Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service and Friendly Service Coral was great in helping me with my room. Upon entering the Hotel she was so friendly, had a very warm greeting for all the guest. She truly made us feel like part of the family. The maintenance man was also very friendly and courteous to the guest.. Letting us know if we needed anything we could let him know. The only downfall was that the bathroom could have been cleaned a little better, and the mirror in our room was streaked. We did however enjoy ourselves and our stay. We want to thank Coral for all her help and kindness. August 2, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A visit with our grandchildren and Great's Very accommodating staff. My grandchildren and two little Great grandchildren came to the motel to visit. We had pizza in the dinning room after hours and also used the pool. We all had a good time. Thank you for allowing them to be included in our stay. We live 4 hours away and see them seldom. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor start, better ending, overall just average This facility is in the process of renovation/redecorating so that may account for stained carpeting, loose arms on desk chair and inoperable wall outlet [which were not attended during our four day stay] but I doubt it. Did not receive particularly welcoming greeting upon arrival. However, attitudes improved throughout our stay. Dining room staff were excellent and attentive.Would have no problem recommending this establishment but will not stay there upon returning to Michigan. July 26, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by overnight stay I had never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and this was a great surprise. I checked in late at night after a long day. The staff that checked us in was very good. In the morning the checkout was great. Breakfast was good. I would stay here again if I was in the area. July 11, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super friendly front desk clerk and an excellent breakfast! Upon check in, the front desk clerk was so bubbly and friendly. She had a big smile and took the time to ask why we were there (wedding, etc...). She was very knowledgeable about the Marshall area. I had stayed here before years ago but it hadn't changed, nor did the town itself. Our room did have a noisy a/c unit but the next morning I notified the front desk and that gentleman immediately wrote out a service ticket. The a/c didn't bother us but I didn't want it to bother the next people. The only downside was that the pool was far too chilly for me to enjoy. Otherwise, it was a perfect choice and a perfect night's stay. Breakfast was excellent and there was plenty to choose from. I think you have awesome staff at your hotel and I hope you share this with them. Would definitely recommend and hope to see you all again sometime! June 22, 2014

At the check in, we told the desk clerk we want a quite room, and he really went out of his way to make sure we had one. The girl who handles the free breakfast was wonderful. She made sure what everyone had what they wanted and that everything was fresh. A great personality, and made us all feel welcome. The whole staff did. May 29, 2014

My phone wasn't charging and I had a very early start planned. He helped me look for another charger, locate a Sprint store, and get mapquest stuff printed all before 6 am. March 11, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Probably won't be back Not very happy with this property. Pulled off the road and walked in at 11:30 on a Friday night, not many cars in the lot. Presented my IHG Platinum card, asked for a N/S King, and almost fell over when I got the folio with the rate. Asked why, received an explanation that they have a lot of local road construction customers, so they can get that rate. Front desk guy noticed that he charged me a "Valentines Day" package rate (I was by myself), so he lowered the rate, a little. Still, too much for the location and circumstance. Rooms still have the old nightstand lights, no place to plug-in a CPAP machine or cell phone charger. Breakfast was advertised at starting at 6:30am, nothing hot was out at that time, so I left and had breakfast elsewhere. Too many other locations to choose from, won't stop at this one again. Only strong downside is that the tv stations are horrible, the provider they contract with makes it so changing the channel is a game of chance at best. 41-57 is not a typical way to switch to the morning news. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant stay Upon arrival I was recognized as an IHG Rewards Club member & asked to spin the wheel for my prize. The room was clean & comfortable with ample work space. No problems connecting to the in room wifi. It was a bit slow but not unuseable. The bed was comfortable with a variety of pillow choices. Although I had a room facing the freeway, the traffic noise was minimal. Breakfast choices were good with cereal, fruit, eggs, bacon, muffins, and cinnamon rolls. Didn't have time to use the pool or workout room. I would stay here again should the opportunity arise. It was an overall pleasant experience. October 9, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Showing it's age I have stayed at this HI Express frequently over the past 15 years on business and to visit friends in the area. I'll most likely move to the Hampton if in the area again. The room smelled musty and even after running the air for a few hours the smell remained all through the night. The pillows were horrible, no support at all. I thought about calling down about 2:00 am for additional/better pillows, but my experience has been the front desk is usually minimally staffed. Ended up using a folded towel under the pillows. I want to like this property for it's convenience when I'm in Marshall and I'm usually an HI Express fan, but I'm tired of this tired hotel.
