in a timely manner, nice folks at the desk. The drawbacks we had weren't HIEs fault, nor did they really affect us, but... we had just checked out of another HIE down in Portland and got kind of tired of the same breakfast. What was there was good, but if we took a roadtrip, I'd hesitate to spend 3 weeks doing the same food in the a.m. In fact when we returned to Portland we checked into a competitor just to switch up the meal. No biggies though, the food is a bonus to us. The room price was competitive anyway.
The other thing we noticed is more of a HIE deal then ours, but both mornings in the breakfast area, there were 3-4 employees hanging around. Maybe one would replenish once in a while, but on the whole they were just standing around. Very polite, but seemed like way over staffing. On the second morning, there was no meat item and the tray stayed empty the hour we were down there.
Evening Cookies were great, as was the coffee available in the lobby. Additionally the front desk staff was very helpful in pointing out restaurant choices in the area.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Summer77 Clean Rooms Friendly Staff
Stayed at this hotel over Spring Break 2013. Brought my 14 year old daughter and her girlfriend. Gavin and Kevin were awesome. Kevin gave me details regarding location to downtown days before I traveled there from Idaho. He was on point with all that he told me. Gavin was friendly and personable. He even baked extra cookies to satisfy my whining teenagers that didn't get one because the people in front of us grabbed the last one. The continental breakfast was PACKED so be sure to get outta bed a little earlier if you want to get some. It runs from 7a.m.-10a.m. on the weekends and at 9:30a.m. they wouldn't make anymore gravy for the biiscuits? Kind of lame on that part seeing how there were so many people still waiting to eat and another 30 minutes of time. The pool could have been a little cleaner but the hot tub was nice. Overall it was a clean and comfortable stay, not far at all from the downtown pke place and all the fun stuff most folks travel to there to see. I would recommend the Lynnwood Bowl and Skate for bowling and skating on the late night if you have teenagers still itching to do something after 7p.m. The downtown Seattle area is mostly bars that they can't go to after a certain hour. There is also a place called Whirly ball nearby to check out. I will stay here again in the future and tell my friends about it as well.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by NCJ3 Great Hotel But needs Cleaned!!!
Nice Hotel and Great Ammenities but has an ANT problem!! It was gross! Our room had ants as well as the rest of the hotel so there was no point in asking for a different room!
On another note, the pool and hot tub were great and the complimentary breakfast was good! The staff seemed nice enough.

We stayed in a King efficiency suite which was very roomy and comfortable. The amenities provided were a pleasant surprise, from the popcorn provided for the microwave to the newspaper at the door each morning. The staff was very friendly, polite and welcoming. It was a most pleasant stay. The free breakfast offered many great items, though I would have liked a few more healthy, less sugary choices. Parking was sufficient and the lot was well-lit. The location made it necessary to have a car. In summary, definitely recommended.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by denalihiker2010 Great service
We stayed here while visiting Seattle for an appointment for my son at the Children's Hospital. It was about 20 minutes from the hospital. We always choose Holiday Inn Express when traveling because of affordability and comfort of this hotel chain. The previous evening we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Tacoma and had a HORRIBLE night. The hotel was in poor shape and staff did a bad job at taking care of problems. The hot tub and swimming pool were dirty and the bottom of the pool looked patched in a couple of places and the repair was coming off. There was a man sitting in the hot tub with a beer in hand and a half case of beer sitting on the table next to him. When I told the lady at the front desk she said "As long as it's not glass containers it's fine for him to have beer." We found this odd because the sign above the hot tub stated no alcoholic beverages. We left the pool early. Lastly, my family is VERY allergic to smelly fabric softeners and the night was spent miserably suffering with allergies and asthma because the linens reeked of it. We reluctantly called ahead to this Holiday Inn Express for the next night to ask if they use fabric softeners and they said yes they did but they would clean all the bedding and towels for us before we arrived and have our room ready for us. When we got there, the staff was very pleasant, and the room was perfect. We were so happy and enjoyed a great night's rest. This hotel renewed my satisfaction with Holiday Inn Express. They went above and beyond for my family and the property is clean and very comfortable. I would definately recommend this hotel and stay here again when traveling to Seattle. Stay away from the Holiday Inn Express in Tacoma!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by DrMikeinPDX The good and the bad
This is a well maintained property that is reasonably priced for the area. The only problem I had could be pretty serious for business travelers. The internet connection is very poor. I complained to a staff member and they said it was always like that. Apparently internet service is provided by a vendor and the staff has no control over it.
And in the minor annoyance category, the cable channel guide was not up to date and my two favorite cable channels, History and Discover were disabled even though they were listed. Did you guys forget to pay your cable bill?
Other than that, I'd say the place is very clean and the staff was friendly.

We were pleasantly surprised at how lovely your hotel presents itself. The recent re-model has made a world of difference and the new look is pleasing, clean and bright.
I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends and will stay there on our next visit to Seattle.
Located on Rt. 99 makes downtown Seattle quickly accessible.
