Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place with poor service. This is a nice hotel that's poorly run. I've stayed many times there's always been so-so service. This time there were no wash cloths in the room and none were sent up when asked for at the front desk. There airport shuttle service makes you wait 20 -30 minutes for pickup EVERYTIME. The hotel is 5 minutes away. I call and they always say they'll be there in 5 10 minutes. Never happens. I've waited as much as 1 hour for pickup once. The air conditioner in the room sounded like a freight train. I had to run it because it was 80 outside at night. Otherwise its great. The rooms are usually clean. The breakfast is the standard Holiday Inn fare but they have almost all the items out every morning (omelets, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, etc. all out every day). July 26, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great facility This hotel prides itself with a maintaining a great appearance and excellent customer service. The staff goes out of their way to make sure they attempt accommidate your needs. I have stayed here several times in the past couple of years, probably once a month for a duration of a week at a time. The parking lot is secure with a guard at night, and the rooms are excellent quality. Probably the only complaint I could come up with is that the beds are a little uncomfortable. July 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Value for the Money I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at McAllen (Airport/La Plaza Mall) for 5 days starting 4/14/14. Very neat & clean, comfortable bed, great on all services, good swimming pool (I saw kids having a blast, I wish I could join them) and good breakfast. The hotel van not only gives airport service, but anywhere around nearby, whether you want to shop, dine or visit some place. Front Desk is very helpful. I definitely will stay there, whenever I visit McAllen. July 22, 2014

First off I would like to thank the staff at the front desk, house keeping, maintenance personal and Brenda the hotel manager for making my experience at the Holiday Inn a great one. Spent a month and a half here and everyone went out of their way to make it a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The rooms were clean, pool was heated indoor and out door. The breakfast was really good and complimentary. Most important was all the staff was great and accommodating. Highly recommend the hotel if you are ever in McAllen or surrounding area. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Bang for the Buck! This particular Holiday Inn Express was very clean, in a great location, and very reasonably priced. I have already recommended it to many of my colleagues. The King Bed-Suite was very reasonably priced and very comfortable. I slept like a rock and I loved the automatic pancake maker in the breakfast room. The selection of breakfast items was very generous, good and included in the price. Coffee could be a bit stronger but I have had far worse at much more expensive hotels. My only recommendation is to add a much stronger coffee brew to the selection and don't be shy with the amount of coffee grinds used in the filter. July 19, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Appearance and location The hotel is located near great eateries. Although I didnt use it, the indoor/outdoor pool was something unexpected for an Express. The rooms were ok and furniture was somewhat dated. The check-in was nearly disastrous. I believe I was charged for my room prior to knowing my room number. June 29, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mediocre property This the second time this property put me in a smoking room. At first they said they couldn't change it, but gave me another room. However, this one did not have the frige and microwave I paid for, but they are charging me the same rate. Additionally, the room smelled like there was a smoking room next to it. Internet is spotty at best and the english language stations are limited. Stay at the one in Pharr. It's much better. June 25, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Idioma Español / Inglres || RECEPCION Buen servicio, rapido, lo unico que yo recomendario es que al estar este hotel en una zoan cerca a la frontera con Mexico, es claro que muchos de sus huespedes hablan español y NO ingles, creo que si ustedes en la recepcion al identificar a una persona que NO entiende inglesm deberian de hablar español y no esperar a que se sienta mal el cliente o trate de contestar algo que no entiende. Espero que mi comentario se entienda, ya que durante mi registro sucuedio esto, y el cliente me pidio apoyo en traeduccion, y fue cuando la persona del registro empezo a Hablar español, dando igual buen servicio. En mi punto de vista este es un tema de respeto y sercicio al cliente y creo que se puede aprovechar mucho el que su personal sea bilingue. Saludos Alfonso R. June 16, 2014
