I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Maryville for one night for business in early February. The hotel is right off the exit next to the Applebee’s. It is a few miles from town where there are more places to eat. Check in was smooth and I had booked my reservation online at the Hotel website. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. You can tell the hotel has gone through some renovation and my room had been updated. (Room 212) Everything was clean and worked, but little things like the wall colors bleeding onto the ceiling detract from the impression. I also had very loud water hammering when I tried to start the shower the first few times. The rooms on both sides of me thought I was banging on the wall and needed help, this will need attention.
My room was on the second floor on the backside of the hotel, but the only view is of the wall of a building that is pretty close to the hotel. The good news is you could open the window a little bit. This room is a mini-suite. The first thing you will notice is the light just inside the door is pretty dim and the rest of the lights are in odd places. It seemed like I always wanted it to be brighter for whatever I was doing. There is a separate bedroom that has a King size bed that was very comfortable with lots of pillows. The pillows were too thick for my taste. The bedroom has its own TV, dresser, two end tables with reading lamps, phone and alarm clock. I wish there was an easier place to plug in my phone near the end tables.
The living room area has a TV, a couch with a fold out bed, a reading chair, end tables with lamps, a coffee table, and writing desk with a phone. The free Wi-Fi worked great. Across from the bathroom there is a closet with an iron and board, hangers and extra blankets. Next to it is a little kitchenette that has a sink, microwave, coffee maker with coffee, refrigerator. They also supplied paper towels, some cups and a few sets of plastic silverware. Other amenities included: Shampoo, soap, conditioner, lotion, hair dryer, ice bucket
There was free breakfast
that was just ok. There was coffee, tea, juices, yogurt, bagels, pastries, cereals, eggs, sausage, and biscuits and gravy. The hot stuff did not taste that good but the cinnamon buns were excellent…make sure you try one if you stay.
My bill was under my door and I just dropped off the keys on the way out. Even with the few disappointments I would stay at this hotel again if it was the closest to where I needed to be.

I visited the Holiday Inn Express, to attend my nieces graduation. I was very pleased with the staff, as well as the accommodations. The room was well kept, and supplied all of my needs and comforts. I was impressed with the staff who greeted me and my family with a very personable touch. The staff who assisted us during breakfast was exceptional. I would highly recommend this hotel.

My only compliant is that the mattress in room 223 furthest from the window needs to be replaced. It is worn and was not comfortable. The other bed's mattress was in much better shape.
The breakfast and cleanliness of this hotel is great. I stay here at least once a year when visiting family.

Very friendly staff and as always a great stay. My choice for business and personal travel. Always comfortable and in a safe environment. I travel alone most of the time and location is important to me. Security is a main consideration and I always feel safe at Holiday Inn Express.
