The employees there were very professional and friendly. The hotel was new and clean. It had a very warm and inviting feeling to it. The guest room was very neat and clean and the air smelled clean. We had just come from a different hotel, and the air smelled like smoke and we could hear noises all through the day and night. It was a very refreshing change to walk into your hotel. We had a nice view of a green front from our window, and we slept soundly. We had soft and firm pillows and alot of them, which was great, since we sleep with alot of pillows.

Overall it was a great hotel and I was able to relax after work. When I have to go back to Bloomington again I will be asking my manager to stay at this hotel again.

3 dirty socks found in my suite upon arrival. Very gross and makes me wonder if the room was actually cleaned, vacuumed.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jim4477 In need of maintenance
In need of maintenance. Air conditioning in one room did not work. Moved to another room and lock on door did not work. Card access on exterior was never working so you had to use main entrance. Clean room, when they had you on books to be cleaned. Went an entire weekend without room being cleaned. Front desk usually had a sign on it with no one to greet you. Staff gather at main entrance to smoke. Very unprofessional group. In desperate need of management to put this place together.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kate95 Large, Comfortable, Clean Suite, Friendly helpful staff
Large, clean, well appointed suite. Check in quick, staff friendly and willing to assist, give directions, info etc. The only problem we had was smoking area outside lobby doors. Not only having to pass through the area to access lobby but our room was above the area and the a/c brought some of the smoke faintly into the room. Fortunately the smokers seemed to leave at night which was when we were mostly in the room. We did not take the time to mention to the staff so they did not have a chance to address the issue.

We selected this Holiday Inn Express as we relocate to the Indianapolis area. It is one of only a couple hotels in the area that fit all of our requirements - government rate, pool, accepts pets, and comfortable enough for a long term stay. The staff - front desk, maintenance, breakfast area, housekeeping, management - are all very friendly and provide top notch service.
The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The bed's comfort easily exceeds that of competitors. The microwave and small fridge in the room is very convenient. I'd stay here again before any of the "extended stay" hotels.
The internet service provided is pretty decent. Wired and wireless are available. The speed provided is about 3Mbps, which, again, exceeds that of competitors who usually provide only around 1Mbps without incurring additional costs.
The breakfast has a good variety: everything you'd have at home and then some. The automated pancake machine is pretty cool and makes good pancakes. The staff is great. When it's pretty busy sometimes they come around with a thermos to offer to top off your coffee, which is a nice touch.
Overall, we'd make this our first pick again if we had to do it over. Martinsville itself has a pretty decent variety of restaurants and fast food - the Mexican place downtown on the square is our favorite... also, Martinsville is conveniently located between Indianapolis and Bloomington with an easy commute to either.
