Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very courteous and responsive. Overal stay was great.

I stay at this hotel often, and it's gone so downhill. It's basically in ruins. There is mold on the walls in almost every room. The refrigerators work sporadically. The bathrooms are never clean or reset in the same way. When asking to switch to another room, the result is the same. The carpet baseboard is peeling away from the walls, the moisture is so bad. The carpets and wallpaper have stains. This most recent stay, my colleague's refrigerator was broken upon arrival-- she switched rooms to one that smelled horribly of mildew. My room had a dirty toilet seat and hair all over the shower and floor. There was also hair all over the sheets of my bed when I pulled the covers back. After asking to switch, they tried to move me to my colleague's room with the broken refrigerator, and then to a room that also had hair (and stains) on the sheets. It was 8 pm and there's no housekeeping staff, so rather than drag my belongings all over the hotel looking for a clean room, I asked for cleaning products and new sheets and proceeded to clean my own bathroom and change my own linens. When I went to use the towels, there were still mascara stains from some previous use. My group has spent almost $8000 at this hotel in the last year, and the front desk staff are all very friendly and want to help but can't. I can't get past the terrible quality of this most recent stay. We won't be taking our business here in the future if we can help it.

The staff at the Richmond-Michanicsville HI are super friendly and accommodating. The rooms need a bit of a freshen up, but the beds are super comfortable. Good breakfast selection and location.

Hotel staff was excellent, very friendly and courteous. Great hot complete breakfast and Great maid service. My husband and I stayed for an extended Nascar Vacation, we were presented with a gift bag upon arrival, early check in and late check out we also received a lot of extra Nascar items for memorabilia that was Great. The room and bathroom was very clean and comfortable just like I was at home ,the a/c worked great and the pool was very clean also. I would recommend this hotel to everyone staying in Mechanicsville Va. Thank You Holiday Inn Express Mechanicsville VA for such a GREAT stay.

Easy to book rooms to suit our needs. Room was clean and what we ordered. Slept well and enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again.

I love staying in this awesome hotel in Mechanicsville, VA. I can bring a cat to be near my family. The staff in this hotel are friendly and nice.

Room was musty and smelled moldy -- I alerted the front desk and they told me, apologetically, that the rooms were due for a "makeover" soon and did I want to switch rooms (kudos to that, at least),. But I was exhausted, and had arranged to have a room next to my brother, so I jus asked for a can of disinfectant that I could spray in the A/C unit, which unfortunately did no good.

Friendly staff that went above the call to make my reservation very convenient. I stayed at this hotel a previous night and my travel plans were changed so that I was back in the same area....I was driving so I called the front desk to see if they had rooms available. Not only did they have rooms available but when I gave him my name, he made the reservation for me while I was on the phone, so when I arrived I had a room ready. Great service! He also handled my welcome points immediately when I checked in both times...I really appreciated his willingness to take care of me!
