Stayed here for one night while attending a concert at the MEN Arena.
Room was great, staff were pleasant and helpful, food and drink was great and above all was reasonably priced.
Location is perfect for shopping and for the MEN Arena, 5 minutes walk away.
Would definately stay here again!

Stayed here overnight as we went to the MEN Arena, excellent location for this and for everything Manchester as to offer.
Friendly staff, great room and value for money a definite must if travelling to Manchester.Will be back for sure.

We booked this hotel as we were going to a gig at the arena. It was a bargain price so we weren't expecting too much.
The staff were friendly and welcoming when we checked in, it was quite busy but we were dealt with very quickly..
The room was spacious, nice decor and spotlessly clean. Lovely bathroom with huge powerful shower. Everything we needed, desk, mirror, hairdryer, hanging space, TV, plenty of electric sockets.
We had a drink in the bar before heading out, fast and friendly service.
We had a great nights sleep, the beds were so comfortable it was an effort to get up.
Breakfast was complementary so again, we didn't expect much...wrong again! Good selection of cereals, hot drinks and juices, cooked choices were sausage, scrambled eggs, toast and beans. Also a selection of continental pastries. You couldn't expect more for a freebie! (although some were moaning about the lack of bacon...humbugs).
We would definitely book here again if we're in Manchester and will recommend to friends and family. Didn't seem like a budget option at all.

First time here and my room was massive. Spotlessly clean and bed was so comfy. Really quiet area considering where you actually are. Also parking was fine, there's a Total right opposite the Crowne Plaza.
Downside was that as a priority member I wasn't informed I could've had a late checkout :( Would've saved me lots of rushing around in the morning.

Stayed for event in the Arena - Perfect location - 5 min walk from Printworks, which has any kind of food/drink you could want, then another couple of minutes from the Arena. Would def stay again.

Stopped there for the Pink Concert at the MEN on the 14/04/13. Perfect location. The room was lovely and clean the staff were all very friendly especially young Chris who showed us to the car park in his own time :)
Will be going back there when we are 'gigging' again or even when my girlfriend wants to go for a day shopping in Manchester

Having asked for a quiet room, we were given room 611 on the 6th floor, only to discover that room 613 next door was the meeting point/ pre-loading venue for a group of young people staying at the hotel. Having wanted an early night we were kept awake until after 11 pm by a succession of people knocking on the door of 613, but fortunately the noise then ceased.
In the morning we noticed that the shower drain was partially blocked, so that the water in the shower tray was soon several cm deep when we used it.
At breakfast one of the juice machines was not working and looked dirty, and one of the tea/coffee machines did not work. There was then a partial power failure so that none of the machines or toasters were working, although the staff soon fixed the problem.
Had to stay in Manchester to get an early morning train the next day, and chose this hotel after good experiences at HEXs in Newcastle and London, but this one fell some way short of their standards.

I was at this hotel a couple of months ago. Still the same excellent service. Great hotel. Great staff. Maybe there wasn't any bacon at breakfast but it isn't the end of the world. Nice food. Yes I will return to this hotel without question

We had an overnight stay whilst visiting the MEN. We had a very quick check in by a friendly guy. The hotel was clean throughout with a modern feel. We had a nice room on the 4th floor, great shower and no noise or disturbance at all. The hotel location was very convenient for shopping and the MEN. Breakfast delivered what it said it would and was plentiful and enjoyable. We had a lovely stay, nothing negative to say at all. Would recommend a stay in this hotel.

Had a double all to myself .... nice and very big shower, choice of pillows (firm or soft)... a joy for city centre at the price.
Great location in the Northern Quarter, well positioned for the Arena, restaurants, shopping etc.
Breakfast functional and limited but happened to include my favourite treat (scrambled eggs and beans, on toast) so all was well !
I will certainly use it next time I need to stop over.

We were going to the Manchester Arena and decided to stay overnight at the Holiday Inn Express. What a great hotel. Everything was spot on! Helpful staff, speedy check in, clean spacious room with a 5* bathroom and a wonderfully comfortable bed.
A great night's sleep with only one regret - we weren't staying a second night.
Will certainly stay again when visiting Manchester.

Very good location, close to MEN but a lovely and quiet corner
Excellent staff and really clean, brilliant large shower, we were on 6th floor so great views over city. Would certainly stay again when going to event at MEN.

