Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Always a good stay This hotel is always a good stay for us. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and plentiful. The room was comfortable yet dated. The drapes would not close all the way and the showerhead needs replacing but over all it was clean and comfortable! Will stay here again. November 10, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cleanliness Architecture Breakfast and Staff I travel A LOT. First thing I do is check the bathroom and closet to be sure I'm alone. Next I look at how clean the room is by looking at the floors. If there is dust in the corners, lint or objects on the floor, I consider the room to be unclean; same thing if I find any hard surfaces with stickiness or residue. And, I pull back the bedding to check for specks, stains, etc. At the Madison hotel, there were long hairs in the tub and on the BR floor. It was questionable whether the towels were clean because they were quite wrinkled. I didn't report this to the staff, but I was also hyper-aware of the state of the tub, floor and towels on subsequent days. The tub wasn't cleaned, and the towels remained questionable, even tho I had deliberately left the ones I used on the floor - I couldn't tell if they had been replaced or just hung back up because they were so wrinkled. There were wads of hair/lint on the carpet in front of the TV on the first day as well, that were still there when I checked out - which to me, indicates that no vacuuming was done At other IHG properties, the insulated curtains have a clip to use to keep them together - at this hotel, I was constantly aware that I could potentially be seen thru the divide. The fridge, microwave and coffee machine were stacked on top of each other, and tho functional, this wasn't aesthetically pleasing - it made the room look/feel cheap. Architecturally, the hotel lobby was cramped, 'the business center' was more of a niche in the wall of one of the hallways, and I chose not to use it, though I actually needed to- and the layout of the hotel laundry behind the front desk should have included a door that if left open, guests would not be able to watch the staff folding sheets, etc. Breakfast choices were more limited than I'm used to - I would have liked to have had fresh fruit other than apples oranges and browning bananas. I would also have liked the option of hot chocolate, since I'm not a coffee drinker I think THE STAFF WAS WONDERFUL, and overall the experience was a mostly positive one. I fully intend to return to this property several times over the next 6 months or so for business. November 8, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Delightful Fall Weekend We used our Reward Nights to stay at this hotel while enjoying an anniversary getaway to Madison. The staff was great and the accommodations were perfect. The only negative I can find was that even though we had a Jacuzzi tub in our room we would have liked a spa in the pool area. Madison was a wonderful little town with many sights and good restaurants. We followed the Wine Trail and enjoyed each distinct winery. We also spent a day hiking in Cliffty Falls State Park. The fall scenery was perfect. October 28, 2014
