Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by CableCom Breakfast is still a huge issue
If you want a hot breakfast at Malvern, Ar. This is not the place to stay!!! Other restaurants in the area are very good. Overall, the hotel is a nice place to stay. But, Don't expect much in the morning in the breakfast area. Other Holiday Inn along the I-40 corridor are claiming to spend 1,000.00's of dollars on the breakfast each week.
We realize that the breakfast bar is a huge loss of revenue for many of IHG's properties. But this particular inn is very constant in providing an extremely poor breakfast. There were no eggs, sausage, & coffee was cold. This with 1-1/2 remaining of serve time. Folks with children, we witnessed, were forced to check out early and find food for their families elsewhere. This is the forth time in 12 months that we have stopped & had this problem with this particular property. Given the fact that most are independently owned & operated franchises, this is by far one of the finer places to stop except for the very poor lack of attention to the basics of the morning breakfast. Front desk staff at check-in were very nice and professional.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pejay427 Interesting stay.
First off, I have nothing bad to say about the stay here. We, (wife and I), checked into the hotel and were assigned a room. When in the room I went to use the toilet and it was totally loose from its mounts. I don't mean a wiggle, I mean not secured to the floor. I went to the desk and explained the situation. The clerk informed me that she had to call the manager to get permission to do a room change. She made the call and shortly there after we had another room. We packed up our stuff and moved down the hall. Upon entering the room I saw a pile of used towels on the ottoman. I placed them outside the door, went to our previous room and took those towels in place of the ones we didn't have. Toilet paper too. I told the lady at the desk what I had done so no one would think we had stolen their towels. The bed was comfy and we had a good nights sleep. The next morning on the way to checking out we were dragging our suitcases and bags to the elevator. Coming down the hall towards us was the room service guy pushing his cart. As he had me beat by a couple of steps he pushed his cart toward the elevator and pushed the button. As the door open and he pushed his cart on the elevator I figured we could have room. Nope, he pushed the button and looked at us as the doors closed. In the years that we have been traveling and the number of hotels we have stayed in, this was a first. My wife and I looked at each other and laughed. I mean usually they at least offer the elevator to the guest. Would we stay here again? Maybe. Wouldn't be my first choice. We stayed there once before in 2009 I think. The hotel hadn't been opened long. It is now a bit worse for wear and could do with a better job of cleaning and sprucing up.

Stopped here as a mid way stop between Dallas and Branson. The Garmin found the location with no problem. Many eating establishments surrounding the motel. Check in was a breeze and the room was just as we requested. We had two queen beds and they were very comfortable. Noise level was typical. You can hear people outside the room but I can tune out certain things. I did not hear the highway traffic like a previous reviewer but our room wasn't next to the highway.
Breakfast was the normal eggs, sausage, cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, yogurt, etc. The area was clean and was staffed.
The motel was just a short drive from Hot Springs which was a plus for us.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Phillip21 Average/ No Platinum upgrade.
My expectations were probably inflated. I often call my family when I'm away on business & describe the nice suite I got upgraded to, compliments of IHG Platinum recognition. Always fun, but sort of an extravagant "waste" when I'm by myself on business. This time, my family was with me, and we would have appreciated the extra elbow room of a suite. So at check in I asked for an upgrade. She apologized & said there were no suites available. Which wouldn't have bothered me much except that the IHG app was still showing suites available for booking, and none of them were even marked "only 1 left," etc. I checked again hours later to make sure it wasn't just a slow update ... still available. She didn't explain any local policy that only a certain # of rooms are available to upgrade, and she didn't even offer to upsell me. If I hadn't been spoiled so much by my other fantastic IHG experiences, I probably wouldn't have been bothered, and wouldn't have noticed the 2 rings torn out of the shower curtain, or how thin the towels are compared to the other IHG places I've stayed. If I'm honest, it was a decent stay & the lady at breakfast was really nice. But you have really nice IHG partners an hour each direction that are great at pampering their guests.

It's very clean and quite, even though it is next to the highway. The several restaurants are near the hotel, and it's convenient for meals.
