I had a bad experience with the use of my bank cards to pay for this hotel. When I did my chek-in for 6 nights, I asked if it was Ok to use my debit card to check in and pay later in cash or with another card, and the reception desk person said it was no problem. At the end of my stay I used another bank card for payment and they returned my check-in voucher (normal procedure). However, 10 days later my bank account was charged for the entire stay again. Got little help from the hotel staff to clear the issue and it took me over one month and a half to solve the dispute.
Additionally, in one of the rooms we used, the bed sheets got stained by accident, and during the room clean up they were not changed by the maid. When we arrived at night and called to report the incident, they only gave us sheets but nobody helped change the bed.
I have been a member of HI Priority Club for many years, it is sad to have a problem like this with one of the properties. I will think twice before booking another HI hotel. They have lost the high quality service they used to have.

Waited in line just to be ignored by staff. Other customers who arrived much later than I were immediately tended to. When I politely notified the staff of the situation, I was cut off in mid sentence and asked "what do you need"? Horrible service. These people need to be retrained. When I eventually checked in one elevator was broken and I was placed on a top floor. When I woke in the morning, both were broken ;(

Ice machine on floor has been out for weeks, one elevator down, had to move from a room where the air conditioner fan starts and stops all night long
Also lost my jacket in the room I moved out of. It was either taken by the staff or by a guest
Will probably stay at a different hotel next month

Stayed here twice while on business in the area. Great location as it was close to airport. Room was good, staff friendly and such, my only negative of the place had to do with the staff's ability to keep track of deliveries. A co-worker was waiting for a lost luggage item to be delivered to hotel and had received notifiication from airlines it had been delivered to the hotel. Upon asking the front desk staff, they claimed it had not arrived and had no log of it on their incoming delivery log. After asking if they could check the storage area, they did and the suticase was found. It happened again with an item that was critical for the completion of the job I was on was to be delivered Saturday. I was unable to collect the item myself as I was working across the border in Mexico and picked up early every day. I asked if the item had been received at the hotel later on Saturday and was told that UPS had not stopped there that day. I asked again on Sunday just in case someone missed something and was told again that nothing was received from UPS. When Monday came I was able to call the office and track the package and was angry to find that the package was received on Saturday. I spoke with the manager on duty, voiced my displeasure over incident; they apologized and offered Reward Points as compensation (haven't checked if I had received them). Again, my overall experience was positive but this torqued me off a bit.

Service, friendly, great ammenities, nice pool, lobby, well kept grounds, their location is near everything e.g. food, shopping ..hey even a nearby Bird Sanctuary a mile away.
Friendly staff, and very helpful if anything is not perfect. Shuttle drivers are friendly and service is great. Even drop you off / pick you up at nearby restaurants or shopping within 2 miles. What more can you want?
I have tried them all, past life did 100+ nites in hotels one year.
((no it is terrible, do not stay here...do not booked it up ...need it for my next visit :))

This hotel has above average features e.g. the pool area outside is a small oasis, nice architeure and landscaping, a private getaway almost. Too bad the waterfall and hot tubs where not fully operational,
The grounds are also decorated cheerfully (and for Xmas also) and staff are great, we asked for a softer bed as the orignal was rock hard and they fixed the smoke detector also (which beepeed all the first night, ugh re sleep). But all was fixed asap cheerfully. Excellent location also for food, shopping, all walking distance. The shuttle service includes nearby restaurants, shopping, etc. within 2 miles and the shuttle guys were freindly and efficient.
Now left my power supply for my computer there, asked for it to be found / returned. TBD if that is fixed. However it seems all hotels in my "hotel" life (all hotels $ or not) let maids take home lost items until a guest complains i.e. no policy to turn it in to a hotel "lost and found" until then. Same at airports FYI - cleaners keep everything they find unless you can prove it. UGH. Anyhow, great property! Recomended hightly. Free happy hour and breakfast and wi fi worked too. No other hotel chain does better for sure, I have tried them all (110 nights one year in hotels business travel, ugh, slowing that down now).

I left some valuable articles in the room but didn't realize it until I arrived at the airport. I called the hotel to see if they could mail them. However, Samantha suggested they bring it to me at the airport. My valuables were delivered to me prior to boarding the plane.
Samantha's assistance is the epitome of customer service, and it's the reason I will stay at this hotel every time I visit McAllen.

Most of the staff people were very friendly and helpful, but not terribly bright or communicative when faced with an unusual request. I asked for a small refrigerator to be put in my room, and this really through them for a loop. One desk person just shut down, like her brain switched to "off". It was the house maintenance guy that really sprang into action. He was great. After I checked out and got home, I realized I'd left a pair of pants in the closet and asked for it to be mailed back. Well, this really confused the staff. I even gave them my credit card number to charge for the mailing cost. But they were still confused and confounded about how to mail back an item left behind. Said they had to get management permission and a lot of other nonsense excuses. I finally reached a manager who said this would be easy to handle. Suggest you hire smarter, more motivated, sharper-minded front desk staff.

Really liked the location of the Hotel , suprisingly to see the
shopping malls at walk away distance.
It was great pleasure to take rest after the whole day of shopping and my daughter enjoyed the Swimming pool very well.
Only set back I had was that the room allocated to me was at the
new building which had the party halls. Found bit uncomfortable to walk around in wet clothes , with the photo shoots going on the hall way.
The staff was kind enough to grand a extended check out to complete our shopping spree.
Hope to be back in there soon.

Worst Holiday Inn Express i've stayed at! You could give triple points and i would go some where else. Rooms dirty, Key cards barely worked had to hold just right. spent 2 minutes each time i tryed to enter room. Bed was as hard as a rock. Would never stay here again and i will be going back next month for a week! I will be staying at a different Brand.