My overall stay of the hotel was very good. Excellent location to amenities in city centre and staff very helpfull for directions etc. One point though which is, when arriving in my car I missed the hotel on the left off swan street and turned left at the traffic lights which led me off past the hotel and i had to turn around which took me another 10 minutes to get back to swan street. If you could put a large sign up for the hotel name on the corner of swan street before turning left at the traffic lights this may minimise people turning left at the lights as i did, which means you cannot access the hotel in your car from here but you can park brifely on the small access road just off swan street next to the hotel with your baggage etc. Which would help then you can drive your car to the euro car park from here as well which is just around the other turn right at the traffic lights street.

We enjoyed our stay, the room had a comfortable bed, with a great view over the city lights. The shower was good, and staff all helpful and friendly. It was easy to book a room with the priority club app. We will definitely be back!

Good hotel, we enjoyed it very much, good value for money. Next to the city center, I wish we could spend all our stay in Machester there. We moved to another Holiday Inn in Machester which was further, away from the centre, the breakfast, although being more or less the same, tasted much worse,
we really recommed it.

Fantastic modern hotel, would definitely stay again. The rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious, with walk in shower room. The shower was powerful, decor exquisite.
A complimentary breakfast is offered, I just cannot fault this hotel at all. The Holiday Inn Express meets all expectations and more, in addition it is also within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the Arndale Shopping Center.
The staff were both courteous and polite, the crisp clean uniforms were an added bonus to the cleanliness of this hotel. Customers were greeted with a pleasant smile which was most welcoming.
To all customers looking for a high quality hotel at a reasonable price - book your stay with the Holiday Inn Express.

......... A warm and friendly greeting on arrival. Room most comfortable and clean. Ideal location for the city centre and the MEN Arena. Discount at the neighbouring Crown Plazza.
Breakfast food was good - only problem being that the servery was too small to cope with the number of guests. However, this would not deter me from staying again or recommending to my family/friends!!

Stayed here for three nights with my mates and we all enjoyed it very much! If I ever come back to Manchester (wich I really love to), I would definitely stay at Holiday In Express MEN Arena again! The view is absolutely awesome!!

Spent one night at this hotel during brief visit to family.Excellent in just about every way.Very welcoming and accommodating staff;for example, no problem to leave bags at reception for the morning before catching train.Room very comfortable indeed with wonderful walk in shower.Breakfast,considering it was free,of good quality;only slight criticism was that coffee did not taste good! Perhaps I should have had tea! Thoroughly recommend and hope to return.

Stayed one night to see a show at the MEN. Had one of the best nights sleep I had in ages. Beds were very comfortable and probably due to the black out curtains, I never woke up untill half 8 in the morning!! No evening meal resteraunt, but plenty of places close by. Took about 5 minutes to walk to the Arena. Its also close to the Arndale centre for shopping next day. About 6 or 7 minutes in taxi from Piccadilly train station. Breakfast was fine and is complimentory. I would reccomend this hotel.

this hotel ticked all the boxes for us, the staff are very good especially the lady on reception/bar around 11pm on the 14/03 she was very pleasant and nothing was to much trouble, the breakfast was good it's self service but the was a selection of hot and cold food

Although i live within 30 miles i decided an overnigth stay would be warrented to enjoy the day to the full. We had an early check in as we were going to the Lion King at the Palace theatre for the matinee session. 30 min nice strole through Manchester and we was there.
The staff were friendly and the rooms warm and to a high standard. The breakfast in the morning had all you would want to eat. a good choice.
What impressed me the most before i even booked the hotel was the staff read and comment on any bad reviews with a view to correcting the situation.
I must say the price for parking the car on a NCP car park for 24 hrs was very cheep at £4.80. And in the middle of Manchester.
Well done all for making my weekend comfortable

Once I got the hang of the location, it was remarkably easy to get around - turn right, walk straight on and you're at the Arndale Centre within 5 minutes. (turn right if looking for Marks and Spencer) and bit further on Piccadilly Gardens and Tram interchange. .
Turn right then right across the square then straight on and there is Shude Hill Metro Interchange and bus station, then further down to Victoria Station.

I was really impressed with this hotel, great location Arndale just down the road also if travelling by train it`s just a short walk from Victoria station..Rooms were a decent size its ideal for a short stay. There is a small bar and a good size sitting area were breakfast is served, although they don`t have a restaurant, that wasn`t an issue as there are loads of restaurants nearby .Over all a great hotel
