What I expect from a Business hotel for a night or two. Clean, quiet and decent. Stricly a budget hotel so my expectations were not too high.
Smoking Floors do stink like an ashtray in the corridors though. First thing you notice, but as a smoker it didnt matter that greatly

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Silent Traveller A no nonsense hotel, good old Express standard
A standard no nonsense hotel, does what it says on the tin. Useful for business travellers short of time but for luxury minded travellers/tourists, it's better to head elsewhere. Breakfast, I got to say was very good. Staff were courteous. However, bathroom is basic without a bathtub, just a shower cubicle but then again I suspect that's normal as the hotel says it is just an express hotel that comes with the assurances of a global brand. Also the wifi internet is free (a big plus compare to other hotels) yet the speed is very slow. May be better off to purchase a local prepay 4G LTE Batelco sim with data service and use it for browsing. Location is very good with shops and restaurants nearby incl ones on Exhibition Road, plenty of cheap food outlets with different Arabian/Indian/Pakistani and Iranian is around. Taxis are standby which is a plus, however the taxi drivers usually seems to overcharge/or blatantly asks for extra tips as much as upto 20-25% on top of the usual fares which can add up and prove costly. Also avoid taxis arranged or flagged down by the hotel doorman/concierge as taxis arranged by them don't seem to follow the state law of charging passengers by the meter as I experienced as I was made to go on a taxi at a fixed rate without running the meter despite my insistence on using the meter but was told that taxis arranged by hotel don't need to use a meter. My piece of advice for using taxi is it is best to walk out of the hotel without arranging it through reception/concierge and speak to the taxis directly or walk a bit further down to self arrange the taxi which there are plenty around.
