Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay as Always! Stayed here a few years ago for New Years Eve. We enjoyed our stay just as much this time as our previous visit! The staff is helpful, understanding, and very friendly. The kids loved breakfast which made life easy. My only complaint is that the hot tub is more of a "warm" tub. Can't wait to come back and play! Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Outdated and musty. This hotel is outdated and dirty. I have stayed in a lot of Holiday Inns and this one by far did not meet my expectations. It is outdated, the carpet was stained in the hallways and in my room. The hallway smelt musky. The bathroom shower needed to be resealed. Lastly, they need a new Internet provider. The whole 2 days I was there it took on average 45 minutes to get online and then it would kick me off. Told the front desk the 2nd day and it still didn't change. If in town again I would not choose this hotel. November 18, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Easy in and out, excellent service, spotty quality It is usually a good place to stay. The staff is very friendly. It is showing some age. The beds are aging. The quality and freshness of the food is poor. The eggs were just nasty, the cinnamon rolls were stale (or old). the meats did not look appetizing at all so I did not try them . The bagels were low quality and tasteless. This chain usually does better on the food and quality is appreciated when you are away from home. This stay was the first time I ever encountered toilet paper that falls apart in your hand while trying to use it. The strangest thing Ive ever seen - why would this useless stuff even be made? Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Problems 1st room had a small ceiling leak in the bathroom. The 3rd night was upgraded to Junior Suite but the vending ice machines located next to the wall kept waking us up. The manager must have known this issue as I am sure others have complained about it. Good gesture to upgrade us, but was it done intentionally? Hope not. The dining room was clean and the food like any other continental breakfast allowing the choice of being real healthy or have a heart attack. The Jacuzzi had a black mold buildup along the edges. (I forgot to tell the staff) Otherwise, like any other HI Express, a good valued place to stay. Just had some problems on this trip. November 14, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Average The hotel is your average Holiday Inn Express. The rooms were modern and comfortable. Our only negative was the cleanliness of the room. The sheets on the bed were not changed from the previous guest. We had to ask for new sheets so we can change it ourselves. Also the plumbing was loud. It woke me up at 5am when our neighbor above us taking a shower. Generally the hotel is ok, but room cleanliness is paramount to a relaxing and enjoyable stay. If they are skipping changing the sheets, what else are they skipping? Just a thought. November 14, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Everything Was great...until like i mentioned in previous comments, I loved the Hotel. the guy that checked me in was very Polite and Professional. My Fiancee and i loved the room, he enjoyed the Breakfast...we are both workaholics, and finally took a couple days off to visit family and just relax. we had to check out Sunday, but it seemed like a problem asking for a later check out. the lady told me 1pm, which was ok, but i asked if i can get either 3pm or 4pm and charge me a half day rate, she said no. the system will automatically charge me a whole day rate. which was kind of odd. this was around 10ish am...we went back to the room, and took a power nap, figured to pack everything and get ready to check out. i woke up to get some ice, ran into Housekeeping in hallway and asked what time i was going to check out, it was already 10 past 1pm, so i tolde her i was just going to extend. my fiancee was too comfortable, and we figured might as well go out to the wharf for some clam chowder and hang out with the family for a little bit before hitting the road. to my surprise i saw 3 different authorizations on my card, and called on tuesday the 4th and was told i was charged for 3 nights, and that i did not want to check out at 1 but 4pm and was charged for that...just a whole mess and nothing made sense to me. what stood out to me was that the lady that helped me, made a mistake and instead of admitting it, she tells me some thing about the system not reading the manual input and was charged automatically. and i asked the day before why was my card authorized for 3 different amounts one of which was for $74.04 and was told it was for the late check out. so this whole thing with the late check out, was a hot mess and was charged for extra nights...made no sense to me. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Used to be great, not this time I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Marina many times and every time it has been lovely except this time. We hadn't been there in about 2 years and the property has greatly declined. Without going into detail I will just say the whole property showed much wear and was extremely dirty. In the past it had been very nicely maintained. I would not recommend it in the condition it is currently in. October 16, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by FREE WIFI! What free WiFi! I have been staying at Marina HIExpress for years, never had any problems with the WiFi and the last 2 times I stayed there the WiFi was not even available the signal was so poor. I chalked it up to the room location but was back the next week and it was worse with a room in the middle of the complex on the 3rd floor. I checked out 2 days early and said I'll never be back if they don’t fix the problem. I will call before I make any new reservations. The last night I was there they were going to have their tech support call me so I waited about 20 minutes, then left to get dinner, and when I returned they said that he called me but there was no one there to answer. The problem was not with my laptop, but they wanted me to waste my time to fix the hotels problem. My co-worker had the same problem, but he did not complain like I did. Hope they make an adjustment soon. I would have asked for my money back but it was company business and did not want to fight about no free WiFi as advertised. October 10, 2014

Service has always been wonderful at this hotel every time I have stayed. They switched my room within 20 minutes the last time I had issues with the cable in my room. Comfortable and clean with a decent breakfast with a lot of choices. They also have warm chocolate chip cookies upon check in if you get there early enough. September 30, 2014

The night desk clerk, I'm sorry I did not get his name, is top notch - helpful, polite, knowlegable, a credit to his craft. The wifi was a little quirky - but not a real problem. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Check your room before you leave, no one calls you back Overall the stay here was fine,. The staff I meet face to face was top notch. However, we remembered we left some children's clothes in the room and when I called back is when our stay there soured. No one could check lost and found, no one called us back when they said they would. Finally my wife was told no one found the clothes. Well that means two things. One the clothes were found and walked out the back door. Or, two the room was not cleaned very well and therefor the clothes were not found or found and not reported properly. I gave this hotel one star for the complete lack of customer service when we called about the lost clothes. The "not finding" of housekeeping staff I took with a grain of salt. September 5, 2014
