Very comfortable room, great service from front desk. Breakfast is typical HI-Express, which is not a reason I stay. Great location to Mackinaw City. Elevator was extremely slow, hallways very stuffy.

The Hotel staff were very well mannered and seemed very eager to provide assistance. Almost all were very cheerful and greeted us with a nice smile and great attitude. The breakfast staff were very friendly and efficient. The hotel was cleaner than other hotels that are in that area, I could definitely tell that they have been doing some upgrading and remodeling in recent years, that's a plus . I notice that in the area most of the big name Hotels do not keep up with repairs or upgrades on there Hotels and is becoming part of how we decide were we are going to stay. The smaller hotels/motels tend to put more into there hotels/motels as far as repairs and upkeep. I was very happy to see this location doing some remodeling and upgrades. Also the laundry baskets in the bathrooms for the dirty towels are a great touch. And no Black Mold!!!

Our stay was problem free. The hotel was well maintained and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The halls were a little stuffy and the internet wasn't super fast but we were vacationing!

Standard decent Holiday Inn Express. Everything was fine, except the room we had, or any rooms at the far east end of the building. They call this the "Bridge Holiday Inn" because it is just about built into the base of the I-75 South ramp off of Mighty Mack! The staff were friendly and tried to help, but they cant make I-75 go away. Ear plugs should come standard with any of the "End" rooms. We just wanted a place to stay one night to get a good night's sleep before going to the Island. Unfortunately, this time that was not delivered

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by unclejd Overall nice hotel
A very good hotel overall. Room was comfortable and clean. Bath roomy and well laid out. Breakfast less than impressive, even for the usual Express- Hotel fare. Only meat option was turkey sausage (didn't notice any takers). Eggs the usual tasteless mush. Pancake machine was on the blink-making pebbles. But if you stay at any Express hotel for the breakfast experience, shame on you. The room was very nice and provided a comfortable night's sleep. The major con was trying to locate a receptacle for the iron. Contrary to most Express Hotels we have used, there was no sensible location to plug in the iron and have the board in a reasonably lighted area. Finally had to put the board in the bathroom to be able to see to iron a shirt. Poor planning for whoever designed the room layout. Otherwise a very nice facility.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nmukev Great location, Needs updating
We've never stayed at this location, but are happy we did. It's close in proximity with downtown Mackinaw City without being too close to all the hustle and bustle. The fort underneath the bridge is within walking distance (3 minutes). Although the reception and front desk are meticulously clean and vibrant, the rooms leave something left to be desired -- the bathrooms specifically are in need of updated -- and even more specifically the shower and tub. Better vanity lights too, perhaps? Additionally, the pool area was unkept -- spider webs and cobwebs graced the entrances to the patio. The pipes above the pool and hot tub are rusting -- a great eyesore. Putting a little more money into this property and updating it would seem like the smart thing to do and justify the pricey room rates charged for this location. On the whole, we are pleased to have stayed here, but there are a lot of improvements that can be made. (oh, and no complimentary cookies like all the other locations?)
