The staff is amazing, very helpful. Was welcomed warmly and wasn't harassed about my service animal. they welcomed her as well. I feel at home when staying at the hotel. is the only hotel I will stay out when traveling in that area. April 5, 2013

We arrived in the middle of the night and the staff make us felt very welcoming. The next day when we have our breakfast we forgot the breakfast hours in over at 10:00 and we were late and they keep servicing us. Thank you. March 27, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff, nice hotel. Stopped here on our way from San Fran to Portland. The staff was very friendly when we checked in, recommending some local restaurants to us. We were upgraded to a suite for being a platinum member. The suite was in the new addition area of the hotel, which was a little bit of a walk from the elevator. For the rest of our stay, we used the stairs right by our room for easy access to the car. The suite was new. One thing I liked was the shower door, which was designed to keep water from getting on the bathroom floor. This is a problem I tend to notice at other hotels that only have a curtain. My wife and I used the pool and fitness center. The ellyptical was a little squeaky, but they had weights and a bench, which isnt always the case with HIEs. The breakfast selection was above average. The hotel location was close to the airport and was very windy both days that I was there. I'm not sure if that was just the time of the year (March) or that the location gets a lot of wind. I would stay here again if I'm ever back in the area. March 24, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I'm watching a decline I stay at this hotel 30-0 nights a year. This latest stay was a surprising disappointment that appears to be becoming a downward tread. As a former hotelier I see it clearly. Nip it in the bud now would be my suggestion. Front desk is consistently well handled however this stay was rougher than most. It may be understandable that the hotel was experiencing internet issues out of your control. Initial room assignmnet was a disaster. The room reeked of cannibus smoke despite this being a non-smoking hotel. It was coming from the ajoining/connected room. The room reassignment went smooth nowever the room needed attention. There was a lft over beer can and a large pink box approximately 2'x3' from a barbie doll toy that had been left in the room. This oversight makes the quest be concerned about other ares of overlooked cleaniiness. The hot tub badly needed attention. Upon notification the staff responded but to was far too late to save the experience. The oder made the pool unusable. Why should a guest need to tell you tell you that the water is yellow/green. The breakfast was the usual. Is there any chance of getting a non-pork meat entre? Many facilities I stayare now offering turkey sausages with the pork. Bottom line: not many other options in the area however I am looking forward to the new HIE in Eureka. Excellent staff that just needs more supervision/follow-up. March 22, 2013

She even gave me a goody bad for priority members with two bottle of water and chex mix. Not all HIE properties do this but it is greatly appreciated when they do. February 24, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Old Food - Yuk!!!!! The room and accomodations were what you would expect from HIE; however, the food in the breakfast bar was old and not fit to eat. The milk was warm and sour (even though the expiration date was not past). I tried a second container of milk with the same result. The hard-boiled eggs were tough and old. I have a relatively strict diet regime, and there was nothing for me to eat outside of a banana. I had to purchase lunch elsewhere, thereby reducing the overall value of the stay. I think the refrigerator for the milk and eggs was defective and only partially cooling the food inside. It should be checked to see that it is working properly or if the temperature setting is wrong. January 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Needed support during our move to Eureka I am most grateful for the experience that we had in our stay at the HIE in Arcata...My wife and I recently purchased a home in Eureka, and had to stay in the hotel while waiting on delayed closing..It was as close to home as we could have expected..We felt secure, the breakfast and amenities were awesome, and the staff was always helpful, better than average...I will highly recommend this hotel to anyone who comes to see us, or is in the area visiting...Thanks for the good experience... The folks there did a wonderful job with the decorations. We were able to walk to the IN&OUT Burger place which was fun! I would be happy to stay there again! January 4, 2013

As local residents, we are aware of sub-standard 20th century accommodations in our local area (Eureka, Arcata). The Holiday Inn Express in McKinleyville has always been professional, clean and hospitable. In particular, the night we stayed, the staff was very helpful in setting up a courtesy shuttle to a local casino restaurant. Last, but not least- the hotel was clean.. January 3, 2013

We always stay there during Christmas time to fly out to Hawaii and it is amazing the Christmas decorations the fireplace the cozy atmosphere. Staff always very friendly and helpful. Stay and Park, we leave our car and they shuttle us to the airport and when we return take us back to our car. Great service!! January 2, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quite, comfortable and friendly I have been staying at this Holiday Inn for business monthly for the last 18 months. It is quite, comfortable and friendly. The staff is exceptional. They strive to meet my every need and make my stay as comfortable as possible. My room is always very clean and fully stocked with all the essentials. The beds are very comfortable. On the few occasions when something in my room was amiss, I have always received an immediate response and remedy to the problem. The breakfast is hot, fresh and delicious. The woman in charge of preparing the breakfast always has a smile on her face and is ready to help you with whatever you need. My only wish is that there was more fruit, apples or grapefruit perhaps? This is the only hotel I will stay in while in the Eureka area. December 18, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet and Nice This is an upscale Holiday Inn Express with staff and service to match. It is very near the airport but the airport is small and the hotel is very quiet.. It has been very well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beds were too firm for us but that's a very personal preference. All-in-all this is one of the best Holiday Inn Expresses we've stayed at - and we've stayed at a lot of them. Highly recommended. December 1, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nicest lobby and rooms ANYWHERE! The stay was wonderful as the layout on this property was truly the best Holiday Inn Express we have every stayed at. The room was set up with plenty of space to use the table and two could be seated with no problem. The decor of the room and the lobby area were great. The beds were A+ as they always are HIE. I would have to say it was the best HIE that we have stayed in on our entire trip. Staff was exceptional also and were offering help on dining recommendations, which turned out great. The staff is always friendly, the rooms are great, the hotel is very nice, and easily worth the price. When I stay here, I’m working the PG&E Power Plant and I drive an extra 30 minutes to this Holiday Inn, passing about 6 other hotels right next to the plant. I recommend this hotel to anyone!
